This paper is motivated by the fact that, in a multi-user CDMA system. the conventional receiver suffers severe performance degradation as the relative powers of the interfering signals become large(i.e. 'near-far problem'). Furthermore, in many cases, the optimum receiver which alleviates the near-far problem, is too complex to be of practical use. And by viewing this optimum multi-user detector problem in CDMA channel as an optimum nonlinear classification decision problem. we apply the Probabilistic Neural Network algorithm, which has the capacity of arbitrary nonlinear transformation, adaptive learning and tracking to implement this classification decision optimally and adaptively The performance of the Proposes neural detector is evaluated via computer simulations in terms of probability of detection and it is compared with those of the existing neural and conventional detector schemes in a multi-user environment.展开更多
The joint channel and power allocation in the downlink transmission of multi-user multi-carrier code division multiple access(MC-CDMA) systems are investigated and the throughput maximization problem is considered a...The joint channel and power allocation in the downlink transmission of multi-user multi-carrier code division multiple access(MC-CDMA) systems are investigated and the throughput maximization problem is considered as a mixed integer optimization problem. For simplicity of analysis, the problem is divided into two less complex sub-problems: power allocation and channel allocation, which can be solved by a suboptimal adaptive power allocation (APA)algorithm and an optimal adaptive channel allocation (ACA) algorithm, respectively. By combining APA and ACA algorithms, an adaptive channel and power allocation scheme is proposed. The numerical results show that the proposed APA algorithm is more suitable for MC-CDMA systems than the conventional equal power allocation algorithm, and that the proposed channel and power allocation scheme can significantly improve the system throughout performance.展开更多

The challenge is always to optimize the compromise between performance and complexity. Compared with the solution commonly used today, the rake detector, successive interference cancellation (SIC) detector has better performance despite its higher complexity. Our innovative solution proposes joining detector and channel turbo decoder to get a significant gain in terms of performance. Furthermore, when detection and decoding are implemented in a single function, complexity does not increase much.展开更多

This paper presents a novel stochastic blind adaptive multiuser detector without requiring training sequences, which needs only two system parameters: the signature sequence of the desired user i, s i and the variance of the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN),σ 2. Simulation results show that by reasonably choosing time varying step size, the proposed detector can not only improve the convergence rate, but also reduce the limiting NSE (Normalized Squared Error) values, so it can effectively increase the performance of the system.展开更多
