The samples were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) with selected area electron diffraction (SAED), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and UV-visible light absorption spectrum. The results indicate that the growth orientations of the crystals are influenced by the hydrothermal temperature and NaOH concentration. The diameter of the nanoneedle spheres and nanoribbon spheres (40 50 μm) are almost the same as that of Ti powders. TiO 2 nanoneedle/nanoribbon sphere powders are anatase after heat treatment at 450 °C for 1 h. Furthermore, methyl orange was used as a target molecule to estimate the photocatalytic activity of the specimens. The formation regularity of the phases in the as prepared powders and the morphology of the particles were examined. The experimental results show that chemical composition of the master alloy is the key factor which controls the chemical composition of the compound phases in nanometer powders at given evaporating temperature, the compound phases with high Fe mole fraction will form with increasing of Fe content in master alloy. Only Al 13 Fe 4, FeAl 2 and Al 2Fe compound phases form in nanometer powders in present experiment, changing of the pressure of Ar can only alter relative amounts of the compound phases in the powders. Nanometer particles with inhomogeneous tissue were obtained, which is very different from that of pure Al and Fe nanometer particles. When mole fraction of Fe in particles increases, the inhomogeneity is enhanced. [展开更多

The sintering kinetics was determined by dilatometry at temperatures from 900 to 1260°C. The mechanical properties of the sintered samples were evaluated by microhardness and compression tests. The sintering kinetics indicated that the predominant mechanism depends on the relative density irrespective of the particle size used. The mechanical properties of the sintered samples are adversely affected by increasing pore volume fraction. The elastic Young's modulus and yield stress follow a power law function of the relative density. The fracture behavior after compression is linked to the neck size developed during sintering, exhibiting two different mechanisms of failure: interparticle neck breaking and intergranular cracking in samples with relative densities below and above of 90%, respectively. The main conclusion is that relative density is responsible for the kinetics, mechanical properties, and failure behavior of Ti6 Al4 V powders.展开更多

The influences of parameters on the properties of Ni3Al were investigated. The parameters include the particle size of nickel powder, adding or without boron powder, hot pressing temperature, etc. The properties include the density of hot-pressed samples, resultant redo of Ni3A1 phase, and bending strength. The microstructures of hot-pressed samples were investigated by X-ray diffraction and scan electronic microscopy, and the properties, such as density and bending strength, were also measured. The characteristics of the powders are determined by means of dry sieving, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), optical microscopy (OM), and X-ray diffractometry (XRD). The results show that the powders exhibit a bimodal size distribution and a higher gas pressure results in a broad size distribution. All particles in both cases are spherical or nearly spherical and satellites form on the surface of coarse particles. Dendritic and cellular structures coexist in the particle. With decreasing particle diameter, the secondary dendrite arm spacing (SDAS) decreases and the cooling rate increases. The particles processed under high gas atomization pressure (1.6 MPa) exhibit a lower SDAS value and a higher cooling rate than those of the same size under low gas atomization pressure (1.1 MPa). The microstructure and properties of the synthesized Cu/Al2O3 were studied. The results show that high-energy milling can obviously promote internal oxidation of Al in Cu-Al powders in the same solid solubility. At the same milling conditions and internal oxidation parameters, the solid solution of Al in Cu either in low or high amount will result in the poor microstructure and properties of the Cu/Al2O3 composite. Subsequently, when high-energy milling and internal oxidation are synchronously used to prepare the Cu/Al2O3 composite, there should be an appropriate solubility and milling effect for the pre-alloyed powders.展开更多

The phase identification of the powders, performed using x-ray diffraction, shows the presence of purity hexaferrite structure and absence of any secondary phase. The lattice parameters decrease with increasing x. The average grain size of the powders is about 300 nm-400 nm at Al3+ ion content x = 0-2.0. The room- temperature hysteresis loops of the powders, measured by using vibrating sample magnetometer, show that the specific saturation magnetization (σs) value continuously decreases while the coercivity (Hc) value increases with increasing x, and He reaches to 9759 Oe (1 Oe = 79.5775 A/m) at x = 2.0. According to the law of approach saturation, Hc value increases with increasing Al3+ ion content, which is attributed to the saturation magnetization (Ms) decreasing more rapidly than the magnetic anisotropy constant (Kl) obtained by numerical fitting of the hysteresis loops. The distribution of Al3+ ions in the hexaferrite structure of SrAlxFe2n- xO19 is investigated by using 57Co Mtssbauer spectroscopy. The effect of Al3+ doping on static magnetic properties contributes to the improvement of magnetic anisotropy field.展开更多

It is proposed that the good interfacial bonding of the composite powders can be resulted from the TiB2 particles crystallizing and growing on the Al2O3 particles surface with surface defects acting as nucleation centers.

文摘Since Cu-Al powder characteristics have important effects on the preparation of Cu/Al2O3 composite, the apparent activation energy of Al internal oxidation reaction in Cu-Al pre-alloyed powders with different characteristics was calculated in the present investigation. Subsequently, when high-energy milling and internal oxidation are synchronously used to prepare the Cu/Al2O3 composite, there should be an appropriate solubility and milling effect for the pre-alloyed powders.
文摘Blended elemental powders with the nominal compositions (mole fraction, %) of Ti 54 Al 46 , Ti 52 Al 48 and Ti 50 Al 50 were mechanically alloyed in a planetary ball milling system for up to 100h.The structure evolution in these powders was characterized by scanning electron microscope, X ray diffraction and differential thermal analysis techniques. It was found that elemental powders were progressively transformed into nanocrystalline Ti(Al) supersaturated solid solution, then into amorphous phase. With increasing Al content, the formation of a fully Ti(Al) supersaturated solid solution and amorphous phase were accelerated, which are attributed to the fine grain size. And the grain size condition for formation of amorphous phase in this system is ≤16?nm.
文摘M-type Al-doped strontium ferrite powders (SrA1xFe2n-xO19, n = 5.9) with nominal Al content of x = 0-2.0 are prepared by traditional ceramic technology. The effect of Al3+ doping on static magnetic properties contributes to the improvement of magnetic anisotropy field.
文摘TiAl/Ti2AlC composites were prepared by in-situ hot pressing of TilAl/C powders mixtures and sintered at different temperatures were investigated by X- ray diffraction ( XRD ) of samples. The reaction procedure of Ti-Al-C system could be divided into three stnges. Below 900℃ , Ti reacts with Al to form TiAl intermetallics ; above 900 ℃ , C reacts with remain Ti to form TiC triggered by the exothermal reaction of Ti and Al ; TiAl reacts with TiC to produce dense TiAl/Ti2AlC compasites. In the holding stage, ternary Ti2AlC develops to layered polycrystal and composites pyknosis in the meanwhile. The mechanism of synthesis and microstructure was especially discussed.
文摘The microstructures and mechanical properties of Als9 GdTNi3Fe alloy extruded from its amorphous powder were investigated at different temperatures. Devitrification process of amorphous phase was also analyzed. As a result, the microstructure of the extruded alloy consists of fee α-Al, binary intermetallic Al3Gd and ternary intermetallic r l phase. The grain size of α-Al is fine. The intermetallic Al3Gd exists as equiaxed particle and τ1 phase appears rod like.
