However, the analysis of the x-ray spectroscopy emitted from plasmas produced by a ns laser Jsually needs the help of a code or some assumptions. In this paper, a diagnostic idea of using line-pairs emitted from a doubly-excited state is proposed. By using the method presented in this paper, Te and the fractional population ratio of bare nuclei and H-like ions are directly obtained from the emission intensity ratios. 展开更多

Influence of surface etching pretreatment on PEO process of eutectic Al–Si alloy 被引量:1

To solve the problems generally encountered during the plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO) of Al alloys with high Si content, a pretreatment of chemical etching was applied before the process. The influence of such pretreatment was studied by SEM, EDS and XRD. The pretreatment presents a significant effect on positive voltage at the beginning stage of PEO, leading to higher voltage over the whole process. The difference between the positive voltages of non-etched and etched specimens decreases gradually with the increase of processing time. The pretreatment exhibits much less influence on the negative voltage. For the sample with surface pretreatment, the average growth rate of PEO coating is increased from 0.50 to 0.84 μm·min-1and the energy consumption is decreased from 6.30 to 4.36 k W·h·μm-1·m-2. At the same time, both mullite and amorphous Si O2 contents are decreased in the coating. 展开更多

In the present investigation, Ni_(50)Ti_(25)Al_(25)(at.%) mechanically alloyed powder is deposited on carbon steel substrate.Before the coating process, the substrate is heated to temperature ranging from room temperature to 400℃. The microstructure, porosity, microhardness, adhesion strength, and corrosion behavior of the coating are investigated at different substrate temperatures. Results show that coating porosity is lower on high temperature surface. Microhardness and adhesion strength of the deposition layer on the substrate without preheating have lower values than with preheating. The polarization test result shows that corrosion performance of the coating is dependent on micro cracks and porosities and the increasing of substrate temperature can improve the quality of coating and corrosion performance. 展开更多

The photoionization cross sections of the levels belonging to the ground configuration [Ne]3s^2 3p^6 3d of Ge^13+ are investigated using the fully relativistic R-matrix method in the 2p - 3d excitation region. The photoionization cross section is dominated by 2p - 3d resonances. The detailed resonance structures are described and analysed with the resonance positions, widths and oscillator strengths to be determined. Good agreement is obtained between the length and velocity forms of the resonance oscillator strengths. The relative difference is less than 8%. 展开更多

In this study,ceramic coatings were deposited on 6061 Al alloy using a plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)technique,and the effect of concentrations of KOH and Na_2SiO_3 as electrolytes for PEO process was studied on microstructure,chemical composition,and electrochemical behavior of PEO coatings formed on the 6061 Al alloy.The results indicated that the increase in concentration of KOH led to rise in electrical conductivity of electrolyte.Consequently,the breakdown voltage reduced,which in turn improved the surface quality and the corrosion behavior.Moreover,the increase in concentration of Na_2SiO_3 resulted in the increase in incorporation of Si in the coating,which led to a higher corrosion potential in the concentration of 4 g L^(-1).According to this investigation,the best protection behavior of coatings can be obtained when the KOH and Na_2SiO_3 concentrations in PEO electrolyte are equal to 4 g L^(-1). 展开更多

Effects of carrier gas composition(N2/air) on NH3 production, energy efficiency regarding NH3 production and byproducts formation from plasma-catalytic decomposition of urea were systematically investigated using an Al2 O3-packed dielectric barrier discharge(DBD) reactor at room temperature. Results show that the presence of O2 in the carrier gas accelerates the conversion of urea but leads to less generation of NH3. The final yield of NH3 in the gas phase decreased from 70.5%, 78.7%, 66.6% and 67.2% to 54.1%, 51.7%, 49.6% and 53.4% for applied voltages of 17, 19, 21 and 23 kV, respectively when air was used as the carrier gas instead of N2.From the viewpoint of energy savings, however, air carrier gas is better than N2 due to reduced energy consumption and increased energy efficiency for decomposition of a fixed amount of urea. Carrier gas composition has little influence on the major decomposition pathways of urea under the synergetic effects of plasma and Al2 O3 catalyst to give NH3 and CO2 as the main products. Compared to a small amount of N2 O formed with N2 as the carrier gas, however,more byproducts including N2O and NO2 in the gas phase and NH4 NO3 in solid deposits were produced with air as the carrier gas, probably due to the unproductive consumption of NH3, the possible intermediate HNCO and even urea by the abundant active oxygen species and nitrogen oxides generated in air-DBD plasma. 展开更多
