Based on the analysis of these data, the variations of atmospheric compositions in solar and geomagnetic quiet conditions are reported first, then a detailed discussion on the atmospheric composition variations under the so lar and geomagnetic disturbed conditions is given. The results show that near the altitude of 400 km the variations of main atmospheric compositions corre sponding to solar disturbances are more remarkable in the sunlit area than in the shade area. On the contrary, in geomagnetic disturbance events the corre sponding variations are more obvious in the shade area, an evident increase of N2 density at relatively higher latitudes was observed.展开更多

Contributions ofsulfate and soot in aerosols to the atmospheric extinction are studied. Discussions are made on the problems of aerosol emitted from volcano, forest fires in northern China, 1987 and oil field fires in Kuwait, 1991. It is indicated that the changes in concentration, particle size, and chemical composition of aerosol after those events could have impacts on the climate change either regionally or globally and that the impact of aerosol particles on climate change could compensate for some temperature increase caused by greenhouse gases and the increase of surface intensity of ultraviolet radiation due to ozone layer depletion.展开更多

The region of the model is from 90°S to 90°N and from the ground to the altitude of 20...A global two-dimensional zonally averaged chemistry model is developed to study the chemi-cal composition of atmosphere. The region of the model is from 90°S to 90°N and from the ground to the altitude of 20 km with a resolution of 5° x 1 km. The wind field is residual circulation calcu-lated from diabatic rate. 34 species and 104 chemical and photochemical reactions are considered in the model. The sources of CH4, CO and NOx, which are divided into seasonal sources and non-seasonal sources, are parameterized as a function of latitude and time. The chemical composi-tion of atmosphere was simulated with emission level of CH4, CO and NOx in 1990. The results are compared with observations and other model results, showing that the model is successful to simu-late the atmospheric chemical composition and distribution of CH4. The paper presents the results of investigation of changes in the composition of hydrocarbons and sulfur-containing compounds of an atmospheric residue in the course of cracking in the presence of a tungsten carbide-n...The paper presents the results of investigation of changes in the composition of hydrocarbons and sulfur-containing compounds of an atmospheric residue in the course of cracking in the presence of a tungsten carbide-nickel-chromium(WC/Ni-Cr)catalytic additive and without it.The cracking is carried out in an autoclave at 500℃for 30 min.The addition of the WC/Ni-Cr additive promotes the deepening of reactions of destruction not only of resins and asphaltenes,but also high molecular weight naphthene-aromatic compounds of the atmospheric residue.It is shown that the content of low molecular weight C9-C17 n-alkanes and C9-C10 alkylbenzenes rose sharply in the products of cracking with addition of WC/Ni-Cr in comparison with those produced without the additive.Alkyl-and naphthene-substituted aromatic hydrocarbons of benzene,naphthalene,phenanthrene series,polyarenes,benzo-and dibenzothiophenes are identified.展开更多
The microprobe EDXRF equipment was used for analysis of the major and trace elements in glaze layer-transitive layer-body layer of the celadon from the Altar Yao (Kiln) and Laohudong Yao in the Southern Song Dynasty...The microprobe EDXRF equipment was used for analysis of the major and trace elements in glaze layer-transitive layer-body layer of the celadon from the Altar Yao (Kiln) and Laohudong Yao in the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279 A.D.), Zhejiang, China. The K values of the discriminant factor for the celadon wares are larger than 8, which means the celadon of the Altar Yao and Laohudong Yao are different from that of the Longquan Yao. The former two belong to the Guan Yao system (the Chinese imperial kilns), but the latter to the Min Yao system (the Chinese popular kilns). The principle component analysis shows their relationship between the Altar and Laohudong wares with provenance postulation. The thickness of the transitive layer in the Altar and Laohudong wares is obviously different, which reveals the microstructure characteristics of the celadon even though both kinds of wares belong to the imperial kiln system.展开更多
In order to know the particle size distribution and mineral compositions of dust in Maiji town, Tianshui City, Gansu Province, size distribution and physical compositions of atmosphere natural dropping dust have been ...In order to know the particle size distribution and mineral compositions of dust in Maiji town, Tianshui City, Gansu Province, size distribution and physical compositions of atmosphere natural dropping dust have been analyzed. Based on the natural dropping dust ζ potential and the mass percentage of main mineral compositions in dust fall, we present two models (calculation method and hybrid method) for the zeta potential of atmospheric dust fall in pure water. The results illustrated that the natural dropping dust in Maiji town belongs to inhalable particles. The main mineral compositions and contents of the dust are quartz (57.08%), calcite (27.79%), albite (10.29%), muscovite (4.84%). Atmospheric dust fall in pure water is electronegativity and ζ potential decreased with increasing pH. There are some differences exist in the two modeling ways, but have a similar tendency. The zeta potential differences between natural dropping dust and modeling dust reflects the zeta potential contribution rate of main mineral particles in dust and the effect of trace polarity organic pollutants or other minerals.展开更多

Open ci...Galvanic, compatibility between graphite epoxy composite materials (GECM) and LY12CZ aluminum alloy was evaluated in different atmospheric corrosion environments and by laboratory electrochemical measurements. Open circuit potential electrochemical measurements showed a relatively large potential difference about 1 volt between the GECM and LY12CZ aluminum alloy, and this difference provided the driving force for galvanic corrosion of the LY12CZ aluminum alloy as an anode. Having been exposed for 1, 3 or 5 years in Beijing, Tuandao and Wanning station, GECM/LY12CZ couples showed significant losses of strength and elongation. Protective coatings and non-conductive barriers breaking the galvanic corrosion circuit were evaluated under the same atmospheric corrosive conditions. Epoxy primer paint, glass cloth barriers and LY12CZ anodizing were effective in galvanic corrosion control for GECM/LY12CZ couples.展开更多
A genetic algorithm based multi-objective coordinative optimization strategy is developed to optimize the operation of a binary feed atmospheric and vacuum distillation system, in which the objective functions cover t...A genetic algorithm based multi-objective coordinative optimization strategy is developed to optimize the operation of a binary feed atmospheric and vacuum distillation system, in which the objective functions cover the economic benefit, the furnace energy consumption and the CO_2 emissions, and meanwhile the simultaneous effect of binary feed composition is also investigated. A cross-call integration of software is developed to implement the optimization algorithm,and once the maximum economic benefit, the minimum furnace energy consumption and the minimum CO_2 emissions are obtained, the Pareto-optimal solution set is worked out, with the practical problems of the refinery being solved. The optimization result shows that under the same furnace energy consumption and the CO_2 emissions as the existing working condition, the economic benefit still allows for a considerable potential of increment by adjusting the heavy oil proportion of the binary feed crude oil.展开更多

Wavelike perturbations in the ionosphere of Titan,the largest satellite of Saturn,are explored based on the Cassini Ion Neutral Mass Spectrometer(INMS)measurements.Strong wavelike perturbations are identified for more...Wavelike perturbations in the ionosphere of Titan,the largest satellite of Saturn,are explored based on the Cassini Ion Neutral Mass Spectrometer(INMS)measurements.Strong wavelike perturbations are identified for more than twenty ion species,from simple ones such as N^(+)and CH_(4)^(+)to complex ones such as C_(2)H_(3)CNH^(+)and C_(4)H_(7)^(+).Simultaneous wavelike perturbations in background N_(2),indicative of atmospheric gravity waves,are also observed,motivating us to speculate that the INMS-derived ion perturbations are wave-driven.The amplitudes of the ion perturbations are found to be larger than that of the N_(2)perturbations.Clear compositional variation is revealed by the data:heavier ion species exhibit greater amplitudes.Such observations might be understood based on considerations either of force balance or chemical loss in Titan’s ionosphere.展开更多
