Body points Neiguan((PC 6 ), Hegu(LI 4 ), Zusanli (ST 36 ) and Gongsun(SP4), and auricular points Shenmen(MA-TF 1 ), Wei, Jiaogan(MA-AH 7) and Dachang(MA-SC 4),etc. were selected. Results indicated that 31 cases were cured, 11 cases were effective and one casewas ineffective. The total effective rate was 97. 7%. There was no statistically significant differencebetween the kinds of diseases operated and therapeutic effects. The method is convenient and its actionlasts a long period with more satisfactory effects for treatment of postoperative gastrointestinal dysfunction.展开更多

The results showed that Hegu(LI 4), Zusanli(ST 36), Quchi(LI 11), Jianyu(LI 15), Sanyinjiao(SP 6), Yanglingquan(GB 34), Lianquan(CV 23), and Waiguan(TE 5) were used at the highest frequency. In the therapeutic methods, acupuncture was used at the highest frequency, followed by scalp acupuncture, and simultaneous application of acupuncture and herbal medicine.展开更多

Methods: Forty-eight eligible AD patients were enrolled to receive acupuncture plus herb-partitioned moxibustion. Mini-mental state examination(MMSE) was adopted for evaluation before and after intervention, and the therapeutic efficacy was observed. Results: After intervention, the MMSE score changed significantly(P<0.01), and the total effective rate was 83.3%. Conclusion: Acupuncture-moxibustion can significantly improve the cognitive function of AD patients, beneficial to the general promotion of the quality of life.展开更多

The frequencies of use are divided into five grades: most frequent use, more frequent use, frequent use, less frequent use and infrequent use. The most frequently used acupoints and infrequently used acupoints are summarized and analyzed to help point selection for clinical acupuncture and selection of acupuncture research projects in the future.展开更多

Methods Eighty-eight patients were randomized into two groups:treatment group in which 48 cases were treated by combined electro-acupuncture and moxibustion and control group in which 40 cases were treated by oral administration of Huperzine A. Results The total effective rate was 90% in treatment group and 71% in control group, with a significant difference ( P < 0.05 ); the score of Mini-mental State Examination (MMSE) increased more obviously in treatment group than in control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Combined electro-acupuncture and moxibustion is effective in improving the clinical symptoms of multiple infarctional dementia.展开更多

Method Sixty-two patients were randomly divided into a treatment group of 32 cases and a control group of 30 cases. The treatment group and the control group were treated with acupuncture and Fluoxetine, respectively. The curative effects were evaluated by HAMD. Results There was a significant difference between pretreatment and posttreatmentin each group ( P < 0.02 ). There were no significantdifferences in curative effect and score reduction rate between the two groups ( P > 0.05). But acupuncture had no side effects and was good in compliance. Conclusion Acupuncture is an effective method for treating depressive neurosis.展开更多
