A conceptual synchronous stratigraphic boundary, corresponding...Sequence boundary is studied in detail in reference to the Permian Guadalupian Lopingian boundary, based on high resolution correlation of conodont zones. A conceptual synchronous stratigraphic boundary, corresponding to the age of the sequence boundary dated in the conformable portion of the sequence boundary, is defined as the sequence chronostratigraphic boundary (SCB). The sequence boundary is proved to be dual in nature in regards to tin-synchrony and diachroneity of stratigraphic boundaries. The merits of the sequence boundary in stratigraphic subdivision, correlation and classification are elucidated in comparison with the lithostratigraphic boundary, the biostratigraphic boundary and the traditional approach of the global stratotype section and point (GSSP ). By integrating the virtues of the sequence boundary and the GSSP, it is proposed that the GSSP should be established in the conformable portion of the related sequence boundary. The boundary established in light of this approach is defined as the best natural boundary. The analysis of the sequence boundary leads to the conclusion that sequence stratigraphy is a regional and transitional stratigraphic system between local lithostratigraphy and global chronostratigraphy. Therefore, a new tripartite stratigraphic classification scheme is tentatively proposed.展开更多

The...A computational model is proposed for short-fiber reinforced materials with the eigenstrain formulation of the boundary integral equations (BIE) and solved with the newly developed boundary point method (BPM). The model is closely derived from the concept of the equivalent inclusion Of Eshelby tensors. Eigenstrains are iteratively determined for each short-fiber embedded in the matrix with various properties via the Eshelby tensors, which can be readily obtained beforehand either through analytical or numerical means. As unknown variables appear only on the boundary of the solution domain, the solution scale of the inhomogeneity problem with the model is greatly reduced. This feature is considered significant because such a traditionally time-consuming problem with inhomogeneity can be solved most cost-effectively compared with existing numerical models of the FEM or the BEM. The numerical examples are presented to compute the overall elastic properties for various short-fiber reinforced composites over a representative volume element (RVE), showing the validity and the effectiveness of the proposed computational modal and the solution procedure.展开更多

The stability and boundary equilibrium bifurcations for a modified Chua's circuit system with the smooth degree of 3 are studied. The parametric areas of stability are specified in detail. It is found that the bifurcation graphs of the su- percritical and irregular pitchfork bifurcations are similar to those of the piecewise-smooth continuous (PWSC) systems caused by piecewise smoothness. However, the bifurcation graph of the supercritical Hopf bifurcation is similar to those of smooth systems. There- fore, the boundary equilibrium bifurcations of the non-smooth systems with the smooth degree of 3 should receive more attention due to their special features.展开更多

This study deals with the stagnation point flow of ferrofluid over a flat plate with non-linear slip boundary condition in the presence of homogeneous-heterogeneous reactions.Three kinds of ferroparticles,namely,magne...This study deals with the stagnation point flow of ferrofluid over a flat plate with non-linear slip boundary condition in the presence of homogeneous-heterogeneous reactions.Three kinds of ferroparticles,namely,magnetite(Fe_3O_4),cobalt ferrite(CoFe_2O_4) and manganese zinc ferrite(Mn-ZnFe_2O_4) are taken into account with water and kerosene as conventional base fluids.The developed model of homogeneous-heterogeneous reactions in boundary layer flow with equal and unequal diffusivities for reactant and autocatalysis is considered.The governing partial differential equations are converted into system of non-linear ordinary differential equations by mean of similarity transformations.These ordinary differential equations are integrated numerically using shooting method.The effects of pertinent parameters on velocity and concentration profiles are presented graphically and discussed.We found that in the presence of Fe_3O_4-kerosene and CoFe_2O_4-kerosene,velocity profiles increase for large values of α and β whereas there is a decrement in concentration profiles with increasing values of if and K_s.Furthermore,the comparison between non-magnetic(A1_2O_3) and magnetic Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles is given in tabular form.展开更多

This paper theoretically studies the recombination-dominated nonequilibrium reacting flow inside the stagnation point bound- ary layer (SPBL) and the heat transfer characteristics under rarefied conditions. A genera...This paper theoretically studies the recombination-dominated nonequilibrium reacting flow inside the stagnation point bound- ary layer (SPBL) and the heat transfer characteristics under rarefied conditions. A general model is intuitively proposed to de- scribe the energy transfer and conversion along the stagnation streamline towards a slightly blunted nose with non-catalytic wall surface. It is found that the atoms recombination effects inside the SPBL could be equivalent to a modification on the de- gree of dissociation in the external flow. As a result, a recombination nonequilibrium criterion Dar, that is a specific DamktSh- let number, is introduced to characterize the nonequilibrium degree of the reacting flow in the SPBL, and then, based on the general model and Dar, a bridging function indicating the nonequilibrium chemical effects on the SPBL heat transfer is estab- lished. By using the explicitly analytical bridging function, the flow and heat transfer mechanisms, including the real gas flow similarity law and the nonequilibrium flow regimes classification, are discussed. In addition, the direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method has also been employed to systematically validate the analytical results.展开更多

The point at which the stresses and/or displacements are calculated can be in the body or on the boundary, and in the plastic region or elastic one. The existence of the principal value integral in the plastic region is demonstrated strictly, and the theoretical basis is presented for the paticular solution method by unit initial stress fields. In the present method, programming is easy and general, and the numerical results are excellent.

The image set is precompact, and thus a fixed point exists. A multi-scale expansion method is used to obtain the homogenized equation. This equation satisfies a similar growth condition.
文摘This study deals with the stagnation point flow of ferrofluid over a flat plate with non-linear slip boundary condition in the presence of homogeneous-heterogeneous reactions.Three kinds of ferroparticles,namely,magnetite(Fe_3O_4),cobalt ferrite(CoFe_2O_4) and manganese zinc ferrite(Mn-ZnFe_2O_4) are taken into account with water and kerosene as conventional base fluids.The developed model of homogeneous-heterogeneous reactions in boundary layer flow with equal and unequal diffusivities for reactant and autocatalysis is considered.The governing partial differential equations are converted into system of non-linear ordinary differential equations by mean of similarity transformations.These ordinary differential equations are integrated numerically using shooting method.The effects of pertinent parameters on velocity and concentration profiles are presented graphically and discussed.We found that in the presence of Fe_3O_4-kerosene and CoFe_2O_4-kerosene,velocity profiles increase for large values of α and β whereas there is a decrement in concentration profiles with increasing values of if and K_s.Furthermore,the comparison between non-magnetic(A1_2O_3) and magnetic Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles is given in tabular form.

文摘In this paper,we present a method for generating Bézier surfaces from the boundary information based on a general second order functional and a third order functional associated with the triharmonic equation.By solving simple linear equations,the internal control points of the resulting Bézier surface can be obtained as linear combinations of the given boundary control points.This is a generalization of previous works on Plateau-Bezier problem,harmonic,biharmonic and quasi-harmonic Bézier surfaces.Some representative examples show the effectiveness of the presented method.

文摘This paper theoretically studies the recombination-dominated nonequilibrium reacting flow inside the stagnation point bound- ary layer (SPBL) and the heat transfer characteristics under rarefied conditions. A general model is intuitively proposed to de- scribe the energy transfer and conversion along the stagnation streamline towards a slightly blunted nose with non-catalytic wall surface. It is found that the atoms recombination effects inside the SPBL could be equivalent to a modification on the de- gree of dissociation in the external flow. As a result, a recombination nonequilibrium criterion Dar, that is a specific DamktSh- let number, is introduced to characterize the nonequilibrium degree of the reacting flow in the SPBL, and then, based on the general model and Dar, a bridging function indicating the nonequilibrium chemical effects on the SPBL heat transfer is estab- lished. By using the explicitly analytical bridging function, the flow and heat transfer mechanisms, including the real gas flow similarity law and the nonequilibrium flow regimes classification, are discussed. In addition, the direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method has also been employed to systematically validate the analytical results.
文摘The aim of the present paper is to study the numerical solutions of the steady MHD two dimensional stagnation point flow of an incompressible nano fluid towards a stretching cylinder.The effects of radiation and convective boundary condition are also taken into account.The model used for the nanofluid incorporates the effects of Brownian motion and thermophoresis.The resulting nonlinear momentum,energy and nano particle equations are simplifed using similarity transformations.Numerical solutions have been obtained for the velocity,temperature and nanoparticle fraction profles.The influence of physical parameters on the velocity,temperature,nanoparticle fraction,rates of heat transfer and nanoparticle fraction are shown graphically.
