Methods: Sixty three patients with malignant tumor were divided into three groups: prevention treatment (PT) group (n=23 cases),post chemotherapy treatment (PCT) group( n=22 cases), Western medicine (WM) group ( n=18 cases). The patients in PT, PCT and WM groups were treated respectively from the fifth day on before chemotherapy and from the first day on after chemotherapy, 18 days in all. The patients in WM group were administered Batilol and Leucogen from the first day on after chemotherapy. Changes of leukocytes and immunoglobulin before and after treatment were observed. Results: 1) Acupoint injection of Astragalus Root injectio could increase the number of leukocytes and immunoglobulin content and its effect was better than that of Western medicine (P<0.05); 2) The effect of PT group was better than that of PCT group in preventing and treating virulent and side effects of chemotherapy (P<0.05). Conclusion: It should be stressed on prevention of malignant tumor by using acupoint injection of Astragalus Root for relieving virulent and side effects of chemotherapy.展开更多

Changes of rabbit’s auricular temperature were sampled and recorded by using a thermistorthermometer (connected with a computer) before and after moxibustion stimulation. Results indicated that moxibustion making the skin temperature reach to 48℃ could inhibit the endotoxininduced lowering reaction of auricular temperature, while moxibustion making the skin temperature of 40℃ had no this effect. It revealed that higherskintemperature moxibustion had a thermolytic effect on bodyfever, which had a close relation mainly with polymodal receptors rather than with temperature receptor. It also demonstrated that endotoxininduced changes of auricular temperature could be used as an index for evaluating the thermolytic effect of moxibustion.展开更多

The observation has confirmed that acupuncture is a very effective method for treating this disease, especially to sclerosis patients in the early stage; and furthermore it can slow down the development of the pathological conditions of the patients. Thus it is an important therapeutic method worthy of the choice by European and American clinical doctors.展开更多

Methods We use evidence-based medicine method and data mining technology for ancient and modern acupuncture literature of migraine and functional dyspepsia to uncover the specificity and its laws. We apply multicenter, randomized controlled trials of acupuncture for migraine to identify the specificity from clini-cal aspects; to explain the biological base of the specificity,we analyze the PET/CT and NMR result on migraine and functional dyspepsia cases treated by acupuncture. Results The viewpoint of specificity of acupoint effect and its two fundamental laws (meridian course specificity and meridian qi convergence specificity)were found both in ancient and modern literature; compared to non-acupoints,the acupoints effect was specific on 180 migraine patients in the randomized controlled trials; the results of PET/CT scan showed that brain response to acupoint needling is more obvious than that of non-acupoint needling; NMR detected the influence on metabolic product of acupoint needling is more apparent than non-acupoint needling. Conclusions Our research confirmed that acupoint effect not only has its specificity but also has two fundamental laws:meridian course specificity and meridian qi convergence specificity,of which the biological base is supported by imaging and metabonomic studies.展开更多
