A functionalized activated carbon adsorbent prepared from waste amidoxime resin by modifying with H_(3)PO_(4) and ZnCl_(2) and its excellent Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption

With the application of resins in various fields, numerous waste resins that are difficult to treat have been produced. The industrial wastewater containing Cr(Ⅵ) has severely polluted soil and groundwater environments, thereby endangering human health. Therefore, in this paper, a novel functionalized mesoporous adsorbent PPR-Z was synthesized from waste amidoxime resin for adsorbing Cr(Ⅵ). The waste amidoxime resin was first modified with H3PO4 and ZnCl_(2), and subsequently, it was carbonized through slow thermal decomposition. The static adsorption of PPR-Z conforms to the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir isotherm, indicating that the Cr(Ⅵ) adsorption by PPR-Z is mostly chemical adsorption and exhibits single-layer adsorption. The saturated adsorption capacity of the adsorbent for Cr(Ⅵ) could reach 255.86 mg/g. The adsorbent could effectively reduce Cr(Ⅵ) to Cr(Ⅲ) and decrease the toxicity of Cr(Ⅵ) during adsorption. PPR-Z exhibited Cr(Ⅵ) selectivity in electroplating wastewater. The main mechanisms involved in the Cr(Ⅵ) adsorption are the chemical reduction of Cr(Ⅵ) into Cr(Ⅲ) and electrostatic and coordination interactions. Preparation of PPR-Z not only solves the problem of waste resin treatment but also effectively controls Cr(Ⅵ) pollution and realizes the concept of “treating waste with waste”. 展开更多

Utilizing biomass waste as a potential resource for cellulose production holds promise in mitigating environmental consequences.The current study aims to utilize pineapple biowaste extract in producing bacterial cellulose acetate-based membranes with magnetic nanoparticles(Fe_(3)O_(4)nanoparticles)through the fermentation and esterification process and explore its characteristics.The bacterial cellulose fibrillation used a high-pressure homogenization procedure,and membranes were developed incorporating 0.25,0.50,0.75,and 1.0 wt.%of Fe3O4 nanoparticles as magnetic nanoparticle for functionalization.The membrane characteristics were measured in terms of Scanning Electron Microscope,X-ray diffraction,Fourier Transform Infrared,Vibrating Sample Magnetometer,antibacterial activity,bacterial adhesion and dye adsorption studies.The results indicated that the surface morphology of membrane changes where the bacterial cellulose acetate surface looks rougher.The crystallinity index of membrane increased from 54.34%to 68.33%,and the functional groups analysis revealed that multiple peak shifts indicated alterations in membrane functional groups.Moreover,adding Fe_(3)O_(4)-NPs into membrane exhibits paramagnetic behavior,increases tensile strength to 73%,enhances activity against E.coli and S.aureus,and is successful in removing bacteria from wastewater of the river to 67.4%and increases adsorption for anionic dyes like Congo Red and Acid Orange. 展开更多

Activated carbons calcined at 400˚C and 600˚C (AC-400 and AC-600), prepared using palm nuts, collected in the town of Franceville in Gabon, were used to study the dynamic adsorption of MnO<sub>4</sub>-</sup> ions in acidic media on fixed bed column and on the kinetic modeling of experimental data of breakthrough curves of  MnO<sub>4</sub>-</sup> ions obtained. Results on the adsorption of MnO<sub>4</sub>-</sup>  ions in fixed-bed dynamics obtained on AC-400 and AC-600 adsorbents beds indicated that the AC-400 bed appears to be the most efficient in removing MnO<sub>4</sub>-</sup>  ions in acidic media. Indeed, the adsorbed amounts, the adsorbed capacities at saturation and the elimination percentage of MnO<sub>4</sub>-</sup>  ions obtained with AC-400 (31.24 mg;52.06 mg·g<sup>-1</sup> and 41.65% respectively) were higher compared to those obtained with AC-600 (9.87 mg;16.45 mg·g<sup>-1</sup> and 17.79% respectively). The breakthrough curves kinetic modeling revealed that the Thomas model and the pseudo-first-order kinetic model were the most suitable models to describe the adsorption of MnO<sub>4</sub>-</sup>  ions on adsorbents studied in our experimental conditions. The results of the intraparticle diffusion model showed that intraparticle diffusion was involved in the adsorption mechanism of MnO<sub>4</sub>-</sup>  ions on investigated adsorbents and was not the limiting step and the only process controlling MnO<sub>4</sub>-</sup>  ions adsorption. In contrast to AC-400, the intraparticle diffusion on AC-600 bed plays an important role in the adsorption mechanism of MnO<sub>4</sub>-</sup>  ions. 展开更多

Optimization of Preparation of Fe_(3)O_(4)-L by Chemical Co-Precipitation and Its Adsorption of Heavy Metal Ions

To address the serious pollution of heavy metals in AMD,the difficulty and the high cost of treatment,Fe_(3)O_(4)-L was prepared by the chemical co-precipitation method.Based on the single-factor and RSM,the effects of particle size,total Fe concentration,the molar ratio of Fe^(2+)to Fe^(3+)and water bath temperature on the removal of AMD by Fe_(3)O_(4)-L prepared by chemical co-precipitation method were analyzed.Static adsorption experiments were conducted on Cu^(2+),Zn^(2+)and Pb^(2+)using Fe_(3)O_(4)-L prepared under optimal conditions as adsorbents.The adsorption properties and mechanisms were analyzed by combining SEM-EDS,XRD and FTIR for characterization.The study showed that the effects of particle size,total Fe concentration and the molar ratio of Fe^(2+)to Fe^(3+)are larger.Obtained by response surface optimization analysis,the optimum conditions for the preparation of Fe_(3)O_(4)-L were a particle size of 250 mesh,a total Fe concentration of 0.5 mol/L,and a molar ratio of Fe^(2+)to Fe^(3+)of 1:2.Under these conditions,the removal rates of Cu^(2+),Zn^(2+),and Pb^(2+)were 94.52%,88.49%,and 96.69%respectively.The adsorption of Cu^(2+),Zn^(2+)and Pb^(2+)by Fe_(3)O_(4)-L prepared under optimal conditions reached equilibrium at 180 min,with removal rates of 99.99%,85.27%,and 97.48%,respectively.The adsorption reaction of Fe_(3)O_(4)-L for Cu^(2+)and Zn^(2+)is endothermic,while that for Pb^(2+)is exothermic.Fe_(3)O_(4)-L can still maintain a high adsorption capacity after five cycles of adsorption-desorption experiments.Cu^(2+),Zn^(2+)and Pb^(2+)mainly exist as CuFe_(2)O_(4),Zn(OH)2,ZnFe_(2)O_(4)and PbS after being adsorbed by Fe_(3)O_(4)-L,which is the result of the combination of physical diffusion,ion exchange and surface complexation reaction. 展开更多

A novel porous coordination polymer,iron naphthalenedicarboxylate Fe(OH)(1,4-NDC)·2H2O is hydrothermally synthesized by the reaction of FeSO4·7H2O and 1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid(1,4-H2NDC) at 150℃.The compound crystallizes in a tetragonal space group P42/nmc:a=2.1447(4) nm,c=0.68849(14) nm,V=3.1669(11) nm3,Z=8,R=0.0845,wR=0.1829.The crystal structure exhibits a three-dimensional framework which is composed of infinite chains of corner-sharing octahedral Fe(OH)2O4 with 1,4-NDC ligands forming two types of channels with square-shaped cross-sections.The large channels present a cross-section of 0.76 nm×0.76 nm,while the small channels are about 0.30 nm×0.30 nm.No structural transformation occurs after removing the guest water molecules,while a robust structure generates with permanent porosity.The adsorption measurements show that the anhydrous sample of the compound can adsorb CO2 into its pores.The adsorption isotherms for methanol,acetone,tetrahydrofuran and benzene are also measured. 展开更多

因工业废水污染严重,该文研究制备了一种有效除钼吸附剂,探究对含钼废水的去除效果并找到最佳条件组合及最佳解吸方案。采用一步水解氧化法和交联法分别制备Mn_(3)O_(4)纳米粒子和Mn_(3)O_(4)/壳聚糖(Mn_(3)O_(4)/CTS)复合纳米粒子,使... 因工业废水污染严重,该文研究制备了一种有效除钼吸附剂,探究对含钼废水的去除效果并找到最佳条件组合及最佳解吸方案。采用一步水解氧化法和交联法分别制备Mn_(3)O_(4)纳米粒子和Mn_(3)O_(4)/壳聚糖(Mn_(3)O_(4)/CTS)复合纳米粒子,使用正交法确定Mn_(3)O_(4)/CTS除钼的最佳组合,并将单因素控制变量法应用于解吸试验,分析不同解吸条件下的解吸性能。结果表明,无水乙醇12 mL、NaOH 110 mL、温度40℃、反应1.5 h为最佳制备Mn_(3)O_(4)粒子条件,除钼率达70%以上;Mn_(3)O_(4)/CTS粒子在壳聚糖与Mn_(3)O_(4)质量比为3∶1、乙酸30 mL、戊二醛2 mL、150 r/min转速下制备的除钼效果最佳,去除率为90.62%;影响除钼程度顺序为初始pH>吸附剂量>振荡速度>温度;确定最佳解吸液为0.05 mol/L的NaOH,解吸时间30 min,解吸温度40℃,在5次解吸后仍能满足除钼率超80%。制备的Mn_(3)O_(4)/CTS复合纳米粒子除钼效果好,具有优良且稳定的再生效果。 展开更多

设计并合成了一种以磁性纳米粒子为核,聚合物为中间层,金属有机骨架材料为外层的三层结构磁性复合材料(Fe_(3)O_(4)@PAA@ZIF-8)。首先利用溶剂热法制备Fe_(3)O_(4)纳米粒子,然后通过蒸馏沉淀聚合法在Fe_(3)O_(4)纳米粒子表面包覆聚丙烯... 设计并合成了一种以磁性纳米粒子为核,聚合物为中间层,金属有机骨架材料为外层的三层结构磁性复合材料(Fe_(3)O_(4)@PAA@ZIF-8)。首先利用溶剂热法制备Fe_(3)O_(4)纳米粒子,然后通过蒸馏沉淀聚合法在Fe_(3)O_(4)纳米粒子表面包覆聚丙烯酸(PAA)层,最后通过原位沉积法在PAA外部包覆ZIF-8。在对Fe_(3)O_(4)@PAA@ZIF-8的组成和结构进行表征的基础上,深入研究其对孔雀石绿(MG)的吸附性能。透射电子显微镜(TEM)显示Fe_(3)O_(4)@PAA@ZIF-8具有明显的三层结构,Fe_(3)O_(4)的平均粒径为117nm,PAA层厚度约为17 nm,ZIF-8层的厚度约为14 nm。Fe_(3)O_(4)@PAA@ZIF-8对MG的吸附量随着p H的升高而增大,吸附过程符合准二阶动力学模型和Langmuir等温吸附模型。此外,Fe_(3)O_(4)@PAA@ZIF-8还表现出良好的重复利用性能,8次循环利用后对MG(500 mg·L^(-1))的最大吸附量仍可达982 mg·g^(-1)。 展开更多

The Schiff base form of the 4-acylpyrazolone ligand was immobilized on the silica surface by reaction of 3-aminopropyl silica with 4-acetyl-5-methyl-2-phenyl-2,4-dihydro-pyrazol-3-one in 97% yield, producing grafted silica with 0.77 mmol/g ligand loading. This surface modified silica was shown to be selective in the adsorption of Yb3+ ions from dilute aqueous solutions, for which 98% adsorption was observed from a 1.0×10-5 mol/L aq. solution at pH 6.7, after 24 h at room temperature. Six other lanthanides studied Eu3+, Gd3+, Nd3+, Tb3+, Sm3+ and La3+ showed moderate to weaker adsorptions of 39%, 28%, 16%, 12%, 11% and 5% respectively under similar conditions. 展开更多

Three kinds of activated carbons were prepared using coconut-shells as carbon precursors and characterized by XRD, FT-IR and texture property test. The results indicate that the prepared activated carbons were mainly amorphous and only a few impurity groups were adsorbed on their surfaces. The texture property test reveals that the activated carbons displayed different texture properties, especially the micropore size distribution. The adsorption capacities of the activated carbons were investigated by adsorbing CH4, CO2, N2 and O2 at 25 ?C in the pressure range of 0-200 kPa. The results reveal that all the activated carbons had high CO2 adsorption capacity, one of which had the highest CO2 adsorption value of 2.55 mmol/g at 200 kPa. And the highest adsorption capacity for CH4 of the activated carbons can reach 1.93 mmol/g at 200 kPa. 为研究煤矿采空区封闭区遗煤吸附C_(2)H_(4)的演化特征,以宁夏灵新煤矿不粘煤为研究对象,采用容量法进行煤吸附C_(2)H_(4)试验,分析温压与粒径对煤吸附C_(2)H_(4)过程中的吸附量、吸附速率和吸附热力学等特征变化的影响。研究表明:当温... 为研究煤矿采空区封闭区遗煤吸附C_(2)H_(4)的演化特征,以宁夏灵新煤矿不粘煤为研究对象,采用容量法进行煤吸附C_(2)H_(4)试验,分析温压与粒径对煤吸附C_(2)H_(4)过程中的吸附量、吸附速率和吸附热力学等特征变化的影响。研究表明:当温度为30~60℃、压力为0.15~0.45 MPa、粒径为20~120目时,无论是温度降低、压力升高还是粒径减小,C_(2)H_(4)的吸附量均增加;吸附过程随时间由快变慢,进而趋于平衡,吸附速率快速趋于0;温度与粒径不变,平衡压力越大吸附速率越大;温度与压力不变,粒径越小吸附速率越快。吸附量相同,粒径越小等量吸附热越低;各粒径煤样吸附C_(2)H_(4)的等量吸附热为0.69~40.23 kJ/mol,属于物理吸附。引入压力修正系数进行拟合,温度不变,压力和粒径与吸附自由能降低值呈正比关系;粒径不变,温度与吸附自由能降低值呈反比关系。各粒径煤样吸附C_(2)H_(4)的吸附熵均为负值,吸附量增大,温度降低,吸附熵值均增大;吸附量相同条件下,粒径越大,吸附熵值越大。 展开更多

A new medium-temperature (200-400 °C) adsorbent material for oxygen removal and air separation, YBaCo4O7+δ, was prepared by the solid-state reaction method. This new adsorbent could adsorb a large quantity of oxygen in the temperature range of 200-370 °C. Adsorbed oxygen could be released by raising temperature over 400 °C or by switching the atmosphere from oxygen to nitrogen. This oxygen adsorption and desorption process had good reproducibility. Taking advantage of this unique oxygen intake/release behavior, a nitrogen purification process was investigated. The results showed that YBaCo4O7+δ material was a promising candidate for the oxygen sorption process and could be used to produce high-purity nitrogen or to remove trace oxygen from other gases. 展开更多

A novel photo-catalytic system composed of N-doped biochars(NBCs),MnFe_(2)O_(4) and sulfite activation under ultraviolet(NBCs/MnFe_(2)O_(4)/sulfite/UV)was constructed to realize the efficient eliminate of tetracycline(TC).As the carrier of MnFe_(2)O_(4),NBCs were synthesized from alfalfa,which has large specific surface area,graphite like structure and hierarchical porous structure.The adsorption isotherm indicated that NBCs/MnFe_(2)O_(4)-2:1 had the best adsorption performance for TC(347.56 mg g^(-1)).Through synergistic adsorption and photocatalysis,the removal rate of TC reached 84%,which was significantly higher than that of MnFe_(2)O_(4).Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and Photoluminescence(PL)characterization results showed that the introduction of NBCs improved the separation efficiency of photogenerated electron and hole pairs and enhanced the photocatalytic performance.Moreover,the adsorption,degradation mechanism and degradation path of TC by the catalyst were systematically analyzed by coupling HPLC–MS measurement with the theoretical calculation.Considering the advantages of excellent degradation performance,low cost,easy separation and environmental friendliness of NBCs/MnFe_(2)O_(4),this work was expected to provide a new path for the practical application of biochar. 展开更多

Effects of NHj concentiation, solution/soil ratio and temperature on NH_4^+adsorption were studied in a Eum-Orthic Anthrosol. The slopes of the soil NH_4^+ adsorptionisotherms and the fitted n, the coefficient for the adsorption intensity, and kappa, the coefficientrelated to adsorption capacity, of the Freundlich equation increased with increasing solution/soilratio (SSR) and with decreasing temperature (T). For the range of experimental conditions, the valueof delta q/delta c, the rate of change of the amount of NH_4^+ adsorbed in the soil solid phase (q)with respect to the equilibrium concentration of NH_4^+ in soil solution (c), was 0.840, indicatingthat q increased with increasing c. From 2 to 45 deg C, delta q/delta SSR, the rate of change of qwith respect to SSR, decreased from 2.598 to 1.996, showing that q increased with increasing SSR,while its increasing rate decreased with temperature. From SSR 1:1 to 20:1, delta q/delta T, therate of change of q with respect to T, decreased from -- 0.095 to -- 0.361, indicating that qdecreased with increasing temperature, and at the same time the negative effect of temperaturebecame larger as SSR increased. Thus under the experimental conditions the order of importance indetermining the amount of NH_4^+ adsorbed in the soil solid phase was delta q/delta SSR > deltaq/delta c > |delta q/delta T|, indicating that the greatest effect on the amount of NH_4^+ adsorbedwas with the solution/soil ratio; the equilibrium concentration of NH_4^+ had a lesser effect; andtemperature had the least effect. 展开更多

To exploit an effective adsorbent to separate hydrogen and methane, microporous titanium silicate molecular sieve NaETS-4 was synthesized and modified by strontium. The adsorption characteristics and diffusion behaviors of the prepared titanosilicate molecular sieve were studied by concentration pulse chromatography. And the effects of ion-exchange and dehydration temperature on adsorbent structure and gas diffusion were also discussed. The results showed that the thermal stability and Henry's Law constants were enhanced and micropore diffusivity decreased after exchanging Na+ with Sr2+. With the increase of dehydration temperature, Henry's Law constant and micropore diffusivity of CI-I4 decreased in both NaETS-4 and SrETS-4. While for 1-12 in SrETS-4, the increase of Henry's Law constant and the decrease of diffusion rate can be attributed to the shrinks of pore diameter resulting from the relocation of Sr2+. Correspondingly, the kinetic selectivity of H2/CH4 reached 8.91 indicating its potentiality in separating H2 and CH4. 展开更多
