In this paper, the stability of iterative learning control with data dropouts is discussed. By the super vector formulation, an iterative learning control (ILC) system with data dropouts can be modeled as an asynchronous dynamical system with rate constraints on events in the iteration domain. The stability condition is provided in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIS) depending on the stability of asynchronous dynamical systems. The analysis is supported by simulations. 展开更多

A kind of networked control system with network-induced delay and packet dropout, modeled on asynchronous dynamical systems was tested, and the integrity design of the networked control system with sensors failures and actuators failures was analyzed using hybrid systems technique based on the robust fault-tolerant control theory. The parametric expression of controller is given based on the feasible solution of linear matrix inequality. The simulation results are provided on the basis of detailed theoretical analysis, which further demonstrate the validity of the proposed schema. 展开更多

Error codes induced by M-ary modulation and modulation selection in network-based control systems are studied. It is the first time the issue of error codes induced by M-ary modulation is addressed in control field. In network-based control systems, error codes induced by noisy channel can significantly decrease the quality of control. To solve this problem, the network-based control system with delay and noisy channel is firstly modeled as an asynchronous dynamic system(ADS).Secondly, conditions of packet with error codes(PEC)loss rate by using M-ary modulation are obtained based on dynamic output feedback scheme.Thirdly, more importantly, the selection principle of M-ary modulation is proposed according to the measured signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)and conditions of PEC loss rate. Finally, system stability is analyzed and controller is designed through Lyapunov function and linear matrix inequality(LMI)scheme, and numerical simulations are made to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. 展开更多

Chaotic genetic patchiness (CGP) refers to surprising patterns of spatial and temporal genetic structure observed in some marine species at a scale where genetic variation should be efficiently homogenized by gene flow via larval dispersal. Here we review and discuss 4 mechanisms that could generate such unexpected patterns: selection, sweepstakes reproductive success, collective dispersal, and temporal shifts in local population dynamics. First, we review examples where genetic differentiation at specific loci was driven by diversifying selection, which was historically the first process invoked to explain CGP. Second, we turn to neutral demographic processes that may drive genome-wide effects, and whose effects on CGP may be enhanced when they act together. We discuss how sweepstakes reproductive success accelerates genetic drift and can thus generate genetic structure, provided that gene flow is not too strong. Collective dispersal is another mechanism whereby genetic structure can be maintained regardless of dispersal intensity, because it may prevent larval cohorts from becoming entirely mixed. Theoretical analyses of both the sweepstakes and the collective dispersal ideas are presented. Finally, we discuss an idea that has received less attention than the other ones just mentioned, namely temporal shifts in local population dynamics. 展开更多
