A new method for the white blood cell (WBC) detection is presented based on the relevance vector machine (RVM). Firstly,the sparse relevance vectors (RVs) are obtained while fitting the 1-D histogram by RVM. Then,the needed threshold value is directly selected from these limited RVs. Finally,the entire connective WBC regions are segmented from the original image. The method is used for the WBC detection. It reduces the interference induced by the illumination and the staining. It has advantages of the high computation efficiency and the no extra parameter setting. Experimental results demonstrate good performances of the method. 展开更多

In order to analyze the experimental cardiovascular signal with high accuracy, a system, integrating real-time monitoring and off-line further analysis, was developed and verified. The design, data processing and analysis methods as well as testing results are described. With 5 sampling frequency choices and 8 channel data acquisition, the system achieved high performances in beat-to-beat monitoring, signal processing and analysis. Tests were carried out to validate its performance in real-time monitoring, effectiveness of digital filters, QRS and blood pressure detection reliability, and RR-interval timing accuracy. The QRS detection rate was at least 99.46% for the records with few noises from MIT-BIH arrhythmia database using the algorithm for real-time monitoring, and no less than 96.43% for the records with some noises. In the condition that noise amplitude levels were less than 80%,the standard deviations for RR-interval timing were less than 1 ms with a generated ECG corrupted with various noises from MIT-BIH Noise Stress Test Database. Besides, the system is open for function expansion to meet further study-specific needs. 展开更多

Objective To determine the diagnostic significance of detecting the specific epithelial keratin CK-20 mRNA in peripheral venous blood from patients with bladder carcinomas. Methods Reverse transcription coupled with two-step polymerase chain reaction (nested RT-PCR) was used to detect CK-20 mRNA expression in the peripheral blood from patients with blodder carcinomas. Results Detection of CK-20 mRNA expression was positive in 37 of 91 patients with bladder carcinoma (41 % ). Among 20 patients with distant metastasis, 17 were positive (85 % ). CK-20 mRNA was not detectable in the blood samples from 25 normal individuals. The frequency of positive CK-20 mRNA expression was signficantly higher in those with distant metastasis. Conclusion The presence of CK-20 mRNA expression in peripheral blood may be used as an early indicator of hematogenous metastasis of bladder carcinoma cells. 6 refs,1 tab. 展开更多

Blood smear test is the basic method of blood cytology and is also a standard medical test that can help diagnose various conditions and diseases.Morphological examination is the gold stan-dard to determine pathological changes in blood cell morphology.In the biology and medicine automation trend,blood smears'automated management and analysis is very necessary.An online blood smear automatic microscopic image detection system has been constructed.It includes an online blood smear automatic producing part and a blood smear automatic micro-scopic image detection part.Online identity authentication is at the core of the system.The identifiers printed online always present dot matrix digit code(DMDC)whose stroke is not continuous.Considering the particularities of DMDC and the complexities of online application environment,an online identity authentication method for blood smear with heterological theory is proposed.By synthesizing the certain regional features according to the heterological theory,high identification accuracy and high speed have been guaranteed with few features required.In the experiment,the suficient correct matches bet ween the tube barcode and the identification result verified its feasibility and validity. 展开更多

AIM To detect blood withdrawal for patients with arterial blood pressure monitoring to increase patient safety and provide better sample dating.METHODS Blood pressure information obtained from a patient monitor was fed as a real-time data stream to an experimental medical framework. This framework was connected to an analytical application which observes changes in systolic, diastolic and mean pressure to determine anomalies in the continuous data stream. Detection was based on an increased mean blood pressure caused by the closing of the withdrawal three-way tap and an absence of systolic and diastolic measurements during this manipulation. For evaluation of the proposed algorithm, measured data from animal studies in healthy pigs were used.RESULTS Using this novel approach for processing real-time measurement data of arterial pressure monitoring, the exact time of blood withdrawal could be successfully detected retrospectively and in real-time. The algorithm was able to detect 422 of 434(97%) blood withdrawals for blood gas analysis in the retrospective analysis of 7 study trials. Additionally, 64 sampling events for other procedures like laboratory and activated clotting time analyses were detected. The proposed algorithm achieved a sensitivity of 0.97, a precision of 0.96 and an F1 score of 0.97.CONCLUSION Arterial blood pressure monitoring data can be used toperform an accurate identification of individual blood samplings in order to reduce sample mix-ups and thereby increase patient safety. 展开更多

High-sensitivity detection of porphyrin in blood is very important for the early diagnosis and treatment of porphyria.Based on the advantages of longer luminescence lifetime and lower background interference,organic afterglow molecular porphyrin detection probes were developed,but these probes show poor water solubility and insufficient luminescence intensity.Herein,we present an afterglow nanoprobe(Eu-NP)for porphyria detection in whole blood.The luminescent substance(europium complex)and the organic vinyl co mpound reacted with singlet oxygen(^(1)O_(2))were selected for encapsulation in polystyrene spheres.Eu-NP can respond to^(1)O_(2)produced by porphyrins,and the detection signals can be obtained by the emission of the afterglow Eu^(3+)-emissive nanosensor.Eu-NP can achieve high-sensitivity detection of porphyrin,and the lowest detection limit reaches 0.29μmol/L.The porphyrin detection in whole blood samples is consistent with clinical diagnosis results.Compared with the organic afterglow molecule,the Eu-NPs constructed in this work show a higher signal-to-noise ratio and sensitivity of porphyria detection. 展开更多

目的比较人工右臂血压测量和计算机程序控制血压测量(CCBPM)两种血压测量方式对高血压检出率的影响。方法本研究为横断面研究。选取2024年4—6月在江西省某村镇例行健康检查的老年居民为调查对象,用电子血压计进行人工右臂血压测量,同... 目的比较人工右臂血压测量和计算机程序控制血压测量(CCBPM)两种血压测量方式对高血压检出率的影响。方法本研究为横断面研究。选取2024年4—6月在江西省某村镇例行健康检查的老年居民为调查对象,用电子血压计进行人工右臂血压测量,同时采用CCBPM进行规范化双臂同步血压测量。记录电子血压计测得的人工右臂血压数据、CCBPM第1次测量收缩压更高一侧参考臂的血压数据(CCBPM单次)以及CCBPM 2次(若前2次测量差值≤5 mmHg,1 mmHg=0.133 kPa)或3次(若前2次测量差值>5 mmHg则需进行第3次测量)测量的血压均值中收缩压更高一侧参考臂的血压数据平均值(CCBPM均值),比较3组数据之间高血压检出率的差异。并依据年龄(60~74岁为老年组,≥75岁为高龄组)、性别进行亚组分析。通过分析组内相关系数(ICC)评价不同血压测量方式血压数据的一致性,分析Kappa值评价不同血压测量方式高血压分级的一致性。结果最终入选1498人,年龄(71.30±6.83)岁,其中男性678人(45.26%)。人工右臂测得的血压及心率高于CCBPM单次[血压:(140.09±17.19)/(82.40±10.93)mmHg比(135.31±18.98)/(81.23±10.51)mmHg;心率:(75.76±11.72)次/min比(72.94±11.21)次/min]和CCBPM均值测量方法[血压:(140.09±17.19)/(82.40±10.93)mmHg比(134.64±18.39)/(80.28±9.78)mmHg;心率:(75.76±11.72)次/min比(72.87±10.70)次/min,P均<0.05]。依据CCBPM均值方法确定的高血压检出率明显低于人工右臂[40.25%(603/1498)比54.34%(814/1498)]和CCBPM单次测量方法[40.25%(603/1498)比44.79%(671/1498),P均<0.05]。亚组分析显示,无论性别和年龄差异,依据CCBPM均值确定的高血压检出率均低于人工右臂测量方法(P均<0.05)。人工右臂和CCBPM均值血压测量方法的血压数据的一致性中等(收缩压:ICC=0.70;舒张压:ICC=0.62),高血压分级的一致性较低(Kappa=0.37)。CCBPM单次和CCBPM均值血压测量方法的血压数据的一致性极高(收缩压:ICC=0.94;舒张压:ICC=0.91),高血压分级的一致性也较高(Kappa=0.74)。结论在健康体查中,人工右臂血压测量可能会高估高血压检出率,使用CCBPM方法进行规范化双臂同步血压测量可以减少血压测量不规范的现象。 展开更多
