Sensorless control of AC motor drives,which takes the advantages of cost saving,higher reliability,and less hardware,has been developed for several decades.Among the existing speed sensorless control methods,nonlinear Kalman filter-based one has attached widespread attention due to its superb estimation accuracy and inherent resistibility to noise.However,the determination of noise covariance matrix and robustness of model uncertainties are still open issues in practice.A great number of studies try to solve these problems in resent years.This paper reviews the application of extended Kalman filter(EKF),unscented Kalman filter(UKF),and cubature Kalman filter(CKF)in speed sensorless control for AC motor drives.As an iterative algorithm,EKF has advantages in processor implementation.However,EKF suffers from the linearization error and model uncertainties when applying to sensorless control system.This paper presents the predominant improvements of EKF which is also applicative in UKF and CKF mostly. 展开更多

In recent years,the application of sensorless AC motor drives is expanding in areas ranging from industrial applications to household electrical appliances.As is well known,the advantages of sensorless motor drives include lower cost,increased reliability,reduced hardware complexity,better noise immunity,and less maintenance requirements.With the development of modern industrial automation,more advanced sensorless control strategies are needed to meet the requirements of applications.For sensorless motor drives at low-and zero-speed operation,inverter nonlinearities and motor parameter variation have significant impact on the stability of control system.Meanwhile,high observer’s bandwidth is required in high-speed region.This paper introduces the state of art of recent progress in sensorless AC motor drives.In addition,this paper presents the sensorless control strategies we investigated for practical industrial and household applications.Both advanced sensorless drives of induction motor(IM)and permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM)are presented in this paper. 展开更多

This paper employs an extended Kalman filter (EKF) to estimate the rotor position and speed of a vector controlled surface-mounted permanent magnet (PM) brushless AC (BLAC) motor from measured terminal voltages and currents only. Both full-order and simplified EKFs are employed and their simulated performance capabilities are compared. Excellent agreement is achieved between estimated and commanded results. The EKF is also employed to identify the stator flux-linkage due to the PMs, which is influenced by temperature variation and magnetic saturation. 展开更多

The novel pixel consists of three tr... A low power 640×480 OLED-on-silicon chip design that used in microdisplay was presented. A novel pixel circuit was proposed to meet the special requirement of OLED-on-silicon. The novel pixel consists of three transistors and one capacitor (3T 1C). It has simple structure and can effectively reduce the current glitch generated during the AC driving from 55 pA to 7.5 pA, so that it can improve the precision of grayscale of display as well as extend the lifetime of (])LED material. Except for the pixel array, low power row driver, column driver and other functional modules were also integrated on the chip. Several techniques were adopted to reduce the power consumption and frequency requirement of the chip. Finally, a 16×3×12 resolution chip was fabricated with standard 0.35 μm CMOS process of CSM and the chip can operate correctly. 展开更多

A new voltage programmed pixel circuit with top emission design for active-matrix organic light- emitting diode (AMOLED) displays is presented and verified by HSPICE simulations. The proposed pixel circuit consists of five poly-Si TFTs, and can effectively compensate for the threshold voltage variation of the driving TFT. Meanwhile, the proposed pixel circuit offers an AC driving mode for the OLED by the two adjacent pulse voltage sources, which can suppress the degradation of the OLED. Moreover, a high contrast ratio can be achieved by the proposed pixel circuit since the OLED does not emit any light except for the emission period. 展开更多

A novel COB (chip-on-board) structure with integrated multifunction is presented. The structure is prepared by laminating copper plate with FR4 board and then coating with a silver layer to offer high reflectivity and high conductivity. In comparison with MCPCB (aluminum) and ceramics (Al2O3) board, the substrate brings about 10% higher light extracting efficiency than aluminum board and 5% higher flux maintenance ratio than ceramics (Al2O3) board at 3000 h. With integrated multifunction, through an IC component driving high voltage serial LED chips, the COB can be directly connected to AC 110 V or 220 V power supply in lighting application. 展开更多
