As the take-off of China’s macro economy,as well as the rapid development of infrastructure construction,real estate industry,and highway logistics transportation industry,the demand for heavy vehicles is increasing rapidly,the competition is becoming increasingly fierce,and the digital transformation of the production line is imminent.As one of themost important components of heavy vehicles,the transmission front andmiddle case assembly lines have a high degree of automation,which can be used as a pilot for the digital transformation of production.To ensure the visualization of digital twins(DT),consistent control logic,and real-time data interaction,this paper proposes an experimental digital twin modeling method for the transmission front and middle case assembly line.Firstly,theDT-based systemarchitecture is designed,and theDT model is created by constructing the visualization model,logic model,and data model of the assembly line.Then,a simulation experiment is carried out in a virtual space to analyze the existing problems in the current assembly line.Eventually,some improvement strategies are proposed and the effectiveness is verified by a new simulation experiment. 展开更多

In the process of thin-wall parts assembly for an antenna,the parts assembly deformation deviation is occurring due to the riveting assembly.In view of the riveting assembly deformation problems,it can be analyzed through transient and static simulation.In this work,the theoretical deformation model for riveting assembly is established with round head rivet.The simulation analysis for riveting deformation is carried out with the riveting assembly piece including four rivets,which comparing with the measuring points experiment results of riveting test piece through dealing with the experimental data using the point coordinate transform method and the space line fitting method.Simultaneously,the deformation deviation of the overall thin-wall parts assembly structure is analyzed through finite element simulation;and its results are verified by the measuring experiment for riveting assembly with the deformation deviation of some key points on the thin-wall parts.Through the comparison analysis,it is shown that the simulation results agree well with the experimental results,which proves the correctness and effectiveness of the theoretical analysis,simulation results and the given experiment data processing method.Through the study on the riveting assembly for thin-wall parts,it will provide a theoretical foundation for improving thin-wall parts assembly quality of large antenna in future. 展开更多

ASR of two peg-in-hole robot assemblies was used as an example by taking component parts' sizes, manufacturing tolerances and robot repeatability into account. A statistic arithmetic expression was proposed and deduced in this paper, which offers an alternative method of estimating the accuracy of ASR, without having to repeat the simulations. This statistic method also helps to choose a suitable sample size, if error reduction is desired. Monte Carlo simulation results demonstrated the feasibility of the method. 展开更多

Most existing force feedback methods are still difficult to meet the requirements of real-time force calculation in virtual assembly and operation with complex objects. In addition, there is often an assumption that the controlled objects are completely flee and the target object is only completely fixed or flee, thus, the dynamics of the kinematic chain where the controlled objects are located are neglected during the physical simulation of the product manipulation with force feedback interaction. This paper proposes a physical simulation method of product assembly and operation manipulation based on statistically learned contact force prediction model and the coupling of force feedback and dynamics. In the proposed method, based on hidden Markov model (HMM) and local weighting learning (LWL), contact force prediction model is constructed, which can estimate the contact force in real time during interaction. Based on computational load balance model, the computing resources are dynamically assigned and the dynamics integral step is optimized. In addition, smoothing process is performed to the force feedback on the synchronization points. Consequently, we can solve the coupling and synchronization problems of high-frequency feedback force servo. low-frequency dynamics solver servo and scene rendering servo, and realize highly stable and accurate force feedback in the physical simulation of product assembly and operation manipulation. Jet pulse assembly is one of the main components of jet hydraulic oscillator.The pressure wave characteristics produced by jet pulse assembly have an important influence on the performance of the tool.In this paper,the structure and working principle of jet pulse assembly are studied,the mechanical analysis model of piston rod is established,the dynamic resistance ratio formula of jet pulse assembly is deduced,and the numerical simulation test of 89-mm jet pulse assembly structure parameters is carried out.The results show that the piston rod downward stroke is driven by both the jet element driving force and the throttle plate load driving force,and can stably descend.The driving force of the piston rod upward stroke jet element is opposite to the load acting force of the throttle disc,and the jet driving force needs to be greater than the load resistance of the throttle disc to stably ascend.The dynamic resistance ratio formula is deduced.When the area of the end of the piston rod is reduced,the resistance of the throttle disc is reduced and the jet power is increased,thus solving the problem of insufficient power of the piston rod in the upstroke and ensuring the normal operation of the tool.Ten groups of numerical simulation tests were carried out,and it was found that the pressure amplitude and pressure drop of the tool decreased significantly with the increase of the tool size,and the error between the numerical simulation value and the theoretical calculation value was less than 9%,which verified the correctness of the theory.It is suggested to select tools on site according to the drilling construction situation to ensure the drilling effect. 展开更多

In the present study,a facility,i.e.,a mechanical deflection system (MDS),was established and applied to assess the long-term reliability of the solder joints in plastic ball grid array (BGA) assembly.It was found that the MDS not only quickly assesses the long-term reliability of solder joints within days,but can also mimic similar failure mechanisms in accelerated thermal cycling (ATC) tests. Based on the MDS and ATC reliability experiments,the acceleration factors (AF) were obtained for different reliability testing conditions.Furthermore,by using the creep constitutive relation and fatigue life model developed in part I,a numerical approach was established for the purpose of virtual life prediction of solder joints. The simulation results were found to be in good agreement with the test results from the MDS.As a result,a new reliability assessment methodology was established as an alternative to ATC for the evaluation of long-term reliability of plastic BGA assembly. 展开更多

The main concept of the technique was the assembling components which could be combined and locked together to form a large caisson. The assembly coastal building technique was used in a sea access road in Zhuanghai 4X1 well, Dagang Oilfield. The design plans and in-situ tests in the sea access road project were introduced in detail. According to the Zhuanghai project, the numerical simulation method of assembly coastal building technique was proposed. 2D numerical simulations were performed in FLAC to analyze the displacement and stability of the technique in the construction process and post-construction period. The settlement calculated is close to the in-situ results, which proves that the proposed numerical method is reasonable. Results show that the assembly coastal building technique has large safety factor under the gravity loading and wave loadings. 展开更多

Understanding the molecular mechanism of the protein assembly still remains a challenge in the case of many biological systems. In this frame, the mechanism which drives RodA hydrophobins to self-assemble onto the surface of the conidia of the human fungal pathogen Aspergillus fumigatus into highly ordered nanorods known as rodlets, is still unresolved. Here, AFM investigations were combined with Monte Carlo simulations to elucidate how these small amphiphilic proteins self-assemble into tightly packed rodlets and how they are further organized in nanodomains. It becomes that the assembly of RodA hydrophobins into rodlets and their parallel alignment within nanodomains result from their anisotropic properties. Monte Carlo simulations allowed us to confirm that anisotropic interactions between macromolecules are sufficient to drive them to assembly into rodlets prior to nanodomains formation. Better knowledge of the mechanism of hydrophobins assembly into rodlets offers new prospects for the development of novel strategies leading to inhibition of rodlet formation, which should allow more rapid detection of the conidia by the immune system. 展开更多

On the basis of re- search, using assembly simulation techniques and multimedia techniques to finish structure design in linkage design of a large size wind-drive generator. Moreover, a new cellular automaton model describing the self-assembly process of the colloidal monolayer is introduced. Rather than simulate molecular self-assembly to establish the most energetically favored position, we reconstruct the self-assembly of the colloidal monolayer by adjusting several simple transition rules of a cellular automaton. This model captures the main self-assembly characteristics of SiO2 spheres, including experimental processing time, morphology, and some statistics. It possesses the advantage of less calculation and higher efficiency, paving a new way to simulate a mesoscopic system. 展开更多

This study aimed at designing and assembling an improvised Logic Gates Simulator that can be utilized as an instructional device in basic digital electronics instruction at Caraga State University Cabadbaran Campus, Philippines. This instructional device is believed to enhance the teaching-learning process and would also help address the scarcity of instructional equipment in the school and in the country. Descriptive method of research was employed to come up with the design of the simulator based on the course content of basic digital electronics subject. Acceptability of the improvised simulator based on standards set in this study was?gathered from the experts as respondents using a self-made questionnaire. The data were treated using average weighted mean utilizing parametric scales with verbal descriptions. Findings revealed that the improvised logic gates simulator is highly acceptable in terms of its cost and availability of components,?design and construction,operations, and troubleshooting features. It is concluded that the improvised logic gates simulator is at par in terms of standards on instructional devices based on the evaluation results of experts and is therefore recommended to be used in basic digital electronics instruction. The simulator is an innovative answer and an alternate solution to the scarcity of instructional materials and devices at Caraga State University Cabadbaran Campus. 展开更多

This paper presents an application of the simulated annealing algorithm to solve level schedules in mixed model assembly line. Solving production sequences with both number of setups and material usage rates to the minimum rate will optimize the level schedule. Miltenburg algorithm (1989) is first used to get seed sequence to optimize further. For this the utility time of the line and setup time requirement on each station is considered. This seed sequence is optimized by simulated annealing. This investigation helps to understand the importance of utility in the assembly line. Up to 15 product sequences are taken and constructed by using randomizing method and find the objective function value for this. For a sequence optimization, a meta-heuristic seems much more promising to guide the search into feasible regions of the solution space. Simulated annealing is a stochastic local search meta-heuristic, which bases the acceptance of a modified neighboring solution on a probabilistic scheme inspired by thermal processes for obtaining low-energy states in heat baths. Experimental results show that the simulated annealing approach is favorable and competitive compared to Miltenburg’s constructive algorithm for the problems set considered. It is proposed to found 16,985 solutions, the time taken for computation is 23.47 to 130.35, and the simulated annealing improves 49.33% than Miltenberg. 展开更多

Motion simulation and performance analysis of mechanism are important methods for analyzing assembly quality after finishing assembly simulation in virtual assembly environment. However, most simulation systems have no function of mechanism motion simulation due to the randomicity of mechanism and lack of universal mechanism modeling method. In order to realize the simulation of any mechanism after finishing assembly simulation in a virtual environment, a new universal mechanism modeling method is presented. Two main models are contained in the mechanism model: information model and mathematical model. Firstly, the information model of mechanism is proposed to describe the data structure of mechanism which contains bottom geometry data, information of constraint, link, kinematic pair and physical data. Because the object of mechanism simulation is the assembly, which is assembled during the process of assembly simulation, the information of mechanism can be obtained automatically through mechanism automatic search method. Secondly, mathematical model of mechanism is presented. The mathematical model uses mathematical method to express the mechanism. In order to realize the automatic expression of any random mechanism, basic constraint library is presented, consequently random mechanism can be described based on the basic constraint library. Finally, two examples are introduced to validate the method in the prototype system named VAPP(Virtual Assembly Process Planning). The validation result shows that the mechanism modeling provides a universal modeling method for mechanism motion simulation in virtual assembly environment. This research has important effect on the development both of mechanism motion simulation and virtual assembly. 展开更多
