Abstract Chinese air pollution has increased in this century along with the rapid socioeconomic development and resulting anthropogenic emissions. While recent emission control measures have shown encouraging re sults and have reduced the levels of sulfur dioxide and primary aerosols, the concentrations of other air pollutants continue to grow, particularly secondary pollutants in cluding ozone and secondary aerosols. Meanwhile, a va riety of intentional and unintentional socioeconomic events have temporarily changed the pace, and even the signs, of growth of air pollution. These events include the short-term emission restrictions imposed during the Sino-African Summit, the Beijing Olympics and Para lympics, the Shanghai World Exposition (Shanghai Expo), the Guangzhou Asian Olympics, and the Shenzhen Uni versiade, as well as the unintentional emission reductions associated with the recent economic recession and the annual Chinese New Year. This paper presents a brief overview of trends and temporary perturbations of Chi nese air pollution since 2000, summarizing studies on anthropogenic emission inventories, atmospheric meas urements, and inverse modeling. So, this paper madean attempt to explore the dynamics of air pollution in the city speciallypre and post period of vehicle and fuel change in the city. The objectivesof the paper include looking at spatiotemporal change of air pollution inthe city. Besides, the paper additionally illuminates on the role of landuse functions and pollution in the city. The analysis shows that after theimplementation of regulatory measures air pollution in the city reduced tosome extent but effects of the measure gradually diminished. The chemical and physical characteristics of PM2.5, especially their temporal and geographical variations, have been explored in metropolitan Hangzhou area (China) by a field campaign from September 2010 to July 2011. Annual average concentrations of PM2.5 and PM10 during non-raining days were 106 - 131 μg.m-3 and 127 - 158 μg.m-3, respectively, at three stations in urban breathing zones, while corresponding concentrations of PM2.5 and PM10 at an urban background station (16 mabove ground level in a park) were 78 and 104 μg.m-3, respectively. For comparison, the annual average PM10 concentration at a suburban station (5 mAGL) was 93 μg.m-3. Detailed chemical analyses were also conducted for all samples collected during the campaign. We found that toxic metals (Cd, As, Pb, Zn, Mo, Cu, Hg) were highly enriched in the breathing zones due to anthropogenic activities, while soluble ions (, , ) and total carbon accounted for majority of PM2.5 mass. Unlike most areas in China where sulfate was several times of nitrate in fine PM, nitrate was as important as sulfate and highly correlated with ammonium during the campaign. Thus, a historical shift from sulfate-dominant fine PM to nitrate-dominant fine PM was documented. 展开更多

Since the volcanic eruption in 2000, continuous monitoring of sulfur dioxide (SO2) gas has been conducted with in-situ samplers located along the seashore road in Miyakejima, a volcano island around 180 kmsouth of Tokyo. The purpose of these sampling measurements has been to issue warning on the hazardous air pollution to the local residents. Therefore, the resulting data do not provide direct information on pollution levels inside the restricted areas where high concentration of SO2 still takes place frequently. From the ecological point of view, it is desirable to have pollution data covering wider regions of the island. In this paper we report on our differential optical absorption spectroscopy (DOAS) measurements carried out inside the highly-polluted, restricted areas in Miyakejima in December 2009 and September 2010. The system is based on continuous light emitted from a xenon light sources, while detector setups consisting of a telescope and a compact spectrometer detect the light after passing a nearly horizontal optical path of460 m-1300 m. By virtue of the portability of the DOAS observation systems, we achieved the measurement of the concentrations inside the restricted districts in the eastern and southwestern parts of the island. The DOAS results in both of these districts revealed the occurrence of pollution of volcanic gas even when no pollution was observed at nearby sampling stations. In addition, simultaneous measurements with two nearly orthogonal DOAS paths were conducted for examining the spatial distribution of the volcanic gas over the spatial range of several hundred meters. The result of this two paths measurement has indicated the importance of orography, in addition to the wind speed and wind direction, in determining the spatial concentration of SO2 emitted from the volcano crater. 展开更多

为全面评估中国城市生活垃圾填埋处理CH4和VOCs等典型大气污染物排放状况,积极推动减污降碳工作,通过统计全国695个城市的基础信息,基于排放因子法,计算了2002~2022年中国城市生活垃圾填埋处理CH_(4)和VOCs等典型大气污染物排放量,分析... 为全面评估中国城市生活垃圾填埋处理CH4和VOCs等典型大气污染物排放状况,积极推动减污降碳工作,通过统计全国695个城市的基础信息,基于排放因子法,计算了2002~2022年中国城市生活垃圾填埋处理CH_(4)和VOCs等典型大气污染物排放量,分析了排放趋势和空间特征,并提出了减排建议.结果表明:2009年以后中国城市生活垃圾填埋处理率(生活垃圾填埋处理量/无害化处理量)呈持续下降趋势,下降率最低是2011年为1.39%,最高是2020年为12.45%.2022年,中国城市生活垃圾填埋处理排放的CH_(4)、NH_(3)、VOCs、TSP、PM_(10)和PM_(2.5)总量分别为4.09×10^(6),17.04,4.75×10^(4),14.09,6.66和1.00t.空间来看,中国城市生活垃圾填埋处理CH_(4)和VOCs等典型大气污染物排放量高值区向南部变化.2018年以后,大气污染物排放量呈持续下降趋势,下降率最低是2018年为2.75%,最高是2022年为41.57%.2020年以后,CH_(4)排放量呈持续下降趋势,下降率最低是2020年为4.53%,最高是2022年为13.56%.中国城市生活垃圾填埋处理的CH_(4)和VOCs等典型大气污染物排放量在近年来呈现下降趋势,随着生活垃圾填埋量的减少,大气污染物的下降速率大于CH_(4)的下降速率. 展开更多

为了统筹推进空气质量改善和经济发展,生态环境部于2019年7月制定了重污染天气“绩效分级、差异化管控”措施。文章将廊坊市11次预警(4次黄色预警、6次橙色预警和1次红色预警)划分为8次污染过程进行分析。结果显示,8次污染过程PM_(2.5)... 为了统筹推进空气质量改善和经济发展,生态环境部于2019年7月制定了重污染天气“绩效分级、差异化管控”措施。文章将廊坊市11次预警(4次黄色预警、6次橙色预警和1次红色预警)划分为8次污染过程进行分析。结果显示,8次污染过程PM_(2.5)平均浓度为41.4~129.0μg/m^(3),综合后向轨迹模拟、地面天气型等手段,将污染过程分为4类,包括西南输送类、东南输送类,西北方向输送类以及局地污染过程。其中高压后部、低压前部和弱高压是导致南部区域传输污染过程的主要天气型,均压场、弱高压是导致西北来向和局地污染过程的主要天气型,且西南来向与局地污染过程PM_(2.5)均值与峰值浓度均高于东南来向和西北来向污染过程,说明此两类污染发生时,廊坊市空气质量更差。结合各预警等级污染物减排比例,采用WRF-CMAQ模式对11次预警期间“绩效分级、差异化管控”效果进行评估,发现预警期间PM_(2.5)平均浓度下降了2.6%~5.9%,PM_(2.5)峰值浓度降低了0.7%~7.7%。整体来看,应急措施的实施有效改善了廊坊市空气质量,并起到了“削峰”作用。 展开更多

为阻止新冠肺炎(COVID-19)疫情迅速蔓延,我国采取了严格的管控措施,在全国大部分城市PM_(2.5)浓度显著下降的背景下,呼和浩特市PM_(2.5)浓度不降反升,仍出现多次重污染过程,其成因尚不明确.基于环境空气质量自动监测数据(PM_(2.5)、PM_(... 为阻止新冠肺炎(COVID-19)疫情迅速蔓延,我国采取了严格的管控措施,在全国大部分城市PM_(2.5)浓度显著下降的背景下,呼和浩特市PM_(2.5)浓度不降反升,仍出现多次重污染过程,其成因尚不明确.基于环境空气质量自动监测数据(PM_(2.5)、PM_(10)、SO_(2)、NO_(2)、CO和O_(3)),结合风速、风向、温度、相对湿度等气象数据,研究疫情期间大气污染特征及其影响因素,利用潜在源区贡献函数(PSCF)和浓度权重轨迹分析(CWT)识别污染物潜在源区,为呼和浩特市大气污染治理提供理论依据.研究结果表明:疫情期间呼和浩特市发生重度以上污染天6 d,占监测总天数的19.3%.与历史同期比较,疫情期间呼和浩特市PM_(2.5)、PM_(10)、CO和O_(3)浓度均有不同程度上升,SO_(2)和NO_(2)呈降低趋势.与疫情前相比,疫情期间PM_(2.5)、PM_(10)、SO_(2)、NO_(2)和CO分别下降38.6%、31.7%、46.1%、35.8%和37.0%,O_(3)上升109.4%.高相对湿度和低风速是呼和浩特市“疫情霾”形成的主要原因.疫情期间呼和浩特市大气PM_(2.5)主要受本地源或近距离传输的影响. 展开更多
