The Maxwell equations with time component elimination (METCE) are derived under the assumption of magnetic quasi static approximation, especia...A new method of 3D transient eddy current field calculation is proposed. The Maxwell equations with time component elimination (METCE) are derived under the assumption of magnetic quasi static approximation, especially for the sample of low conductivity. Based on METCE, we deduce a more efficient reconstruction algorithm of a 3D transient eddy current field. The computational burden is greatly reduced through the new algorithm, and the computational efficiency is improved. This new algorithm decompounds the space-time variables into two individual variables. The idea is to solve the spatial vector component firstly, and then multiply it by the corresponded time component. The iterative methods based on METCE are introduced to recover the distribution of conductivity in magneto-acoustic tomography. The reconstructed images of conductivity are consistent with the original distribution, which validate the new method.展开更多

Afterwards, we direct our attention to different methods of variations which evolved during the last century and which include their use in eigenvalue problems and in finite difference methods and those adopted in classical and quantum mechanics. The methods used in evaluating products and quotients of functionals are also discussed along with variational iteration methods. Later on, a good number of applications in different areas are presented and discussed;then a concluding discussion is given.展开更多

Through versatile algorithm, single layer/raster CNN array is implemented by incorporating the proposed technique. Simulation results have been obtained, and comparison has also been carried out to show the efficiency of the proposed numerical integration algorithm. The analytic expressions for local truncation error and global truncation error are derived. It is seen that the RK-embedded root mean square outperforms the RK-embedded Heronian mean and RK-embedded harmonic mean.展开更多
A special X-radiography,used in obtaining the deformed specimen grating in in-plane moire method is introduced.The density of gridline is up to 50 lines / mm.This method is suitable not only for the copy of grating in...A special X-radiography,used in obtaining the deformed specimen grating in in-plane moire method is introduced.The density of gridline is up to 50 lines / mm.This method is suitable not only for the copy of grating in fiat surface but also for that in curved surface.From unfolding the copy and superposing it with a reference grating,the moire effect arises.By processing this moire fringes with the digital image processing unit, the strain distribution would be obtained.Furthermore,the u-and v-displacement fields could be separated by the optical processing of this copy.The measurment sensitivity and accuracy become better simultaneously because of the fringe multiplication.Thus,this method makes it possible to measure the elastic-plastic strain precisely in any developable curved surfaces,for example, the surface of shaft,rotary-wing,cylindrical shell and cone shell etc.展开更多

Progress in in-situ stress measurement from the 1950s in China is briefly introduced. Stress relief by overcoring technique and hydraulic fracturing: technique are the two main techniques for in-situ stress measurement in China at present. To make them suitable for application at great depth and to increase their measuring reliability and accuracy, a series of techniques have been developed. Applications and achievements of in-situ stress measurement in Chinese rock engineering, including mining, geotechnical and hydropower engineering, and earthquake prediction, are introduced. In this paper, a nonlinear, unsteady 3-D free surface problem of the oblique water exit of an axisymmetric body with a large water exit-angle was investigated by means of the perturbation method in which the complemen...In this paper, a nonlinear, unsteady 3-D free surface problem of the oblique water exit of an axisymmetric body with a large water exit-angle was investigated by means of the perturbation method in which the complementary angle a of the water exit angle was chosen as a small parameter. The original 3-D problem was solved by expanding it into a power series of a and reduced to a number of 2-D problems. The integral expressions for the first three order solutions were given in terms of the complete elliptic functions of the first and second kinds. The zeroth-order solution didn't turn out to be a linear problem as usual but a nonlinear one corresponding to the vertical water exit for the same body. Computational results were presented for the free surface shapes and the forces exerted up to the second order during the oblique water exit of a series of ellipsoids with various ratios of length to diameter at different Froude numbers.展开更多
