A 3D simulation design of comprehensive testing system for detecting strata mining-induced fractures on surface with radon gas (CTSR) was carried out by using a large-scale 3D solid model design software Pro/Engineer (Pro/E), which overcame three main disadvantages of ''static design thought, 2D planar design and heavy workload for remodification design'' on exiting design for mining engineering test systems. Meanwhile, based on the simulation design results of Pro/E software, the sta- bility of the jack-screw pressure bar for the key component in CTSR was checked with a material mechan- ics theory, which provided a reliable basis for materials selection during the latter machining process.展开更多

A virtual specimen generation procedure consisting of aggregate gradation, irregular clumps, asphalt mortar and air void content is performed based on the random generation algorithm and irregular coarse aggregates library. Then, the virtual fracture test is conducted after adding the micro mechanical contact models to the specimen, and the validity of virtual modeling is verified by the comparison of simulation test data and lab test data. Additionally, an orthogonal test is designed to investigate the impacts of the volume fraction of coarse aggregates and air voids, stiffness of coarse aggregates and asphalt mortar, internal bond strength of asphalt mortar and distribution of coarse aggregates and air voids on low-temperature fracture performance based on virtual simulation. The results showthat all the factors have effects on fracture performance to various degrees, while the value of the bond strength of asphalt mortar is found to be the most important determinant of tensile strength and strain-energy density. The volume fraction of coarse aggregates is considered to be the most important determinant of tensile strain. Therefore, to obtain a high low-temperature fracture performance of densegraded asphalt concrete, it is important to consider the microstructure and properties of asphalt mortar and aggregates.展开更多

In order to get high-powered glass fiber reinforced plastics geogrid and its mechanical characteristics, the properties and physical mechanical index of geogrid have been got through the study of its raw material, production process and important quality index. The analysis and study have been made to the geogrid's mechanical properties with loading speed, three-axial compression, temperature tensile test and FLAC3D numerical simulation, thus obtain the mechanical parameters of its displacement time curve, breaking strength and elongation at break. Some conclusions can be drawn as follows: (a) Using glass fiber materials, knurling and coated projection process, the f^acture strength and corrosion resistance of geogrid are greatly improved and the interlocking bite capability of soil is enhanced. (b) The fracture strength of geogrid is related to temperature and loading rate. When the surrounding rock pressure is fixed, the strength and anti-deformation ability of reinforced soil are significantly enhanced with increasing reinforced layers. (c) The pullout test shows the positive correlation between geogrid displacement and action time. (d) As a new reinforced material, the glass fiber reinforced plastics geogrid is not mature enough in theoretical research and practical experience, so it has become an urgent problem both in theoretical study and practical innovation.展开更多
