This article introduces the basic concepts, principles, characteristics and the typical models of the audio information hiding. It then classifies the audio information hiding methods, according to the domain used by them including time, frequency, Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT), Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and the compressed., and discusses several mainstream algorithms in various domains. It finally points out that the audio information hiding technology cannot solve the problem of re-record attacks, but it also brings forward the possible solutions to this problem.展开更多

Compared with conventional methods, the waveband of VLC is harmless to human and safe to communication because of no magnetism radiation. An audio information transmission system using LED traffic lights is presented based on VLC technology. The system is consisted of transmitting terminal, receiving terminal and communication channel. Some experiments were made under real communication environment. The experimental results showed that the traffic information transmission system works steadily with good communication quality and achieves the purpose of transmitting audio information through LED traffic lights, with a data transfer rate up to 250 kbps over a distance of 5 meters.展开更多

A survey was distributed to patients over 18 years between May and July 2020 and 480 patients chose to respond. Results: Text-based patient education materials (leaflets), is the form that patients have the most experience with and was preferred by 86.46% of respondents;however, 50.21% and 31.67% of respondents would also like to receive patient education material in video and podcast formats, respectively. Furthermore, several respondents wrote about the need for different forms of patient education material, depending on the subject of the supplementary information. Conclusion: This study provides an overview of patient preferences regarding forms of patient education material. The results show that the majority of respondents prefer to use combinations of written, audio, and video material, thus applying and co-constructing a multimodal communication system, from which they select and apply different modes of communication from different sources simultaneously.展开更多

Timbre components are employed as the model’s main feature. To compute timbre similarity, extracting the spectrum features for each frame is necessary; the large set of frames is clustered using a Gaussian Mixture Model(GMM) and expectation maximization. The typical spectra frame from GMM is drawn as data points, and MR assigns each data point a relative ranking score, which is treated as a distance instead of as traditional similarity metrics based on pair-wise distance. Furthermore, the MR algorithm can be easily generalized by adding positive and negative examples from the RF algorithm and improves the final result. Experimental results show that the proposed approach effectively improves the ranking capabilities of existing distance functions.展开更多
