Such individual differences in ways of coping with stress are relevant both in biomedicine, since different personalities may experience a different stress and disease vulnerability, and in behavioural ecology, since their adaptive value and evolutionary maintenance are the subject of debate. However, the precise way in which individual stress differences and personalities are linked is unclear. Here we provide an updated overview of this covariation across different species and taxa, consider its functional significance and present working hypotheses for how behavioural and physiological responses to stress might be causally linked, affecting life-history traits such as dispersal and life-span [Current Zoology 56 (6): 728-740, 2010].展开更多

In order to provide seamless network services to high-mobility users, one of the promising solution proposed by 3 GPP is the deployment of moving-relays. In this article, we introduce the concept of Moving-Personal-Cell(mPC), which is a type of moving-relays. mPC is a user-centric network, which aims to provide reliable network services to moving users. A mPC receives data-traffic from eNB and its neighboring mPCs via wireless backhaul and sidehual links respectively and forwards the received data to its serving users. In addition to this, mPC can also increase the network capacity by caching and distributing the popular contents to its serving users. Besides these pros, the mPC also has some limitations, as its performance is highly affected by cross-tier and co-tier interferences. In this article, we analyze the effect of these interferences on mPCs performance. Our results show that the performance of mPC network is equally affected by the capacity of wireless backhaul, sidehaul, and access links. Moreover, since mPCs accommodate data traffic from wireless backhaul, sidehaul links, and content cache, their performance is also affected by the ratio of data-traffic delivered via these links.展开更多

We found the relationship between hippocampal responses to emotional stimuli and the mental stabilities of people in our preliminary study. In this study, we have also evaluated how the emotional stimuli would affect amygdala and thalamus in the brain, and how the personality stabilities could relate to the responses in the brain using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). We evaluated the subjects’ personality features with the Yatabe-Guilford Personality Test (Y-G test) and psychosomatic symptoms with the Cornell Medical Index (CMI). The subjects were categorized into the mentally stable group and the mentally unstable group according to the total scores of the Y-G test and the CMI. The brain functional responses under emotional stimuli were measured using fMRI. The region of interest (ROI) analysis was performed to abstract significant changes in order to compare responses among the different emotional stimuli. We conducted the regression analysis to abstract the relationship between the mean % signal change from fMRI and the personality stability. The fMRI results showed that the hippocampus, thalamus, and right amygdala activities under the human relationship stimuli increased with ascending value of mental instability. Our findings suggest that the memory process in the hippocampus and the threat alarm system in the thalamus under the human-related stimuli crucially influence the emotional reaction of mentally unstable people. These processes in the brain would affect the event that stresses on human relationships that often cause people to suffer from mental disorders.展开更多

文摘In the past decade there has been a profusion of studies highlighting covariation between individual differences in stress physiology and behavioural profiles, here called personalities. Here we provide an updated overview of this covariation across different species and taxa, consider its functional significance and present working hypotheses for how behavioural and physiological responses to stress might be causally linked, affecting life-history traits such as dispersal and life-span [Current Zoology 56 (6): 728-740, 2010].

文摘Person search mainly consists of two submissions, namely Person Detection and Person Re-identification(reID).Existing approaches are primarily based on Faster R-CNN and Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)(e.g.,ResNet).While these structures may detect high-quality bounding boxes, they seem to degrade the performance of re-ID.To address this issue, this paper proposes a Dual-Transformer Head Network(DTHN)for end-to-end person search, which contains two independent Transformer heads,a box head for detecting the bounding box and extracting efficient bounding box feature, and a re-ID head for capturing high-quality re-ID features for the re-ID task.Specifically, after the image goes through the ResNet backbone network to extract features, the Region Proposal Network(RPN)proposes possible bounding boxes. The box head then extracts more efficient features within these bounding boxes for detection.Following this, the re-ID head computes the occluded attention of the features in these bounding boxes and distinguishes them from other persons or backgrounds.Extensive experiments on two widely used benchmark datasets,CUHK-SYSU and PRW,achieve state-of-the-art performance levels,94.9 mAP and 95.3 top-1 scores on the CUHK-SYSU dataset, and 51.6 mAP and 87.6 top-1 scores on the PRW dataset, which demonstrates the advantages of this paper’s approach. The efficiency comparison also shows our method is highly efficient in both time and space.

文摘Visible-infrared Cross-modality Person Re-identification(VI-ReID)is a critical technology in smart public facilities such as cities, campuses and libraries. It aims to match pedestrians in visible light and infrared images for video surveillance, which poses a challenge in exploring cross-modal shared information accurately and efficiently.Therefore,multi-granularity feature learning methods have been applied in VI-ReID to extract potential multi-granularity semantic information related to pedestrian body structure attributes. However, existing research mainly uses traditional dual-stream fusion networks and overlooks the core of cross-modal learning networks, the fusion module. This paper introduces a novel network called the Augmented Deep Multi-Granularity Pose-Aware Feature Fusion Network(ADMPFF-Net),incorporating the Multi-Granularity Pose-Aware Feature Fusion(MPFF)module to generate discriminative representations.MPFF efficiently explores and learns global and local features with multi-level semantic information by inserting disentangling and duplicating blocks into the fusion module of the backbone network.ADMPFF-Net also provides a new perspective for designing multi-granularity learning networks.By incorporating the multi-granularity feature disentanglement(mGFD)and posture information segmentation(pIS)strategies,it extracts more representative features concerning body structure information. The Local Information Enhancement(LIE)module augments high-performance features in VI-ReID,and the multi-granularity joint loss supervises model training for objective feature learning.Experimental results on two public datasets show that ADMPFF-Net efficiently constructs pedestrian feature representations and enhances the accuracy of VI-ReID.

文摘The digital technologies that run based on users’content provide a platform for users to help air their opinions on various aspects of a particular subject or product. The recommendation agents play a crucial role in personalizing the needs of individual users. Therefore,it is essential to improve the user experience. The recommender system focuses on recommending a set of items to a user to help the decision-making process and is prevalent across e-commerce and media websites. In Context-Aware Recommender Systems(CARS),several influential and contextual variables are identified to provide an effective recommendation.A substantial trade-off is applied in context to achieve the proper accuracy and coverage required for a collaborative recommendation. The CARS will generate more recommendations utilizing adapting them to a certain contextual situation of users. However, the key issue is how contextual information is used to create good and intelligent recommender systems. This paper proposes an Artificial Neural Network(ANN)to achieve contextual recommendations based on usergenerated reviews. The ability of ANNs to learn events and make decisions based on similar events makes it effective for personalized recommendations in CARS.Thus, the most appropriate contexts in which a user should choose an item or service are achieved. This work converts every label set into a Multi-Label Classification(MLC)problem to enhance recommendations.Experimental results show that the proposed ANN performs better in the Binary Relevance(BR)Instance-Based Classifier, the BR Decision Tree, and the Multi-label SVM for Trip Advisor and LDOS-CoMoDa Dataset.Furthermore, the accuracy of the proposed ANN achieves better results by 1.1%to 6.1%compared to other existing methods.

文摘Recent years have witnessed a huge demand for ubiquitous communications services from continuously moving users. Moreover, since mPCs accommodate data traffic from wireless backhaul, sidehaul links, and content cache, their performance is also affected by the ratio of data-traffic delivered via these links.

文摘Optical neural networks have significant advantages in terms of power consumption, parallelism, and high computing speed, which has intrigued extensive attention in both academic and engineering communities. It has been considered as one of the powerful tools in promoting the fields of imaging processing and object recognition. However, the existing optical system architecture cannot be reconstructed to the realization of multi-functional artificial intelligence systems simultaneously. To push the development of this issue,we propose the pluggable diffractive neural networks(P-DNN),a general paradigm resorting to the cascaded metasurfaces, which can be applied to recognize various tasks by switching internal plug-ins.As the proof-of-principle,the recognition functions of six types of handwritten digits and six types of fashions are numerical simulated and experimental demonstrated at near-infrared regimes.Encouragingly, the proposed paradigm not only improves the flexibility of the optical neural networks but paves the new route for achieving high-speed,low-power and versatile artificial intelligence systems.

文摘Immune changes and inflammatory responses have been identified as central events in the pathological process of spinal co rd injury. They can greatly affect nerve regeneration and functional recovery. However, there is still limited understanding of the peripheral immune inflammato ry response in spinal cord inju ry.In this study.we obtained microRNA expression profiles from the peripheral blood of patients with spinal co rd injury using high-throughput sequencing. We also obtained the mRNA expression profile of spinal cord injury patients from the Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO)database(GSE151371).We identified 54 differentially expressed microRNAs and 1656 diffe rentially expressed genes using bioinformatics approaches.Functional enrichment analysis revealed that various common immune and inflammation-related signaling pathways, such as neutrophil extracellular trap formation pathway,T cell receptor signaling pathway, and nuclear factor-κB signal pathway,we re abnormally activated or inhibited in spinal cord inju ry patient samples. We applied an integrated strategy that combines weighted gene co-expression network analysis,LASSO logistic regression, and SVM-RFE algorithm and identified three biomarke rs associated with spinal cord injury:ANO10,BST1,and ZFP36L2.We verified the expression levels and diagnostic perfo rmance of these three genes in the original training dataset and clinical samples through the receiver operating characteristic curve.Quantitative polymerase chain reaction results showed that ANO20 and BST1 mRNA levels were increased and ZFP36L2 mRNA was decreased in the peripheral blood of spinal cord injury patients. We also constructed a small RNA-mRNA interaction network using Cytoscape.Additionally,we evaluated the proportion of 22 types of immune cells in the peripheral blood of spinal co rd injury patients using the CIBERSORT tool. The proportions of naive B cells, plasma cells, monocytes, and neutrophils were increased while the proportions of memory B cells,CD8^(+)T cells, resting natural killer cells, resting dendritic cells, and eosinophils were markedly decreased in spinal cord injury patients increased compared with healthy subjects, and ANO10,BST1 and ZFP26L2we re closely related to the proportion of certain immune cell types. The findings from this study provide new directions for the development of treatment strategies related to immune inflammation in spinal co rd inju ry and suggest that ANO10,BST2,and ZFP36L2 are potential biomarkers for spinal cord injury. The study was registe red in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry(registration No.ChiCTR2200066985,December 12,2022).
文摘Background In early adolescence, youth are highly prone to suicidal behaviours.Identifying modifiable risk factors during this critical phase is a priority to inform effective suicide prevention strategies.Aims To explore the risk and protective factors of suicidal behaviours(ie,suicidal ideation, plans and attempts)in early adolescence in China using a social-ecological perspective. Methods Using data from the cross-sectional project‘Healthy and Risky Behaviours Among Middle School Students in Anhui Province,China',stratified random cluster sampling was used to select 5724 middle school students who had completed self-report questionnaires in November 2020.Network analysis was employed to examine the correlates of suicidal ideation, plans and attempts at four levels, namely individual(sex, academic performance, serious physical llness/disability,history of self-harm,depression,impulsivity,sleep problems, resilience),family(family economic status, relationship with mother, relationship with father, family violence, childhood abuse, parental mental illness),school(relationship with teachers, relationship with classmates,school-bullying victimisation and perpetration)and social(social support, satisfaction with society). Results In total,37.9%,19.0%and 5.5%of the students reported suicidal ideation, plans and attempts in the past 6 months, respectively. The estimated network revealed that suicidal ideation, plans and attempts were collectively associated with a history of self-harm,sleep problems, childhood abuse, school bullying and victimisation.Centrality analysis indicated that the most influential nodes in the network were history of self-harm and childhood abuse.Notably, the network also showed unique correlates of suicidal ideation(sex,weight=0.60;impulsivity,weight=0.24;family violence,weight=0.17;relationship with teachers,weight=-0.03;school-bullying perpetration,weight=0.22),suicidal plans(social support,weight=-0.15)and suicidal attempts(relationship with mother,weight=-0.10;parental mental llness,weight=0.61).Conclusions This study identified the correlates of suicidal ideation, plans and attempts, and provided practical implications for suicide prevention for young adolescents in China.Firstly, this study highlighted the importance of joint interventions across multiple departments.Secondly, the common risk factors of suicidal ideation, plans and attempts were elucidated.Thirdly, this study proposed target interventions to address the unique influencing factors of suicidal ideation, plans and attempts.
文摘Hippocampus is crucial for the formation of emotional memory. These processes in the brain would affect the event that stresses on human relationships that often cause people to suffer from mental disorders.
