The effects of 5 lactic acid bacteria(LAB)fermentation on the pasting properties of glutinous rice flour were compared,and suitable fermentation strains were selected based on the changes of viscosity,setback value,an...The effects of 5 lactic acid bacteria(LAB)fermentation on the pasting properties of glutinous rice flour were compared,and suitable fermentation strains were selected based on the changes of viscosity,setback value,and breakdown value to prepare LAB compound starter cultures.The results revealed that Latilactobacillus sakei HSD004 and Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus HSD005 had apparent advantages in increasing the viscosity and reducing the setback and breakdown values of glutinous rice flour.In particular,the compound starter created using the two abovementioned LAB in the ratio of 3:1 had better performance than that using a single LAB in improving the pasting properties and increasing the water and oil absorption capacity of glutinous rice flour.Moreover,the gelatinization enthalpy of the fermented samples increased significantly.For frozen glutinous rice dough stored for 28 days,the viscoelasticity of frozen dough prepared by compound starter was better than that of control dough,and the freezable water content was lower than that of control dough.These results indicate that compound LAB fermentation is a promising technology in the glutinous rice-based food processing industry,which has significance for its application.展开更多

Rice callus suspension cultures(RCSC) and seed extracts prepared from aromatic rice varieties were used to evaluate the cytotoxic impact on human colon and lung cancer cell lines, as well as a normal control cell line, using Taxol as a positive control. RCSC and seed extracts from two Indian aromatic rice varieties were applied at different concentrations to treat the cancer cell lines and normal lung fibroblasts over varying time intervals. Apoptosis was assessed in 1:5 dilutions of the A549 and HT-29 cell lines treated with RCSC for 72 h, using propidium iodide staining and flow cytometry. RCSC showed a more potent cytotoxic effect than seed extracts with minimal effect on the normal cell line, in contrast to Taxol. Confocal microscopy and flow cytometry further confirmed the apoptotic effect of RCSC. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry-based metabolic profiling identified metabolites involved in cytotoxicity and highlighted altered pathways. RCSC is proposed as an alternative source for the development of novel anticancer drugs with reduced side effects.展开更多
Background: Over the past 20 years, cultured meat has drawn a lot of public attention as a potential solution to issues with animal husbandry, including inadequate use of natural sources, improper animal welfare pract...Background: Over the past 20 years, cultured meat has drawn a lot of public attention as a potential solution to issues with animal husbandry, including inadequate use of natural sources, improper animal welfare practices, and possible risks to public health and safety. The novel method of producing meat through culture reduces the need for animals to produce muscle fiber, thereby obviating the necessity for animal slaughter. Apart from its ethical advantages, cultured meat presents a possible way to fulfill the expanding need for food among growing populations. The purpose of this research was to find out whether Turkish students would be willing to pay for and accept cultured meat. Technique: Method: 371 university students who willingly consented to fill out a questionnaire and provide demographic data make up the research sample. Questions from previous studies on the acceptability of cultured meat were compiled to create the survey. The research’s data collection took place in March and April of 2022. The research was completed in June 2022 after the data had been processed and analyzed. Results: The results showed that the majority of participants were female and had omnivorous eating habits. Based on the results of the Bonferroni correction test, students with a higher intention to purchase and consume cultured meat were those who received economics and business education. Students with two years of university education had a higher overall survey score than those with four years of education (p < 0.05). Furthermore, it is discovered that there is a negative correlation between the participants’ ages and their Factor 2 (using cultured meat as an alternative to industrial meat) and Factor 3 (consuming and purchasing it) section points (r = -109, p = 0.036) (r = -0.121, p = 0.019). In conclusion, university students generally have a negative outlook on health-related issues, such as eating cultured meat as an alternative.展开更多
BACKGROUND We investigated the efficacy of intra-articular injection of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells(hUC-MSCs)for the treatment of osteoarthritis(OA)progression in the knee joint.Although many experimen...BACKGROUND We investigated the efficacy of intra-articular injection of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells(hUC-MSCs)for the treatment of osteoarthritis(OA)progression in the knee joint.Although many experimental studies of hUC-MSCs have been published,these studies have mainly used fetal bovine serumcontaining cultures of hUC-MSCs;serum-free cultures generally avoid the shortcomings of serum-containing cultures and are not subject to ethical limitations,have a wide range of prospects for clinical application,and provide a basis or animal experimentation for clinical experiments.AIM To study the therapeutic effects of serum-free hUC-MSCs(N-hUCMSCs)in a mouse model of knee OA.METHODS Fifty-five male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into six groups:The blank control group,model control group,serum-containing hUC-MSCs(S-hUCMSC)group,N-hUCMSC group and hyaluronic acid(HA)group.After 9 weeks of modeling,the serum levels of interleukin(IL)-1β and IL-1 were determined.Hematoxylin-eosin staining was used to observe the cartilage tissue,and the Mankin score was determined.Immunohistochemistry and western blotting were used to determine the expression of collagen type II,matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-1 and MMP-13.RESULTS The Mankin score and serum IL-1 and IL-1β and cartilage tissue MMP-1 and MMP-13 expression were significantly greater in the experimental group than in the blank control group(P<0.05).Collagen II expression in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the blank control group(P<0.05).The Mankin score and serum IL-1 and IL-1β and cartilage tissue MMP-1 and MMP-13 levels the experimental group were lower than those in the model control group(P<0.05).Collagen II expression in the experimental group was significantly greater than that in the model control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION N-hUCMSC treatment significantly alleviate the pathological damage caused by OA.The treatment effects of the ShUCMSC group and HA group were similar.展开更多

Research shows that producing fermented camel milk is hard because of the milk’s inability to form a firm coagulum, attributed to low levels of κ-casein and ꞵ-lactoglobulin and the large casein micelle size, leading...Research shows that producing fermented camel milk is hard because of the milk’s inability to form a firm coagulum, attributed to low levels of κ-casein and ꞵ-lactoglobulin and the large casein micelle size, leading to a weak network of casein formation. In an effort to address this issue, researchers turned to corn starch as a thickening agent, discovering that a concentration of 2.0% effectively improved the viscosity and significantly reduced syneresis in stirred camel milk yoghurt and cultured camel milk. This study explores alternatives to corn starch, focusing on butternut squash seeds as a promising substitute due to their hydrocolloid composition. By incorporating butternut squash (Cucurbita moschata) seed powder (BSSP) as a thickening agent, this study aimed at enhancing the chemical and rheological properties of stirred camel milk yoghurt and cultured camel milk. Fermented camel milk was prepared using 4 litres of camel milk, 2% starter cultures (thermophilic culture for yoghurt and mesophilic aromatic culture for stirred cultured camel milk) and BSSP 0.0% (negative control), 0.4%, 0.8%, 1.2%, 1.6%, 2.0% mixed with 0.4% gelatin. 2.0% corn starch mixed with 0.4% gelatin was used as a standard for comparison. Results showed that increasing the BSSP level significantly (p < 0.05) decreased the moisture content while increasing the total solid content of stirred fermented camel milk products. There was an increase in ash content with an increase in BSSP levels. There was a significant (p < 0.05) reduction in the pH, with an increase in BSSP levels in stirred fermented camel milk samples. Increasing the concentration of BSSP from 0.4% to 2.0% resulted in a significant (p < 0.05) increase in viscosity and a reduction in syneresis of stirred camel milk yoghurt and stirred cultured camel milk samples. This study demonstrated that BSSP effectively enhances the viscosity, reduces syneresis and increases acidity in stirred fermented camel milk products during storage.展开更多

[Objectives]This study was conducted to explore the source of substitutive substrate raw materials for cultivation of edible fungi,reduce the cutting and use of woody materials,and realize harmless treatment and resou...[Objectives]This study was conducted to explore the source of substitutive substrate raw materials for cultivation of edible fungi,reduce the cutting and use of woody materials,and realize harmless treatment and resource utilization of byproducts from Chinese medicine production and bamboo processing.[Methods]Traditional Chinese medicine residue and bamboo shavings were used to partially replace hardwood sawdust in the conventional formula,and the growth of Auricularia auricula mycelia in large test tubes under different substrate formulas was studied.[Results]The results showed that the mycelia of A.auricula could grow normally on substrates with byproducts,and the mycelia grew differently with different formulas,and the performance of different strains of the same species was also different.Compared with the conventional formula,the suitable substitution amount of bamboo shavings for A.auricula strains was 10%-30%,and the substitution amount of Chinese medicine residue was 5%-15%.[Conclusions]This study provides reference for the efficient utilization of byproducts and the expansion of raw material sources for production of edible fungi.展开更多
This study aimed to evaluate the effects of dietary yeast culture(YC)on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced oxidative stress,immune and inflammatory response in P.ussuriensis.The fish were randomly assigned into three gro...This study aimed to evaluate the effects of dietary yeast culture(YC)on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced oxidative stress,immune and inflammatory response in P.ussuriensis.The fish were randomly assigned into three groups as the control group,LPS group and YC+LPS group.The fish in the control were fed diet with no YC supplementation and no LPS challenge,and the fish in the LPS group or YC+LPS group were fed diet supplemented with no YC or 20 g·kg^(-1)YC,and with LPS challenge,respectively.The results showed that compared with the control group,intestinal total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC)level and superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity were significantly decreased,while intestinal malondialdehyde(MDA),plasma aspartate transaminase(AST)and alanine transaminase(ALT)levels were significantly increased in the LPS group(P<0.05).Besides,lower plasma alkaline phosphatase(ALP),alternative complement pathway(ACH50)activity and the albumin(ALB)level,as well as higher lysozyme(LZM)activity,were also found in the LPS group.However,dietary 20 g·kg^(-1)YC supplementation could relieve the above LPS-induced changes in Pseudobagrus ussuriensis.Furtherly,LPS challenge could significantly up-regulate gene expression of interleukin-8(IL-8),heat shock protein(HSP70)and NF-κBp65 except for toll-like receptors 2(TLR2),while dietary 20 g·kg^(-1)YC supplementation suppressed the increased expression of NF-κBp65 and IL-8 induced by LPS in P.ussuriensis.In summary,LPS challenge could induce immune impairment,oxidative stress and hepatic damage,and the protective effect of dietary 20 g·kg^(-1)YC supplementation on LPS-induced immune impairment and oxidative stress was observed in the present study,which was associated with the enhanced levels of antioxidant enzymes and immune parameters.Also,dietary 20 g·kg^(-1)YC supplementation could suppress LPS-induced inflammatory response by down-regulating NF-κBp65,HSP70 and IL-8 gene expression.展开更多

Lonicera hypoglauca is a traditional Chinese medicinal plant.In this study,the tender young leaves of L.hypoglauca were used for the first time as the explants to establish a rapid in vitro propagation and regeneratio...Lonicera hypoglauca is a traditional Chinese medicinal plant.In this study,the tender young leaves of L.hypoglauca were used for the first time as the explants to establish a rapid in vitro propagation and regeneration system.The results revealed that the optimal time for disinfection of the explants was 8 min and the optimal medium for callus induction was MS+2,4-D 4.0 mg·L^(-1)+sucrose 30 g·L^(-1),with an average callus induction rate of 86.67%.The optimal medium to induce differentiation of callus to bud was MS+6-BA 1.0 mg·L^(-1)+NAA 0.10 mg·L^(-1)+sucrose 30 g·L^(-1),with an average germination rate of 83.33%.The optimal medium to induce multiplication was MS+6-BA 1.5 mg·L^(-1)+NAA 0.05 mg·L^(-1)+sucrose 30 g·L^(-1),with a multiplication coefficient of 5.42.The optimal medium for root induction was 1/2 MS+NAA 0.15 mg·L^(-1)+activated carbon 0.3 g·L^(-1)+sucrose 15 g·L^(-1),with an average rooting rate of 91.11%.The survival rate of tissue-cultured seedlings in nutrient soil cultivation medium was as high as 100%.The total flavonoid content and chlorogenic acid content in the explant,callus tissue and regenerated plant were 1.83%,2.27%,1.33%and 2.77%,1.83%,1.74%respectively.This study provides novel insights into the rapid propagation and mass production of L.hypoglauca seedlings at an industrial scale and that it exhibits important application value and future prospects.展开更多

The purpose of this study is to offer a better comprehension of what happens in organizations when enhancing organizational culture through consciousness by linking the market-oriented ecosystem variables and analyzin...The purpose of this study is to offer a better comprehension of what happens in organizations when enhancing organizational culture through consciousness by linking the market-oriented ecosystem variables and analyzing their relationship with a conscious organization.Design and methodology:Two questionnaires were used to test the hypotheses,the market-oriented ecosystem 38-item(Yeung&Ulrich,2019),and the conscious organization model 7-item adaptation(Sisoda,2018).Pearson correlations were calculated to measure the strength of the linear relationship among the variables involved in each one of the hypotheses,and coefficient alpha(coefficient𝛼)was used to analyze the reliability,to measure the internal consistency of the scales.Relevant findings:Context,ecosystem organizational structure,governance,and people ecosystem were positively correlated to a conscious organization.The originality of this study is based on use of the interaction among the variables of the market-oriented ecosystem model(continuous changing context,ecosystem organizational structure,governance,and people ecosystem)and a conscious organizational culture.Finally,the practical implications of having high levels of the market-oriented ecosystem variables predict high level of consciousness in organizations.These variables require careful consideration,a proactive planning process to enhance organizational culture through consciousness.展开更多

Questions from previous studies on the acceptability of cultured meat were compiled to create the survey. The research’s data collection took place in March and April of 2022. The research was completed in June 2022 after the data had been processed and analyzed. Results: The results showed that the majority of participants were female and had omnivorous eating habits. Based on the results of the Bonferroni correction test, students with a higher intention to purchase and consume cultured meat were those who received economics and business education. Students with two years of university education had a higher overall survey score than those with four years of education (p < 0.05). Furthermore, it is discovered that there is a negative correlation between the participants’ ages and their Factor 2 (using cultured meat as an alternative to industrial meat) and Factor 3 (consuming and purchasing it) section points (r = -109, p = 0.036) (r = -0.121, p = 0.019). In conclusion, university students generally have a negative outlook on health-related issues, such as eating cultured meat as an alternative.

文摘BACKGROUND We investigated the efficacy of intra-articular injection of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells(hUC-MSCs)for the treatment of osteoarthritis(OA)progression in the knee joint.Although many experimental studies of hUC-MSCs have been published,these studies have mainly used fetal bovine serumcontaining cultures of hUC-MSCs;serum-free cultures generally avoid the shortcomings of serum-containing cultures and are not subject to ethical limitations,have a wide range of prospects for clinical application,and provide a basis or animal experimentation for clinical experiments.AIM To study the therapeutic effects of serum-free hUC-MSCs(N-hUCMSCs)in a mouse model of knee OA.METHODS Fifty-five male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into six groups:The blank control group,model control group,serum-containing hUC-MSCs(S-hUCMSC)group,N-hUCMSC group and hyaluronic acid(HA)group.After 9 weeks of modeling,the serum levels of interleukin(IL)-1β and IL-1 were determined.Hematoxylin-eosin staining was used to observe the cartilage tissue,and the Mankin score was determined.Immunohistochemistry and western blotting were used to determine the expression of collagen type II,matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-1 and MMP-13.RESULTS The Mankin score and serum IL-1 and IL-1β and cartilage tissue MMP-1 and MMP-13 expression were significantly greater in the experimental group than in the blank control group(P<0.05).Collagen II expression in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the blank control group(P<0.05).The Mankin score and serum IL-1 and IL-1β and cartilage tissue MMP-1 and MMP-13 levels the experimental group were lower than those in the model control group(P<0.05).Collagen II expression in the experimental group was significantly greater than that in the model control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION N-hUCMSC treatment significantly alleviate the pathological damage caused by OA.The treatment effects of the ShUCMSC group and HA group were similar.
文摘The purpose of this article is to reveal the historiography and current state of research related to the cult buildings of the Eneolithic period of the Cucuteni-Trypillian cultural community.The article describes the historical path of archaeological discoveries,from the first Trypillian sanctuaries to the discovery of the largest Nebelivka temple complex in Ukraine in 2012.At the same time,the work partially raises the issue of religious beliefs of the ancient farmers of Central Europe in connection with the discovery of their sacred buildings.Since special scientific works have not comprehensively addressed this issue and are still fragmentary in nature,it is important at the present stage of research to make some coverage and systematization of existing materials on this issue.
文摘Research shows that producing fermented camel milk is hard because of the milk’s inability to form a firm coagulum, attributed to low levels of κ-casein and ꞵ-lactoglobulin and the large casein micelle size, leading to a weak network of casein formation. In an effort to address this issue, researchers turned to corn starch as a thickening agent, discovering that a concentration of 2.0% effectively improved the viscosity and significantly reduced syneresis in stirred camel milk yoghurt and cultured camel milk. This study explores alternatives to corn starch, focusing on butternut squash seeds as a promising substitute due to their hydrocolloid composition. By incorporating butternut squash (Cucurbita moschata) seed powder (BSSP) as a thickening agent, this study aimed at enhancing the chemical and rheological properties of stirred camel milk yoghurt and cultured camel milk. Fermented camel milk was prepared using 4 litres of camel milk, 2% starter cultures (thermophilic culture for yoghurt and mesophilic aromatic culture for stirred cultured camel milk) and BSSP 0.0% (negative control), 0.4%, 0.8%, 1.2%, 1.6%, 2.0% mixed with 0.4% gelatin. 2.0% corn starch mixed with 0.4% gelatin was used as a standard for comparison. Results showed that increasing the BSSP level significantly (p < 0.05) decreased the moisture content while increasing the total solid content of stirred fermented camel milk products. There was an increase in ash content with an increase in BSSP levels. There was a significant (p < 0.05) reduction in the pH, with an increase in BSSP levels in stirred fermented camel milk samples. Increasing the concentration of BSSP from 0.4% to 2.0% resulted in a significant (p < 0.05) increase in viscosity and a reduction in syneresis of stirred camel milk yoghurt and stirred cultured camel milk samples. This study demonstrated that BSSP effectively enhances the viscosity, reduces syneresis and increases acidity in stirred fermented camel milk products during storage.

文摘The construction of rural cultural auditorium is conducive to gathering local popularity,excavating history and continuing civilization,and it has become a powerful driving force for cultural revitalization in rural revitalization.However,the development of"Rural Cultural Auditorium"encountered many problems so far.From the perspective of rural cultural revitalization,and under the background of the new socialist rural cultural construction in China,this paper takes the rural cultural auditorium as the topic.The field questionnaire survey and semi-structured interview were constructed in Village A and Village B of Zhejiang Province,.SPSS software is used to analyze the collected questionnaire data.On the basis of combing related concepts and theories,it summs up the problems of"rural cultural auditorium",such as the existence of cultural auditorium,low participation rate of cultural auditorium activities,poor information communication,etc.Through visiting and investigating,going deep into the local area,according solutions are put forward such as increasing content diversity,paying attention to publicity and increasing interaction,so as to promote the healthy and sustainable development of rural cultural auditorium.It is hoped that this paper will explore the significance of the construction of rural cultural auditorium to the revitalization of rural culture in China,and put forward ideas on how to further build rural cultural auditorium,so as to provide reference for rural cultural construction services.

文摘[Objectives]This study was conducted to explore the source of substitutive substrate raw materials for cultivation of edible fungi,reduce the cutting and use of woody materials,and realize harmless treatment and resource utilization of byproducts from Chinese medicine production and bamboo processing.[Methods]Traditional Chinese medicine residue and bamboo shavings were used to partially replace hardwood sawdust in the conventional formula,and the growth of Auricularia auricula mycelia in large test tubes under different substrate formulas was studied.[Results]The results showed that the mycelia of A.auricula could grow normally on substrates with byproducts,and the mycelia grew differently with different formulas,and the performance of different strains of the same species was also different.Compared with the conventional formula,the suitable substitution amount of bamboo shavings for A.auricula strains was 10%-30%,and the substitution amount of Chinese medicine residue was 5%-15%.[Conclusions]This study provides reference for the efficient utilization of byproducts and the expansion of raw material sources for production of edible fungi.

文摘This study aimed to evaluate the effects of dietary yeast culture(YC)on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced oxidative stress,immune and inflammatory response in P.ussuriensis.The fish were randomly assigned into three groups as the control group,LPS group and YC+LPS group.The fish in the control were fed diet with no YC supplementation and no LPS challenge,and the fish in the LPS group or YC+LPS group were fed diet supplemented with no YC or 20 g·kg^(-1)YC,and with LPS challenge,respectively.The results showed that compared with the control group,intestinal total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC)level and superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity were significantly decreased,while intestinal malondialdehyde(MDA),plasma aspartate transaminase(AST)and alanine transaminase(ALT)levels were significantly increased in the LPS group(P<0.05).Besides,lower plasma alkaline phosphatase(ALP),alternative complement pathway(ACH50)activity and the albumin(ALB)level,as well as higher lysozyme(LZM)activity,were also found in the LPS group.However,dietary 20 g·kg^(-1)YC supplementation could relieve the above LPS-induced changes in Pseudobagrus ussuriensis.Furtherly,LPS challenge could significantly up-regulate gene expression of interleukin-8(IL-8),heat shock protein(HSP70)and NF-κBp65 except for toll-like receptors 2(TLR2),while dietary 20 g·kg^(-1)YC supplementation suppressed the increased expression of NF-κBp65 and IL-8 induced by LPS in P.ussuriensis.In summary,LPS challenge could induce immune impairment,oxidative stress and hepatic damage,and the protective effect of dietary 20 g·kg^(-1)YC supplementation on LPS-induced immune impairment and oxidative stress was observed in the present study,which was associated with the enhanced levels of antioxidant enzymes and immune parameters.Also,dietary 20 g·kg^(-1)YC supplementation could suppress LPS-induced inflammatory response by down-regulating NF-κBp65,HSP70 and IL-8 gene expression.

文摘The Five Plague Gods(五瘟神) in the Shuilu(水陆) murals from the Ming and Qing dynasties exemplify a distinctive manifestation of plague gods image developed under the pedigree of Taoist gods.As a significant system for expelling disasters in Shuilu,the depiction of the Five Plague Gods prominently merges human beings and livestock.This shape form to a large extent,draws on the image of Nuo(傩),a figure reflecting an imagination of the host of plague pathogens.In terms of the numbers of gods,it aligns with the conceptual framework of Wu Xing(五行 the five elements),a foundational principle in traditional Chinese medicine.The internal cultural connection highlights the means of plague prevention and control in China,as well as the external reflection of plague culture.Through multi-dimensional interpretations with the double proof method,this article dissects the formation,core elements,and cultural characteristics of the beliefs in the Five Plague Gods reflected in the Shuilu murals,and transcends mere visual semantics,offering a deeper understanding of these complex cultural symbols.
文摘Lonicera hypoglauca is a traditional Chinese medicinal plant.In this study,the tender young leaves of L.hypoglauca were used for the first time as the explants to establish a rapid in vitro propagation and regeneration system.The results revealed that the optimal time for disinfection of the explants was 8 min and the optimal medium for callus induction was MS+2,4-D 4.0 mg·L^(-1)+sucrose 30 g·L^(-1),with an average callus induction rate of 86.67%.The optimal medium to induce differentiation of callus to bud was MS+6-BA 1.0 mg·L^(-1)+NAA 0.10 mg·L^(-1)+sucrose 30 g·L^(-1),with an average germination rate of 83.33%.The optimal medium to induce multiplication was MS+6-BA 1.5 mg·L^(-1)+NAA 0.05 mg·L^(-1)+sucrose 30 g·L^(-1),with a multiplication coefficient of 5.42.The optimal medium for root induction was 1/2 MS+NAA 0.15 mg·L^(-1)+activated carbon 0.3 g·L^(-1)+sucrose 15 g·L^(-1),with an average rooting rate of 91.11%.The survival rate of tissue-cultured seedlings in nutrient soil cultivation medium was as high as 100%.The total flavonoid content and chlorogenic acid content in the explant,callus tissue and regenerated plant were 1.83%,2.27%,1.33%and 2.77%,1.83%,1.74%respectively.This study provides novel insights into the rapid propagation and mass production of L.hypoglauca seedlings at an industrial scale and that it exhibits important application value and future prospects.

文摘F.Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby successfully portrays the“Jazz Age”.In the early 20th century,the United States transitioned from a production-based society to a consumer-based society,leading to an era of unparalleled prosperity.However,in the context of consumer culture,individuals often transition from being masters of their possessions to becoming enslaved by them.As a result,their behaviours and values become increasingly associated with extravagance and consumption.This paper uses Baudrillard’s theory of consumer society and textual analysis to explore the impact of consumer culture on human beings through the symbolization of men and objectification of women in The Great Gatsby.The meanings embedded in the novel are revealed from a different perspective.
文摘The purpose of this study is to offer a better comprehension of what happens in organizations when enhancing organizational culture through consciousness by linking the market-oriented ecosystem variables and analyzing their relationship with a conscious organization.Design and methodology:Two questionnaires were used to test the hypotheses,the market-oriented ecosystem 38-item(Yeung&Ulrich,2019),and the conscious organization model 7-item adaptation(Sisoda,2018).Pearson correlations were calculated to measure the strength of the linear relationship among the variables involved in each one of the hypotheses,and coefficient alpha(coefficient𝛼)was used to analyze the reliability,to measure the internal consistency of the scales.Relevant findings:Context,ecosystem organizational structure,governance,and people ecosystem were positively correlated to a conscious organization.The originality of this study is based on use of the interaction among the variables of the market-oriented ecosystem model(continuous changing context,ecosystem organizational structure,governance,and people ecosystem)and a conscious organizational culture.Finally,the practical implications of having high levels of the market-oriented ecosystem variables predict high level of consciousness in organizations.These variables require careful consideration,a proactive planning process to enhance organizational culture through consciousness.

文摘As a new trend in tourism and cultural development,the integration of culture and tourism is capturing the zeitgeist with its unique charm.In this context,various regions have explored distinctive cultural tourism resources and created unique tourism brands through in-depth exploration and innovation of local culture.Chongqing,with its unique geomorphological features and distinctive architectural style,retains the deep flavor of traditional Chinese culture while cleverly integrating the futuristic sense of modern technology.This combination aligns perfectly with today’s popular Chinese cyberpunk style,making Chongqing an ideal place for the development of cyberpunk cultural tourism.This article investigates the history of cyberpunk culture and its current development status in Chongqing through a literature review.It then discusses the feasibility of developing cyberpunk cultural tourism in terms of social and cultural development needs and market demand.Based on a survey of cyberpunk tourists’experiences,the article deeply analyzes the existing problems of cyberpunk cultural tourism in Chongqing and proposes corresponding experience enhancement strategies,aiming to provide references for the development of cyberpunk cultural tourism in Chongqing Municipality.

文摘Integrating Chinese culture into college English can not only enhance students’humanities literacy and cultivate their cultural confidence,but also facilitate the inheritance and international dissemination of Chinese culture.Taking Tyler’s curriculum framework as the starting point,this paper analyzes some factors that affect the integration of Chinese culture into the college English teaching and proposes some strategies for the integration of Chinese culture into college English teaching by innovating teaching objectives,enriching teaching contents,transforming modes of course delivery,and reconstructing the assessment system.
