Methods Eighty Kunming male mice were randomly divided into normal group(group A, 15 mice), diabetic gastroparesis model mice group(group B, 12 mice), acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine group(group C, 12 mice), Chinese medicine group(group D, 13 mice) and western medicine group(group E, 13 mice). The mice were intraperitoneally injected with steptozotocin and fed with high-fat diet-induced irregular except the normal group mice, that made mouse model of diabetic gastroparesis. And then, the ACM group were treated by acupuncture at the acupoints of Housanli(后三里 ST 36) and Zhōngw n(中脘 CV 12) combined with Chinese medicine, the CM group were only treated by Chinese medicine; the WM group were treated by domperidone and vitamin B 6. Numbers and expression of ICC, SP and n NOS were detected by immunohistochemical methods. Results After treatment, compared with normal group, ICC and SP indexes of model group were significantly reduced. Compared with model group, all indexes in ACM and CM groups were improved significantly(P0.05, P0.01), but only the positive area and average optical density value in c-Kit and SP in WM group increased obviously(P0.05). Compared with ACM group, no significant difference in c-Kit and SP of CM group were observed(P0.05), but expression of nNOS were increased markedly(P0.01). Besides, c-Kit and SP expressions of WM group were significantly induced was increased remarkably(P0.01). Conclusion Acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine have much better therapeutic effects for diabetic gastroparesis mice, which may be due to repairing ICC damage, upregulating the expression of SP and lowering the expression of nNOS.展开更多

Methods Fifty patients with anovulatory infertility were divided randomly into 2 groups with 25 in the observation group and 25 in the control group. Both herbal decoctions and acupuncture treatment were applied to the observation group. For Chinese herbal medicine, according to different phases of menstrual cycle, Cu Luanpao Tang (促卵泡汤 follicle promote decoction), Cu Pailuan Tang (促卵泡汤 ovulation induce decoction) and Cu Huangti Tang (促黄体汤 corpora luteum promote decoction) was given to the patients; and acupoints such as Guanyuan (关元 CV 4), Zhongji ( 中极 CV 3) and LuSnchao Xue(卵巢穴 Extra point) were selected. The control group was asked to take Clomiphene as well as Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) injection. Observation is undertaken continuously for 6 cycles, and statistics of ovulation rate and pregnancy rate were collected. Results There were no statistical significance of difference of ovulation rate between the two groups(P〉0.05) ; the pregnancy rate of the observation group is 44. 0%(11/25), which is obviously higher than 16.0% (4/25) of the control group (P〈0.05). Comparison was made on Insler score of the cervical mucus and thickness of the endometrium between the 2 groups, and the result showed that both of the indexes of the observation group were better than those of the control group (P〈0.05, P〈0.01). Conclusion Both of the methods, namely ovulation induction with acupuncture and herbal decoctions and with Clomiphene and HCG injection, are effective for enhancing the ovulation rate, while the former one is better than the later one in the pregnancy rate.展开更多

Results: After 6 months, the clinical effect was better in the acupuncture plus herbal medicine group than in the acupuncture group and in the herbal medicine group(P〈 0.05). Conclusion: The curative effect on chronic gastritis was better in the acupuncture plus herbal medicine group than in the acupuncture group and in the herbal medicine group.展开更多

Methods Sixty cases were randomly divided into an acupuncture rehabilitation group (33 cases) and a routine treatment group (27 cases). Both two groups received rehabilitation exercise, acupuncture rehabilitation group was treated with scalp acupuncture and body acupuncture, and in body acupuncture, Pishu(脾俞 BL 20), Weishu (胃俞 BE 21), Zusanli (足三里 ST 36), Fenglong (丰隆 ST 40), Xuehai (血海 SP 10), and accompanying points according to the symptoms were selected; in scalp acupuncture, Baihui (百会 GV 20), Sishencong (四神聪EX-HN 1), motor area, vascular dilation and constriction area were selected. Routine treatment group was treated with western drugs, including dehydration with mannitol to reduce intracranial pressure, control blood pressure, and brain cell protective agent was given, triamcinolone acetate solution for shoulder pain or cortisone acetate solution for blocking treatment. The treatment was given once a day, four weeks were one course, and four courses were given in all. The hemorheological indices and the clinical effect of two groups were compared. Results The effective rate of acupuncture rehabilitation group was 90.9% (30/33), better than that of 70.4% (19/27) in routine treatment group (P〈0.05); whole blood viscosity low shear and middle shear, plasma viscosity and hematocrit after the treatment became lowered than those before the treatment in acupuncture rehabilitation group (all P〈0.05); whole blood viscosity and plasma viscosity after the treatment was also lowered than those before the treatment in routine treatment group (both P〈0.05); whole blood viscosity low shear and middle shear, plasma viscosity and hematocrit after the treatment in acupuncture rehabilitation group were obviously lowered than those of routine treatment group (all P〈0.05). Conclusion With good therapeutic effect and better efficacy than routine medical treatment, scalp acupuncture and body acupuncture in combination with rehabilitation exercise can improve the movement, sensation and hemorheology of extremities of patients with hemiplegia and shoulder pain after stroke.展开更多

Methods: Forty-seven patients were randomly assigned to acupuncture and acupuncture plus medicine groups, 23 cases in the acupuncture group and 24 cases in the acupuncture plus medicine group. The observed course of treatment was 3 months. A Chinese concise SF 36 questionnaire was used to evaluate the quality of life in the different groups of patients before and after treatment. Meanwhile, radioimmunoassay was used to observe the differences in serum genital hormones: follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH) and estradiol (E2) contents between pretreatment and posttreatment in both groups. Results: After treatment, there was a significant difference in quality of life between the two groups and it was better in the acupuncture plus medicine group than in the acupuncture group(P〈 0.01). E2 content increased more markedly in the acupuncture plus medicine group than in the acupuncture group(P〈 0.05). There were no significant differences in FSH and LH contents between the two groups(P 〉 0. 05). Conclusion. Both acupuncture and acupuncture plus medicine can improve the quality of life and increase obviously low E2 content in postmenopausal women. Acupuncture plus medicine raises the patients' quality of life and E2 content more markedly than acupuncture. It is suggested that both acupuncture and acupuncture plus medicine can improve the symptoms, signs, and physical and mental health, raise the quality of life and ameliorate genital-endocrine environment in postmenopausal women, but a combination of acupuncture and medicine has a better effect.展开更多
