Over the past 70 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China,great changes have been seen in the financial industry in terms of its nature,function,scale,structure and other features.It has experienced six stages of development,namely,inception and consolidation,arduous growth,exploration and restructuring,segmentation,fictitious economy orientation,and real economy promotion and risk prevention.The tremendous success and useful experience made during this period have largely bolstered the prosperity and stability of the Chinese economy,improved Chinese people’s living standards,and exerted a profound impact on China’s economy and society.Based on its development pattern,the Chinese financial sector will expect further openingup at home and abroad and a growing capacity in serving the real economy,while new business forms and models will emerge rapidly and stronger preventive measures against financial risks will be needed.In response to the financial development in the new era,proactive and pragmatic measures need to be in place to safeguard the stable and sound development of the financial industry.

Family change in China:a-70 year perspective

From the perspective of family life cycle,and drawing on data from national population censuses,and one percent population surveys,as well as other relevant resources,this paper examines the changing trajectory of the Chinese family over the past 70 years,particularly since the reform and opening-up in 1978.It has been found that the changes of family life cycle are embedded in the broad context of socioeconomic transformation and demographic transition.The delayed age at first marriage has postponed the onset of family formation;the substantially reduced number of children has shortened the length of family expansion,but increased the time span of family stability and empty-nest,and the family is becoming old due to low birthrate and longer life expectancy.In other words,the six-stages associated with the traditional family life cycle has been largely reshaped in the past 70 years,which in turn substantially compromised traditional family functions.In the new era,therefore,it is necessary for the government to provide family-friendly policies in childcare and elderly support in order to fill in the gap in family-oriented public services,and to improve the potentials of long-term development of Chinese families.

In retrospect of foreign literature studies in China from 1949 to 2019,we have to acknowledge two fundamental facts.Firstly,although in the initial 30 years of this period foreign literature studies in China largely followed the Soviet model,neglecting Western literary and cultural traditions to some extentwith over a decade under the influence of extreme"leftist"trendsit was during this time that the groundwork for the academic framework of foreign literature studies was painstakingly laid.Secondly,with the influx of Western ideas,foreign literature studies during the subsequent 40 years underwent a complete paradigm shift,providing the spiritual nourishment for and playing a pioneering role in liberating thought and rectifying disorders.However,this period saw a conspicuous adoption of Western paradigms in foreign literature studies,thereby somewhat abandoning certain valuable traditions and academic stances that ought to have been upheld.Meanwhile,foreign literature studies in this period also experienced an undiscriminating acceptance and hasty integration of ideas,leading to a mixture of the good and the bad.This essay provides an important overview of 70 years of foreign literature studies in China,though the specific situations are much more complex.In recent years,as the ideas of cultural confidence and a community of shared future for mankind deeply resonate with the public,the principles of serving the Chinese people and Chinese socialist cause are increasingly becoming significant recognitions within China's foreign literature scholarly community.

This paper provided an overview of literature on life expectancy of Chinese popu-lation,elaborated the characteristics of the significant increase in the average life expectancy(ALE)of Chinese population over the past 70 years since the founding of PRC,analyzed the major factors contributing to the improvement in the ALE,and highlight the needs to put greater emphasize to increase average healthy life expectancy(AHLE),to narrow the regional differences in AHLE,to advocate and promote healthy lifestyles,and to prevent and control pollution persistently and effectively.
