The well-defined particles were prepared by directly adding FeSO4 solution into AgNO3 solution containing citric acid at an agitation speed of 150 r/min at room temperature. The products were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results show that particles are irregular thin silver flakes. And the sizes of them range from 2 to 10 μm. It is found that citric acid plays an important role in the formation of sliver flakes. There is an optimum amount of citric acid for the preparation of silver flakes by this method. It is also found that high reduction rate is favorable for the formation of silver flakes.展开更多

Eradicating H pylori may convert rapidly the outcome of related diseases with the use of more accurate diagnostic molecular tests. Indeed some of the tests cannot give the evidence of current infection; H pylori can be detected by noninvasive and invasive methods, the latter requiring an endoscopy. Eradication failure is a big problem in H pylori infection. Recently, clarithromycin resistance in H pylori strains is increasing and eradicati-on therapy of this bacterium is becoming more difficult. Molecular methods have frequently been applied besides phenotypic methods for susceptibility testing to detect clarithromycin resistance due to mutations in the 2143 and 2144 positions of 23S rRNA gene. Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) method on paraffin embedded tissue is a rapid, accurate and cost-effective method for the detection of H pylori infection and to determine clarithromycin resistance within three hours according to the gold standards as a non-culture method. This method can also be applied to fresh biopsy samples and the isolated colonies from a culture of H pylori, detecting both the culturable bacillary forms and the coccoid forms of H pylori, besides the paraffin embedded tissue secti-ons. This technique is helpful for determining the bac-terial density and the results of treatment where clarith-romycin has been widely used in populations to increase the efficacy of the treatment and to clarify the treatment failure in vitro.展开更多

As there was some evidence regarding pillar failure in this mine, improving works such as roof support and replacing existing pillars with concrete pillars (CP) were carried out. During the construction of the second CP, in the space between the remaining pillars, one of the pillars failed leading to the progressive failure of other pillars until 4 000 m 2 of mine had collapsed within a few minutes. In this work, this phenomenon is described by applying both numerical and empirical methods and the respective results are compared. The results of numerical modelling are found to be closer to the actual condition than those of the empirical method. Also, a width-to-height (W/H) ratio less than 1, an inadequate support system and the absence of a detailed program for pillar recovery are shown to be the most important causes of the Domino failure in this mine.展开更多

The XRD patterns of the H-and S-samples showed peaks indexed to the pure phase of perovskite NaTaOand minor peaks assignable to TaNat various synthesis temperatures. Substitution of oxygen by nitrogen ions causes the light absorption of the H-and S-NaTaONsamples to be extended to the 600–650 nm region, thus making the samples visible-light active. The NaTaONsamples exhibited photocatalytic activity for Hand Oevolution from aqueous methanol and silver nitrate solutions under visible-light irradiation. The UV–vis and PL spectra of the Hand S-catalysts revealed the presence of cationic vacancies and reduced metallic species, which acted as recombination centers. These results demonstrated that the preparation method plays a critical role in the formation of defect states, thereby governing the photocatalytic activity of the NaTaONcatalysts.展开更多

Beyond this, it is a finicky bacterium to culture, and any modification of culture procedures greatly reduces isolation rates. Poor quality of laboratories in developing countries results in its poor isolation rates. This study was done with the objective of finding out the optimal cultural environment and media so that it could be maintained for a longer period in economical settings like ours which was done using H. influenzae ATCC 49,766. In this study, several culture media were tested as a means to preserve H. influenzae ATCC like TSB + glycerol + sheep blood, BHI broth, BHI broth + glycerol, BHI broth+ glycerol + sheep blood, Chocolate agar slant and satellitism plate. Three sets of respective media were inoculated with 18 - 24 hours growth of H. influenzae. They were incubated at 37?oC 48 hours in a candle extinction jar. The media were checked for growth by subculturing them on chocolate agar plates and identified by biochemical reactions. Each set was maintained at 2 oC - 8?oC, -20?oC and at room temperature and checked for the viability 24 hourly by subculturing them on chocolate agar. Results showed best growth of H. influenza on chocolate agar slants for 15 - 20 days, followed by BHI + glycerol + sheep blood broth and satellitism plate for 4 - 6 days followed by BHI broth for 2 - 4 days. There was no growth in TSB + glycerol + sheep blood broth and BHI + glycerol broth media. Present study showed similar results as done by NS Srikanth et al. 2003 with growth on chocolate agar & satellitism plate for 3 - 5 days but no growth in TSB + Glycerol + Sheep blood broth media. The purpose is to design a decentralized H-infinity output feedback controller to.stabilize the given system and achieve a certain H-infinity performance requirement both in the normal situation and in the situation where any one of the local controllers fails. The designed problem is reduced to a feasibility problem of a set of bilinear matrix inequalities (BMIs). An algorithm is proposed to solve the BMIs. First, the normal situation is considered where all the local controllers are functioning. The local controllers are obtained from a standard centralized H-infinity controller by using a homotopy method imposing a structural constraint progressively. Secondly, the above case is extended to the one where any one of the local controllers fails. We again use a homotopy method where the coefficient matrices of the failed controller are decreased progressively to zero. The efficiency of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by an example.展开更多

In common with many flows, the dynamics of streamwise vortices in plane Poiseuille flow are very non-normal. Consequently, small perturbations grow rapidly with a large transient that may trigger nonlinearities and lead to turbulence even though such perturbations would, in a linear flow model, eventually decay. Such a system can be described as a conditionally linear system. The sensitivity is measured using the maximum transient energy growth, which is widely used in the fluid dynamics community. The paper considers two approaches. In the first approach, the MoI is used to design low-order proportional and proportional-integral (PI) controllers. In the second one, the MoI is combined with McFarlane and Glover's H∞ loop-shaping design procedure in a mixed-optimization approach.展开更多

The efficiency of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by an example.

文摘An h-adaptive method is developed for high-order discontinuous Galerkin methods(DGM)to solve the laminar compressible Navier-Stokes(N-S)equations on unstructured mesh. The vorticity is regarded as the indicator of adaptivity. The elements where the vorticity is larger than a pre-defined upper limit are refined, and those where the vorticity is smaller than a pre-defined lower limit are coarsened if they have been refined.A high-order geometric approximation of curved boundaries is adopted to ensure the accuracy.Numerical results indicate that highly accurate numerical results can be obtained with the adaptive method at relatively low expense.
文摘This paper investigates the use of the method of inequalities (MoI) to design output-feedback compensators for the problem of the control of instabilities in a laminar plane Poiseuille flow. In the second one, the MoI is combined with McFarlane and Glover's H∞ loop-shaping design procedure in a mixed-optimization approach.

文摘An H1 space-time discontinuous Galerkin (STDG) scheme for convection- diffusion equations in one spatial dimension is constructed and analyzed. This method is formulated by combining the H1 Galerkin method and the space-time discontinuous finite element method that is discontinuous in time and continuous in space. The existence and the uniqueness of the approximate solution are proved. The convergence of the scheme is analyzed by using the techniques in the finite difference and finite element methods. An optimal a-priori error estimate in the L∞ (H1) norm is derived. The numerical exper- iments are presented to verify the theoretical results.

文摘In this study,a high-throughput screening method was established through the 24-square deep-well microliter plate(MTP) fermentation and micro-plate detection for large-scale screening of the mutants. It was suitable for screening a large number of mutants and improving the breeding efficiency after heavy-ion beam irradiation.Seventeen strains showed higher cellulase activity compared with the initial strain after the screening of plate and MTP fermentation. The filter paper activity and β-glucosidase activity of Aspergillus niger H11201 had increased 38.74 and 63.23%separately compared with A.niger H11 by shaking flask fermentation, and it was genetically stable after being passaged to nine generations. The results indicate that the high-throughput screening method can be used for the quick breeding of A.niger with high cellulase activity.
