Formation mechanism of fault accommodation zones under combined stress in graben basin:Implications from geomechanical modeling

A fault accommodation zone is a type of structure that is defined as regulating displacement and strain between faults structure.Increasing numbers of fault accommodation zones are being identified in graben basins,indicating the potential exploration target and petroleum accumulation areas.This study aims to analyze the formation mechanism and development of fault accommodation zones under combined stress by a numerical simulation method considering geomechanical modeling.Using three-dimensional(3-D)seismic interpretation and fractal dimension method,exampled with the Dongxin fault zone,the fault activity and fault combination pattern were conducted to quantitatively characterize the activity difference in fault accommodation zones.Combined with mechanical experiment test,a geomehcanical model was established for fault accommodation zones in a graben basin.Integrating the paleostress numerical simulations and structural physical simulation experiment,the developmental characteristics and genetic mechanism of fault accommodation zones were summarized.Influenced by multi movements and combined stresses,three significant tectonic evolution stages of the Dongxing Fault Zone(DXFZ)were distinguished:During the E_(s)^(3)sedimentary period,the large difference in the stress,strain,and rupture distribution in various faults were significant,and this stage was the key generation period for the prototype of the DXFZ,including the FAZ between large-scale faults.During the E_(s)^(2)sedimentary period,the EW-trending symmetric with opposite dipping normal faults and the NE-SW trending faults with large scale were furtherly developed.The junction area of two secondary normal faults were prone to be ruptured,performing significant period for inheriting and developing characteristics of fault accommodation zones.During the Es1 sedimentary period,the high-order faults in the DXFZ exhibited the obvious fault depressions and strike-slip activity,and the fault accommodation zones were furtherly inherited and developed.This stage was the molded and formative period of the FAZ,the low-order faults,and the depression in the DXFZ.

SAGeLogE: A Decision Support System for Students’ Accommodation Management

SAGeLogE is the acronym of “Système d’Aide à la Gestion de Logements étudiants” which means student accommodation management support system. It’s a multi-criteria decision support system designed to manage accommodation allocation for university students. Within SAGeLogE we developed the “Minimum of Ranks” (MIRA) aggregation method. MIRA method involves the application of multi-criteria decision-making methods (MCDM) to initially obtain different ranking. Thus, we chose the Weighted Sum Method (WSM), Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and Combined Compromise Solution (CoCoSo) methods to be implemented in SAGeLogE. To prioritize the weights of criteria, the Anality Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was used. The interest of using the MIRA method was to obtain a compromised ranking coming from these three multi-criteria decision-making methods (WSM, TOPSIS, CoCoSo). So, we know that the accommodation to be allocated to students is always lower than the number of accommodation requests received by the organization. Thus, SAGeLogE proposed a technique that makes it easier to select students ranked by the multi-criteria decision-making and MIRA methods according to a method of calculation of quota of available accommodations within university residences. Finally, university accommodation managers had a wide choice of student ranking according to the methods implemented in SAGeLogE. The SAGeLogE experiment was carried out on the site of Toamasina University in Madagascar for an academic year with 2026 student accommodation applications received. The experimentation showed the ability of SAGeLogE to achieve the result.

Application of Color Psychology in Korean Brand Identity Design-Etude House

The purpose of this analysis is to delve into the application of color psychology in the logo design of Korean cosmetic brands,using Etude House as an example for an exhaustive analysis.By examining the history of the Etude House brand,the evolution of the logo design,and the changes in color choices,we analyze the traditional concepts of color symbolism in Korean culture and the culture of color in contemporary society in order to reveal the important role of color in cosmetic brand image.Through an in-depth analysis of the use of color in Etude House’s brand identity,we further analyze the impact of color on consumer emotions and purchasing behavior,as well as the potential impact of brand identity changes on market performance.Finally,the conclusions of the analysis summarize the practical application of color psychology in Etude House’s brand logo design,suggest recommendations for other Korean cosmetic brands to draw upon in their logo design,and discuss future directions.

Clinical risk factors for preterm birth and evaluating maternal psychology in the postpartum period

BACKGROUND Although the specific pathogenesis of preterm birth(PTB)has not been thoroughly clarified,it is known to be related to various factors,such as pregnancy complications,maternal socioeconomic factors,lifestyle habits,reproductive history,environmental and psychological factors,prenatal care,and nutritional status.PTB has serious implications for newborns and families and is associated with high mortality and complications.Therefore,the prediction of PTB risk can facilitate early intervention and reduce its resultant adverse consequences.AIM To analyze the risk factors for PTB to establish a PTB risk prediction model and to assess postpartum anxiety and depression in mothers.METHODS A retrospective analysis of 648 consecutive parturients who delivered at Shenzhen Bao’an District Songgang People’s Hospital between January 2019 and January 2022 was performed.According to the diagnostic criteria for premature infants,the parturients were divided into a PTB group(n=60)and a full-term(FT)group(n=588).Puerperae were assessed by the Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self rating Depression Scale(SDS),based on which the mothers with anxiety and depression symptoms were screened for further analysis.The factors affecting PTB were analyzed by univariate analysis,and the related risk factors were identified by logistic regression.RESULTS According to univariate analysis,the PTB group was older than the FT group,with a smaller weight change and greater proportions of women who underwent artificial insemination and had gestational diabetes mellitus(P<0.05).In addition,greater proportions of women with reproductive tract infections and greater white blood cell(WBC)counts(P<0.05),shorter cervical lengths in the second trimester and lower neutrophil percentages(P<0.001)were detected in the PTB group than in the FT group.The PTB group exhibited higher postpartum SAS and SDS scores than did the FT group(P<0.0001),with a higher number of mothers experiencing anxiety and depression(P<0.001).Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that a greater maternal weight change,the presence of gestational diabetes mellitus,a shorter cervical length in the second trimester,a greater WBC count,and the presence of maternal anxiety and depression were risk factors for PTB(P<0.01).Moreover,the risk score of the FT group was lower than that of the PTB group,and the area under the curve of the risk score for predicting PTB was greater than 0.9.CONCLUSION This study highlights the complex interplay between postpartum anxiety and PTB,where maternal anxiety may be a potential risk factor for PTB,with PTB potentially increasing the incidence of postpartum anxiety in mothers.In addition,a greater maternal weight change,the presence of gestational diabetes mellitus,a shorter cervical length,a greater WBC count,and postpartum anxiety and depression were identified as risk factors for PTB.

Coordinated planning for flexible interconnection and energy storage system in low-voltage distribution networks to improve the accommodation capacity of photovoltaic

The increasing proportion of distributed photovoltaics(DPVs)and electric vehicle charging stations in low-voltage distribution networks(LVDNs)has resulted in challenges such as distribution transformer overloads and voltage violations.To address these problems,we propose a coordinated planning method for flexible interconnections and energy storage systems(ESSs)to improve the accommodation capacity of DPVs.First,the power-transfer characteristics of flexible interconnection and ESSs are analyzed.The equipment costs of the voltage source converters(VSCs)and ESSs are also analyzed comprehensively,considering the differences in installation and maintenance costs for different installation locations.Second,a bilevel programming model is established to minimize the annual comprehensive cost and yearly total PV curtailment capacity.Within this framework,the upper-level model optimizes the installation locations and capacities of the VSCs and ESSs,whereas the lower-level model optimizes the operating power of the VSCs and ESSs.The proposed model is solved using a non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm with an elite strategy(NSGA-II).The effectiveness of the proposed planning method is validated through an actual LVDN scenario,which demonstrates its advantages in enhancing PV accommodation capacity.In addition,the economic benefits of various planning schemes with different flexible interconnection topologies and different PV grid-connected forms are quantitatively analyzed,demonstrating the adaptability of the proposed coordinated planning method.

Research on the Generation Path of Heuristic Teaching Language Based on Positive Psychology Theory

As the essence of traditional Chinese educational thought,heuristic teaching has gradually enriched and devel-oped its ideas through the continuous efforts of educational researchers of the past dynasties.In front-line teach-ing,heuristic teaching,as a teaching principle that can help teachers and students to interact and learn,undoubtedly plays an important role in students’acquisition of knowledge and scientific thinking activities.But teachers’understanding of heuristic teaching is not the same.In actual teaching,there are obvious gaps in language ability among different teachers.This research aims to enrich the heuristic teaching theory based on the perspective of psychology,and provide a certain theoretical basis for teacher training.Through the research and analysis of the generation path of the heuristic teaching language,this paper helps more teachers realize the advantages of the heuristic teaching language,improve their own heuristic teaching language level,and provide reference for the scientific teaching evaluation standard.We apply the heuristic instruction language approach proposed in this study and apply it to real classrooms.In the application,it can be clearly found that the students’thinking and participation have been strengthened,and the teaching effect has been significantly improved com-pared with the past,which indicates that the heuristic teaching language generation path in this study has certain practical application value.

Scheimpflug Imaging of the Anterior Eye Segment during Standardized Accommodation Stimulation in Patients with Emmetropia, Myopia and Hypermetropia

Understanding of the biomechanics of the accommodative apparatus in the eyes with different refraction is important for solving the problems of theoretical and practical ophthalmology. Purpose: To determine the changes of anterior eye segment dimensions during accommodation response in normal eyes and in patients with myopia, hypermetropia. Methods and Material: 116 eyes (56 patients aged from 18 to 30 years, refraction from -2.0 to + 2.0 D) were examined. All the patients underwent a full ophthalmological examination. The ocular anterior segment was imaged using a rotational Scheimpflug camera Pentacam HR (Oculus, Wetzlar, Germany) under non- and 3.0 D of accommodative demands. The statistical data were represented as the mean value ± standard deviation (M ± SD). The Shapiro-Wilk test was used to assess the normality distribution. Wilcoxon test was used for comparison. Results: Results showed an increase in the optical density of the crystalline lens, a pupil diameter decrease and changing of the iris profile during accommodation in all patients. An increase in the total corneal aberrations and decrease in the corneal spherical aberration were revealed only in emmetropic eyes. Conclusions: The accommodative response is a multicomponent process. Scheimpflug visualization revealed the differences in the accommodative response in normal and ametropic eyes.

Comparison of Self-Strength, Seeking Help and Happiness between Pakistani and Chinese Adolescents: A Positive Psychology Inquiry

Adolescents’emotions and preferences are influenced by their childhood experiences.In today’s world,there is a pervasive eagerness for happiness.Happiness has been linked to feelings of self-strength,seeking help,and psy-chological health.The current quantitative research was designed with a positive psychological perspective to compare Pakistani and Chines adolescents’self-strength,seeking help,and happiness.The research design of the study was causal-comparative.The study population consisted of 400 Pakistani and 409 Chinese adolescents studying in the elementary grades of both countries.The sample was selected by using a simple random sampling technique.It consisted of 413 boys(51%)and 396 girls(49%),319(39)of them were from the age group of 13–14 years,386(48%)of them were from the age group of 15–16 years,and 104(12.9%)were from the age group of 17–18 years.Three different scales were developed to collect study data.Independent sample t-test and simple linear regression were used to test study hypotheses.The analysis revealed that Pakistani adolescents have signifi-cantly higher self-strength,seeking help and happiness than their counterparts.It was also found that adolescents’self-strength and seeking help significant affect their happiness.Based on thefindings,it was suggested to inves-tigate the factors contributing to the improved self-strength,seeking help,and happiness of Pakistani adolescents.It was also recommended to investigate the mediating effect of adolescents’self-strength on the relationship between their happiness and seeking help.

The Big Five Model in Relation to Job Performance:A New Look at Organizational Psychology

The Big Five Theory is often regarded as psychology’s most influential personality theoretical approach.The goal of this study is to examine the role of the Big Five Theory in the workplace,especially which personality qualities are more likely to predict work success.Which traits should companies emphasize throughout the hiring and selection processes?How can businesses use the Big Five personality model to locate employees that are more productive,efficient,and devoted to the organization’s goals?A detailed assessment of existing recent research addresses the aforementioned issues.Following a review of many current articles on the subject,it was established that using this model had a positive influence on individual and group performance,working relationships,manager work performance,and workplace innovation.

Transformation Design of Old Parks Based on Behavior Psychology: A Case Study of Hefei Xiaoyaojin Park

City park undertakes the function of urban core green island. Hefei Xiaoyaojin Park providesa leisure and entertainment place for Hefei citizens. Although it has been continuously transformed andupgraded, there are still many places to be improved. Through behavior observation and questionnaire,the usage and satisfaction evaluation of tourists in Xiaoyaojin Park were obtained, and the transformationdesign of Xiaoyaojin Park was analyzed from the perspective of behavior psychology by analyzing thebehavior of tourists in different zones of Xiaoyaojin. Based on the premise of exploring the behaviorof tourists in different spaces, a city park environment that meets the needs of tourists can be created bypromoting the cultural context of the Three Kingdoms, improving the plant landscape and infrastructureof the site, optimizing the spatial function, and exploring the park design and transformation strategy that ismore in line with the needs of people, in order to provide new ideas for the future landscape transformationof Xiaoyaojin park, and offer reference suggestions for the future transformation design of old city parks.

Designing interactive glazing through an engineering psychology approach:Six augmented reality scenarios that envision future car human-machine interface

Background With an increasing number of vehicles becoming autonomous,intelligent,and connected,paying attention to the future usage of car human-machine interface with these vehicles should become more relevant.Several studies have addressed car HMI but were less attentive to designing and implementing interactive glazing for every day(autonomous)driving contexts.Methods Reflecting on the literature,we describe an engineering psychology practice and the design of six novel future user scenarios,which envision the application of a specific set of augmented reality(AR)support user interactions.Additionally,we conduct evaluations on specific scenarios and experiential prototypes,which reveal that these AR scenarios aid the target user groups in experiencing a new type of interaction.The overall evaluation is positive with valuable assessment results and suggestions.Conclusions This study can interest applied psychology educators who aspire to teach how AR can be operationalized in a human-centered design process to students with minimal pre-existing expertise or minimal scientific knowledge in engineering psychology.

Application of Contemporary Educational Psychology in University Education

A Study of the Impact of Personality and Social Psychology on Mental Health

With the continuous development and progress of economy,people's living standard and culture level have been improved,but with it,there are also various kinds of life stress,study stress and work stress,which make people's mental health problems in life more andmore prominent,and how to improve students'mental health level is the main task of each education stage.The current psychology discipline system has been perfected,including personality psychology and social psychology,which are effectively applied in the actual mental health education or psychological guidance work,and are key disciplines to improve people's mental health.The theoretical system of personality and social psychology consists of three theories:the theory of planned behavior,the theory of explanatory levels,and the theory of self-determination,all of which have an irreplaceable influence on mental health.In this regard,this paper combines relevant literature and work experience to study in depth the influence of personality ansocial psychology on mental health.

Analysis of Status and Influencing Factors of Psychology Resilience Level in Cancer Patients Undergoing Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy

Objective:To analyse the status and discuss influencing factors of the psychology resilience level of cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy,and to provide evidence for clinical rehabilitation intervention.Methods:A total of 320 patients with cancer undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy who were hospitalized in the Affiliated Hospital of North China University of Science and Technology and Tangshan Worker’s Hospital in China from September 2022 to November 2022 were selected as the research subjects.The surveys were conducted using the general information questionnaire,Connor-Davidson Scale(CD-RICS),Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS)and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Scale(PSQI).Results:The psychology resilience score of cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy was 64.23±15.20,lower than the average level of resilience of adults in China(70.50±13.48)and American adults’normal value(80.4±12.8).Perceived social support was 58.13±14.04 and positively correlated with the level of psychology resilience(r=0.210,P<0.05).Sleep quality was 10.57±4.85,which showed most people have sleep quality disorder and was negatively correlated with the level of psychology resilience(r=-0.200,P<0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that age,education level and disease stage were the main influencing factors in the level of psychological resilience in cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy(P<0.05).Conclusions:The level of psychological resilience of cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy is at a low level,and there are many influencing factors.Targeted medical care should be carried out according to the factors affecting the level of resilience to promote the mental health of patients.

The Application of Communication Accommodation Theory to Identity Construction:A Case Study of My Fair Lady

Accommodation function comparison following use of contact lens for orthokeratology and spectacle use in myopic children: a prospective controlled trial

AIM： To study effects of orthokeratology（Ortho-k） on accommodation function in myopic children. METHODS： A prospective, non-randomized, case-control study was performed from September to October 2016. Eighty-three children with myopia were divided into two groups. One group was treated with the rigid contact lens for overnight Ortho-k, and the other was treated with single-vision spectacle lens（SVL）. Accommodation function were assessed by accommodative amplitude（AA）, accommodative sensitivity（AS）, accommodative lag（Lag）, negative relative accommodation（NRA）, and positive relative accommodation（PRA） before and 1, 3, 6 and 12 mo after treated. RESULTS： Totally 72 myopic children were finished the follow-up： 37 in Ortho-k group and 35 in SVL group. Wearing time had a significant effect on AA, AS, Lag, and NRA of myopic children in two groups（all P〈0.05）. Meanwhile, there was an interaction effect between wearing time and wearing types（FAA=5.3, FAS=45.5, FLag=7.0, FNRA=3.7, all P〈0.05）. However, the between-group difference of AA（F=0.1）, AS（F=3.2）, Lag（F=1.1）, NRA（F=0.3）, and PRA（F=0.1） showed no significance. AA, AS, NRA, Lag and PRA were improved significantly in Ortho-k group within 1 to 6 mo after wearing. CONCLUSION： Wearing Ortho-k can improve the accommodation function of myopic children, which might be one of the mechanisms for myopia control.
