The method is brought forward in virtue of the characteristics of low frequency oscillation induced by the propellant ionization in the channel and the oriented movement feature of the plasma density out of the channel. The method, equivalent to the correlation method generally used in the signal processing field, provides a solution to the problem of specific impulse measurement on a timescale of hundreds of microseconds and makes the time evolution of average plasma velocity clear. The comparison between the measured value and the calibrated value shows that the relative error is about 3%.展开更多

In accordance with the principle of similarity in geology and topography, the Vs^30 (the average shear-velocity down to a 30m depth below the surface) approximation of sites is acquired by correlation between Vs^30 ...In accordance with the principle of similarity in geology and topography, the Vs^30 (the average shear-velocity down to a 30m depth below the surface) approximation of sites is acquired by correlation between Vs^30 and slopes after calculating the maximum slope of topography using the 30-sec Chinese Mainland DEM (Digital Elevation Model) data set. Site-amplification factors are then quantified with Vs^30 and applied to the ShakeMap system developed by this study to revise ground-motion amplitudes on bedrock estimated from empirical relationships. Finally, the distribution of ground motion parameters on the surface is obtained. This article also introduces the calculation process, calculation models of the ShakeMap systems and related software systems. In conclusion, certain examples indicate that the ShakeMap system is feasible in the Chinese Mainland.展开更多
There is considerable safety potential in ensuring that motorists respect the speed limits. High speeds increase the number and severity of accidents. Technological development over the last 20 years has enabled the d...There is considerable safety potential in ensuring that motorists respect the speed limits. High speeds increase the number and severity of accidents. Technological development over the last 20 years has enabled the development of systems that allow automatic speed control. The first generation of automatic speed control was point-based, but in recent years a potentially more effective alternative automatic speed control method has been introduced. This method is based upon records of drivers’ average travel speed over selected sections of the road and is normally called average speed control or section control. This article discusses the different methods for automatic speed control and presents an evaluation of the safety effects of average speed control, documented through changes in speed levels and accidents before and after the implementation of average speed control at selected sites in the UK. The study demonstrates that the introduction of average speed control results in statistically significant and substantial reductions both in speed and in number of accidents. The evaluation indicates that average speed control has a higher safety effect than point-based automatic speed control.展开更多

It indicates that the averaging effect has no influences on measuring a rotor's rotating error, but it has visible influences on measuring the rotor's profile error. According to the frequency spectrum of the averaging effect, the actual sampling data can be adjusted reasonably, thus measuring precision is improved.展开更多
