To study the atmospheric aging of acrylic coatings,a two-year aging exposure experiment was conducted in 13 representative climatic environments in China.An atmospheric aging evaluation model of acrylic coatings was developed based on aging data including11 environmental factors from 567 cities.A hybrid method of random forest and Spearman correlation analysis was used to reduce the redundancy and multicollinearity of the data set by dimensionality reduction.A semi-supervised collaborative trained regression model was developed with the environmental factors as input and the low-frequency impedance modulus values of the electrochemical impedance spectra of acrylic coatings in 3.5wt%NaCl solution as output.The model improves accuracy compared to supervised learning algorithms model(support vector machines model).The model provides a new method for the rapid evaluation of the aging performance of acrylic coatings,and may also serve as a reference to evaluate the aging performance of other organic coatings. 展开更多

The heterogeneous multilayer interface of VN/Ag coatings and transition multilayer interface of VN/Ag coatings were prepared on Inconel 781 and Si(100),and the microstructures,mechanical and tribological properties were investigated from 25 to 700℃.The results showed that the surface roughness and average grain size of VN/Ag coatings with transition multilayer interface are obviously larger than those of VN/Ag coatings with heterogeneous multilayer interface.The coatings with transition multilayer interface have higher adhesion force and hardness than the coatings with heterogeneous multilayer interface,and both coatings can effectively restrict the initiation and propagation of microcracks.Both coatings have excellent self-adaptive lubricating properties with a decrease of friction coefficient as the temperature increases,but their wear rates reveal a drastic increase.The phase composition of the worn area of both coatings was investigated,which indicates that a smooth Ag,Magnéli phase(V2O5)and bimetallic oxides(Ag3VO4 and AgVO3)can be responsible to the excellent lubricity of both coatings.To sum up,the coatings with transition multilayer interface have excellent adaptive lubricating properties and can properly control the diffusion rate and release rate of the lubricating phase,indicating that they have great potential in solving the problem of friction and wear of mechanical parts. 展开更多

The objective of this research is to prepare specially designed surface texture on hard steel surface by electrochemical micromachining (EM) and to incorporate electroless plated Ag/MoS2 solid lubricant coating into the dimples of EM textured steel surface to effectively reduce friction and wear of steel-steel contacts. The friction and wear behavior of the Ag/MoS2 solid lubricant coating on EM textured steel surface was evaluated in relation to the size and spacing of the dimples thereon. The microstructure of as-plated Ag/MoS2 solid lubricant coating and the morphology and elemental composition of the worn coating surface and counterface steel surface were analyzed by means of optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and energy dispersive spectrometry. It is found that electroless plated Ag/MoS2 coating is able to greatly reduce the friction and wear of the EM textured steel disc coupled with GCr15 steel ring, mainly because of the formation of solid self-lubricating layer on the EM textured steel surface and of transferred lubricating film on counterface steel surface. The diameter and spacing of the dimples are suggested as 500 μm for acquiring the best wear resistance of the hard steel discs after electrochemical micromachining treatment and electroless plating of Ag/MoS2 solid lubricating coating. 展开更多

The relationship between the critical current and the corrosive time at the same temperature was measured. The corrosion rate was also calculated. The textured YBCO superconductor was coated by sintering Ag plating method. Another coating method with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and low temperature resin was studied for the sintered YBCO superconductors as the protect layer. The above two kinds of coating methods can be used to meet the desire of the protection for YBCO superconductor and its thin film device. 展开更多

To evaluate the property of the organic coatings in oil and gas plants, the aging process was studied in high temperature and high CO_2 partial pressure environment. Correlations were developed between the macroscopic properties and microstructure of the organic coatings. The surface appearance, mechanical properties, and permeability of the organic coatings were measured. Furthermore, the crystal structure of the organic coatings was investigated through synchrotron radiation grazing incidence X-ray diffraction(GIXRD) on the BL14B1 beam line in Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility. Combined with the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, the molecular structure of the organic coatings was investigated. The experimental results indicate that the thickness variation and weight loss of the organic coatings increase with the immersion time, and the penetration resistance of the coating obviously decreases as the temperature rises. Moreover, the degradation of the organic coatings with immersion time in high temperature and high CO_2 partial pressure environment is caused by the amorphization of the organic coatings as the groups and bonds of the organic coatings were not damaged. 展开更多
