The study is an Art Historical research situated within the qualitative research paradigm. It had a population of a defmed class of cultural policy makers, art historians, traditional rulers, nationalists, visual artists and Ghanaians resident both in and outside Ghana. The study examined how the creation of Ghana's Presidential Seats and the State Sword were influenced by Kwame Nkrumah's cultural policies and the cultural significance of the aesthetic interplay of ethnic insignias used in capturing the Ghanaian concept of Political authority. The study revealed that, Nkrumah recognised the cultural art forms and elements of ethnic Ghana as assets for national development. In line with his policy of building the Nation State of Ghana, he used ethnic cultural art forms and elements. At independence, Nkrumah commissioned some visual artist to create some artistic pieces (politico-cultural artefacts) for the Ghanaian political authority with inspiration or based on what pertains in the traditional authority (Chieftaincy) of Ghana. Politico-cultural artefacts as used in this study refer to the artefacts produced based on the cultural concepts of the ethnic states for the use of the political authority of the Republic of Ghana. Among these artistic pieces are the three Presidential Seats, The State Sword, The President's Personal Standard Pole and the State Mace.展开更多

Recent research has significantly contributed to multimodalinformation exchange and fusion, with many methods attempting to integrate unimodal features to generatemultimodal news representations. However, they still need to fully explore the hierarchical and complex semanticcorrelations between different modal contents, severely limiting their performance detecting multimodal falseinformation. This work proposes a two-stage detection framework for multimodal false information detection, called ASMFD, which is based on image aesthetic similarity to segment and explores the consistency andinconsistency features of images and texts. Specifically, we first use the Contrastive Language-Image Pre-training(CLIP) model to learn the relationship between text and images through label awareness and train an imageaesthetic attribute scorer using an aesthetic attribute dataset. Then, we calculate the aesthetic similarity betweenthe image and related images and use this similarity as a threshold to divide the multimodal correlation matrixinto consistency and inconsistencymatrices. Finally, the fusionmodule is designed to identify essential features fordetectingmultimodal false information. In extensive experiments on four datasets, the performance of the ASMFDis superior to state-of-the-art baseline methods.展开更多

文摘Cultural relics line graphic serves as a crucial form of traditional artifact information documentation, which is a simple and intuitive product with low cost of displaying compared with 3D models.Dimensionality reduction is undoubtedly necessary for line drawings. However, most existing methods for artifact drawing rely on the principles of orthographic projection that always cannot avoid angle occlusion and data overlapping while the surface of cultural relics is complex. Therefore, conformal mapping was introduced as a dimensionality reduction way to compensate for the limitation of orthographic projection.Based on the given criteria for assessing surface complexity, this paper proposed a three-dimensional feature guideline extraction method for complex cultural relic surfaces.A 2D and 3D combined factor that measured the importance of points on describing surface features, vertex weight, was designed. Then the selection threshold for feature guideline extraction was determined based on the differences between vertex weight and shape index distributions. The feasibility and stability were verified through experiments conducted on real cultural relic surface data. Results demonstrated the ability of the method to address the challenges associated with the automatic generation of line drawings for complex surfaces. The extraction method and the obtained results will be useful for line graphic drawing, displaying and propaganda of cultural relics.
文摘Based on emphasis of Huaxia cultural aesthetics as the aesthetic tendency of Chinese traditional culture,Huaxia aesthetic culture had been divided into two parts:traditional ritual cultural aesthetics as the base and different aesthetic cultures dominating at different periods which included Confucius cultural aesthetics, seclusion cultural aesthetics and co-existence of Confucius,Taoist and Buddhist cultural aesthetics.Traditional ritual cultural aesthetics contained formal beauty, harmonious beauty and sacred numbers.Confucius aesthetics consisted of constant flow, happiness in poverty, and moral nature. The seclusion aesthetics consisted of super universe, hermit in nature and pastoral habitation.Co-existing aesthetics of Confucius,Taoist and Buddhist culture consisted of harmonious aid, principles' conclusion and leisure life. These dominating aesthetic cultures overlaid with basic ritual culture, and enhanced artistic conception of Chinese traditional gardens with witty words and sentences.
文摘Mainstream media play a crucial role in constructing the cultural memory of a city. This study used 319 short videos released by“Hi Chengdu,”a new media product of Chengdu Radio and Television,as samples.Based on the grounded theory,a research framework encompassing“content, technology, and discourse”was established to explore the paths through which mainstream media construct the cultural memory.Regarding content, this paper emphasized temporal and spatial contexts and urban spaces, delving deep into the themes of the cultural memory and vehicles for it.In terms of technology, this paper discussed the practice of leveraging audio/visual-mode discourse to stitch together the impressions of a city and evoke emotional resonance to create a“flow”of memory. As for discourse, this paper looked at the performance of a communication ritual to frame concepts and shape urban identity. It is essential to break free from conventional thinking and leverage local culture as the primary driving force to further boost a city’s productivity,in order to excel in cultural communication.
基金This paper is an outcome of the“Research on Marxist Aesthetics of the Prague Linguistic Circle”(Approval No.JD21026)a project of the Key Research Base for Humanities and Social Sciences at Colleges and Universities of Jiangxi Province. It is also part of a major project“Bibliography and Research of Eastern European Marxist Aesthetics”(Approval No.15ZDB022)funded by the National Social Science Fund of China(NSSFC).
文摘Eastern European Marxism, taking a critical stance towards structuralism, gave rise to a unique paradigm of praxis-oriented semiotic aesthetics. This novel approach posits that signs emerge from humans’social praxis and also function as a means of praxis. It further delves into the principle governing the generation and usage of signs,i.e.,the Economy Principle, the homogenization of signs, the situatedness or contextual constraints,as well as their aesthetic features and transcendental attributes. As a result, the praxis-oriented semiotic aesthetics within Eastern European Marxism exhibits distinct theoretical value.
文摘With the explosive growth of false information on social media platforms, the automatic detection of multimodalfalse information has received increasing attention. In extensive experiments on four datasets, the performance of the ASMFDis superior to state-of-the-art baseline methods.
