The acid-base equilibrium of 1,10-phenanthroline (1,10-phen) in the presence of polyethylene glycol 400 (PEG-400, non-ionic) and tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB, ionic) micellar media has been studied by Calvin-Wilso...The acid-base equilibrium of 1,10-phenanthroline (1,10-phen) in the presence of polyethylene glycol 400 (PEG-400, non-ionic) and tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB, ionic) micellar media has been studied by Calvin-Wilson titration technique at different mole fractions (0.5% - 2.5%) of PEG-400 and TBAB micellar solutions at an ionic strength of 0.16 mol dm-3 NaCl and at a temperature of 298 K. The pH metric data were subjected to SCPHD program to obtain correction factor and Kw which were given as initial inputs for MINIQUAD75 program to refine protonation constants. HySS program was then used to generate the species distribution diagrams versus pH using the results obtained from the MINIQUAD75 program and SIM run data. The difference in values of protonation constants in aqueous medium (logβ1 = 4.93 & logβ2 = 6.22) and in the micellar media (PEG-400, logβ1 = 4.89 & logβ2 = 5.91 and TBAB, logβ1 = 4.84 & logβ2 = 5.73) is attributed to different intrinsic solvent characteristics of micelles. In case of ionic surfactants, the electrostatic micellar surface is an additional contributing factor.展开更多
Schiff bases are known to possess anticancer, antibacterial, antifungal, antitubercular, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antimalarial properties. In this paper antibacterial studies against variety of plants and ...Schiff bases are known to possess anticancer, antibacterial, antifungal, antitubercular, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antimalarial properties. In this paper antibacterial studies against variety of plants and human pathogenic bacteria with eight newly synthesized Schiff bases and several intermediate silyl compounds have been reported. The antibacterial activities of the synthesized compounds were primarily determined by paper disc diffusion method. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of each compound was also determined by tube dilution process. Seven different human pathogenic bacteria and eighteen different plant pathogenic bacteria were used for the antibacterial activity studies. While all synthesized compounds have shown significant antibacterial activity, one intermediate silyl compound has shown remarkably high antibacterial property. 5-substituted derivatives have shown relatively higher activity than non-substituted compounds. Polar substituent which increases hydrophilicity may have a positive impact on the antibacterial property.展开更多

Two novel clusters [Mn~Ⅲ_3（μ_3-O）（phendox）3]X·13H_2O（X = Cl（1）, Br（2]） have been obtained from the solvothermal reactions of 1,10-phenanthroline-2,9-dicarbaldehyde dioxime（H_2phendox） with MnCl_2...Two novel clusters [Mn~Ⅲ_3（μ_3-O）（phendox）3]X·13H_2O（X = Cl（1）, Br（2]） have been obtained from the solvothermal reactions of 1,10-phenanthroline-2,9-dicarbaldehyde dioxime（H_2phendox） with MnCl_2·4H_2O or anhydrous MnBr_2, and their structures were characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, XRD, TGA, MS and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in trigonal, space group P3_1/c. X-ray analysis reveals that the neighbouring [Mn_3（μ_3-O）（phendox）_3]＋ cores are linked by C–H···Cl hydrogen bonds and form an infinite supramolecular chain along the c-axis. Neighbouring chains are packed with each other by off-set p-p interactions of the aromatic rings on phenox2-. A 3D supramolecular architecture in a honeycomb topology is formed with 1D hexagonal channel in the dimensions of 13？ × 13？ along the c-axis. The gas adsorption studies show that compound 1·13H_2O is stable upon the removal of guest molecules and the desolvated compound absorbed considerable amount of CO_2.展开更多

This investigation aimed to unveil new prospective diagnosis-related biomarkers together with treatment targets against glioblastoma.Methods:The expression levels of long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)DPP10-AS1 were assessed ...This investigation aimed to unveil new prospective diagnosis-related biomarkers together with treatment targets against glioblastoma.Methods:The expression levels of long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)DPP10-AS1 were assessed using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR)within both the patient tissue specimens and glioblastoma cell lines.The relationship between lncRNA DPP10-AS1 expression in glioblastoma and patient prognosis was investigated.Cell Counting Kit-8(CCK-8),transwell,and clonogenic experiments were utilized to assess tumor cells’proliferation,invasiveness,and migratory potentials after lncRNA DPP10-AS1 expression was up or down-regulated.Using an online bioinformatics prediction tool,the intracellular localization of lncRNA DPP10-AS1 and its target miRNA were predicted,and RNA-FISH verified results.A dual-luciferase reporter experiment validated the relationship across miR-24-3p together with lncRNA DPP10-AS1.MiR-24-3p expression within glioblastoma was identified through RT-qPCR,and potential link across miR-24-3p and lncRNA DPP10-AS1 was assessed using Pearson correlation analysis.Moreover,influence from lncRNA DPP10-AS1/miR-24-3p axis upon glioblastoma cell progression was assessed in vivo via a subcutaneous xenograft tumor model.Results:The expression of lncRNA DPP10-AS1 was notably reduced in both surgical specimens of glioblastoma and the equivalent cell lines.Low level of lncRNA DPP10-AS1 in glioblastoma is following poor prognosis.The downregulation of lncRNA DPP10-AS1 in glioblastoma cells resulted in enhanced cellular proliferation,migration,and invasion capabilities,accompanied by downregulated E-cadherin and upregulated vimentin and N-cadherin.Additionally,the observed upregulation of lncRNA DPP10-AS1 demonstrated a substantial inhibitory function upon proliferation,invasion,and migratory capabilities of LN229 cells.Subcellular localization disclosed that lncRNA DPP10-AS1 had a binding site that interacted with miR-24-3p.Upregulated miR-24-3p was detected in glioblastomas,displaying an inverse correlation with lncRNA DPP10-AS1 expression.MiR-24-3p downstream target has been determined as chromodomain helicase DNA binding protein 5(CHD5).LncRNA DPP10-AS1 affected the invasion and proliferation of glioblastoma by controlling the miR-24-3p/CHD5 axis.Conclusion:The present study demonstrated that lncRNA DPP10-AS1 can inhibit the invasive,migratory,and proliferative properties of glioblastoma by regulating the miR-24-3p/CHD5 signaling pathway.Consequently,lncRNA DPP10-AS1 has potential as a tumor suppressor and might be utilized for accurate diagnosis and targeted treatments of glioblastomas.展开更多

It was demonstra...The corrosion behavior of BFe10-1-1 alloy with different rare earth （RE） contents in simulated flowing marine water was investigated by X-ray diffractometer and scanning electron microscope （SEM）. It was demonstrated that the corrosion rate of BFel0-1-1 alloy with the same chemical compositions in faster flow velocity of marine water was higher than that in a lower flow velocity of marine water. Fixing the flow velocity, BFe 10-1-1 alloy had the best flushing corrosion resistance when the RE content was 0.04wt.%. The consequence of such good corrosion resistance was attributed to the formation of compact protective film on alloy surface containing RE phase such as CeNis. The RE-contained film combines with other corrosion products firmly, which was difficult to fall off from the alloy surface in the flowing marine water. Additionally, SEM analysis confirmed that pitting mechanism, which would be transformed to spalling mechanism gradually with further increasing RE content, was the prevalent mechanism when the alloy contained 0.04wt.%RE.展开更多
To observe the effects of the micronutrients on oxidative and autoimmune destruction of islets so as to prevent a person from the onset and development of type 1 Diabetes Mellitus （T1DM）, the interleukin-4 and inter...To observe the effects of the micronutrients on oxidative and autoimmune destruction of islets so as to prevent a person from the onset and development of type 1 Diabetes Mellitus （T1DM）, the interleukin-4 and interleukin-10 expressions of lymphocytes in peripheral blood and spleen of T1DM rats were determined by flow cytometry. GSH-Px activity and MDA level in the rats＇ pancreas were measured using biochemical methods. The insulin contents in serum and β cell insulin secret storage were tested by RIA and IHC, respectively. There was an increase in the percentages of IL-4 and IL-10 positive lymphocytes in the peripheral blood and spleen of the groups of rats supplemented with various combinations of micronutrients（p 〈0.01 and p 〈0.05, respectively） ; the blood glucose concentration decreased （p 〈 0. 05 ） ; both the functional β cell in islets and the insulin content in pancreatic tissue increased （p 〈 0. 05 and p 〈0. 01 ） ; the GSH-Px activity and MDA level of pancreas in the rats enhanced and decreased respectively（p 〈0. 01 and p 〈 0. 05）. The results suggest that micronutrients may alleviate the islet lesions by upregulating the expressions of IL-4 and IL-10 and lowering oxidative stress in diabetic rats .展开更多

文摘Three lanthanide（III） complexes [Ln（4-NCP）（1,4-BDC）]n·xn H2O（Ln = Pr（1）, Sm（2）, Nd（3）. 4-HNCP = 2-（4-carboxyphenyl）imidazo（4,5-f）（1,10）phenanthroline, 1,4-H2 BDC = benzene-1,4-dicarboxylic acid） have been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized via elemental analysis, infrared spectrometry and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Structural analyses revealed that complexes 1~3 possess similar porous three-dimensional frameworks with the point symbol {4^（12）·6~3}. Meanwhile, complexes 1~3 exhibit excellent thermal stabilities and complex 2 exhibits characteristic luminescent property.

文摘This investigation aimed to unveil new prospective diagnosis-related biomarkers together with treatment targets against glioblastoma.Methods:The expression levels of long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)DPP10-AS1 were assessed using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR)within both the patient tissue specimens and glioblastoma cell lines.The relationship between lncRNA DPP10-AS1 expression in glioblastoma and patient prognosis was investigated.Cell Counting Kit-8(CCK-8),transwell,and clonogenic experiments were utilized to assess tumor cells’proliferation,invasiveness,and migratory potentials after lncRNA DPP10-AS1 expression was up or down-regulated.Using an online bioinformatics prediction tool,the intracellular localization of lncRNA DPP10-AS1 and its target miRNA were predicted,and RNA-FISH verified results.A dual-luciferase reporter experiment validated the relationship across miR-24-3p together with lncRNA DPP10-AS1.MiR-24-3p expression within glioblastoma was identified through RT-qPCR,and potential link across miR-24-3p and lncRNA DPP10-AS1 was assessed using Pearson correlation analysis.Moreover,influence from lncRNA DPP10-AS1/miR-24-3p axis upon glioblastoma cell progression was assessed in vivo via a subcutaneous xenograft tumor model.Results:The expression of lncRNA DPP10-AS1 was notably reduced in both surgical specimens of glioblastoma and the equivalent cell lines.Low level of lncRNA DPP10-AS1 in glioblastoma is following poor prognosis.The downregulation of lncRNA DPP10-AS1 in glioblastoma cells resulted in enhanced cellular proliferation,migration,and invasion capabilities,accompanied by downregulated E-cadherin and upregulated vimentin and N-cadherin.Additionally,the observed upregulation of lncRNA DPP10-AS1 demonstrated a substantial inhibitory function upon proliferation,invasion,and migratory capabilities of LN229 cells.Subcellular localization disclosed that lncRNA DPP10-AS1 had a binding site that interacted with miR-24-3p.Upregulated miR-24-3p was detected in glioblastomas,displaying an inverse correlation with lncRNA DPP10-AS1 expression.MiR-24-3p downstream target has been determined as chromodomain helicase DNA binding protein 5(CHD5).LncRNA DPP10-AS1 affected the invasion and proliferation of glioblastoma by controlling the miR-24-3p/CHD5 axis.Conclusion:The present study demonstrated that lncRNA DPP10-AS1 can inhibit the invasive,migratory,and proliferative properties of glioblastoma by regulating the miR-24-3p/CHD5 signaling pathway.Consequently,lncRNA DPP10-AS1 has potential as a tumor suppressor and might be utilized for accurate diagnosis and targeted treatments of glioblastomas.

文摘The corrosion behavior of BFe10-1-1 alloy with different rare earth （RE） contents in simulated flowing marine water was investigated by X-ray diffractometer and scanning electron microscope （SEM）. It was demonstrated that the corrosion rate of BFel0-1-1 alloy with the same chemical compositions in faster flow velocity of marine water was higher than that in a lower flow velocity of marine water. Fixing the flow velocity, BFe 10-1-1 alloy had the best flushing corrosion resistance when the RE content was 0.04wt.%. The consequence of such good corrosion resistance was attributed to the formation of compact protective film on alloy surface containing RE phase such as CeNis. The RE-contained film combines with other corrosion products firmly, which was difficult to fall off from the alloy surface in the flowing marine water. Additionally, SEM analysis confirmed that pitting mechanism, which would be transformed to spalling mechanism gradually with further increasing RE content, was the prevalent mechanism when the alloy contained 0.04wt.%RE.

文摘To observe the effects of the micronutrients on oxidative and autoimmune destruction of islets so as to prevent a person from the onset and development of type 1 Diabetes Mellitus （T1DM）, the interleukin-4 and interleukin-10 expressions of lymphocytes in peripheral blood and spleen of T1DM rats were determined by flow cytometry. GSH-Px activity and MDA level in the rats＇ pancreas were measured using biochemical methods. The insulin contents in serum and β cell insulin secret storage were tested by RIA and IHC, respectively. There was an increase in the percentages of IL-4 and IL-10 positive lymphocytes in the peripheral blood and spleen of the groups of rats supplemented with various combinations of micronutrients（p 〈0.01 and p 〈0.05, respectively） ; the blood glucose concentration decreased （p 〈 0. 05 ） ; both the functional β cell in islets and the insulin content in pancreatic tissue increased （p 〈 0. 05 and p 〈0. 01 ） ; the GSH-Px activity and MDA level of pancreas in the rats enhanced and decreased respectively（p 〈0. 01 and p 〈 0. 05）. The results suggest that micronutrients may alleviate the islet lesions by upregulating the expressions of IL-4 and IL-10 and lowering oxidative stress in diabetic rats .
