Carbon monoxide （CO） is an odorless, colorless gas produced by incomplete combustion of carbonbased compounds. Exposure to CO can cause various adverse health effects ranging from headache and fatigue to coma and death. Thousands of illnesses and deaths have been documented through CO poisoning surveillance systems and accident investigations each year.

Nearly Perfect Absorbers Operating Associated with Fano Resonance in the Infrared Range

We fabricate a three-layer metamaterial of metal patterns/dielectric/metal films. The optical properties associated with Fano resonance of the metamaterials are investigated experimentally and theoretically. The results indicate that the introduction of Fano resonance due to symmetry breaking leads to a much wider absorption range. Furthermore, the amplitude and phase of reflection can be modulated effectively by adjusting various free parameters using the proposed structure.

WEAK TYPE ESTIMATES FOR THE MAXIMAL OPERATORS ASSOCIATED TO PLANE CURVES

THE CAUCHY-KOVALEVSKAYA THEOREM-OLD AND NEW

The paper surveys interactions between complex and functional-analytic methods in the CauchyKovalevskaya theory. For instance, the behaviour of the derivative of a bounded holomorphic function led to abstract versions of the Cauchy-Kovalevskaya Theorem.Recent trends in the Cauchy-Kovalevskaya theory are based on the concept of associated differential operators. Since an evolution operator may posses several associated operators, initial data may be decomposed into components belonging to different associated spaces.This technique makes it also possible to solve ill-posed initial value problems.

Properties and Stability of Max-Product Fuzzy Bi-Directional Associative Memory

In this paper, a fuzzy operator of max-product is defined at first, and the fuzzy bi-directional associative memory (FBAM) based on the fuzzy operator of max-product is given. Then the properties and the Lyapunov stability of equilibriums of the networks are studied.
