Nowadays, mild hypothermia is widely used in the fields of post-cardiac arrest resuscitation, stroke, cerebral hemorrhage,large-scale cerebral infarction, and craniocerebral injury. In this paper,a locally mixed sub-low temperature device is designed, and the cold and hot water mixing experiment is used to simulate the human blood transfer process. To set a foundation for the optimization of the heat transfer system, the static characteristics are analyzed by building the mathematic model and setting up the experimental station. In addition, the affection of several key structure parameters is researched.Through experimental and simulation studies,it can be concluded that, firstly, the mathematical model proved to be effective.Secondly, the results of simulation experiments show that 14.52℃ refrigeration can reduce the original temperature of 33.42℃ to 32.02℃,and the temperature of refrigerated blood rises to 18.64℃,and the average error is about 0.3℃.Thirdly,as the thermal conductivity of the vascular sheath increases, the efficiency of the heat exchange system also increases significantly. Finally,as the input cold blood flow rate increases, the mass increases and the temperature of the mixed blood temperature decreases. It provides a research basis for subsequent research on local fixed-point sub-low temperature control technology. 展开更多

AIM: TO observe the therapeutic effects of new traditional Chinese medicine (TClVl) therapy on coagulation disorder and accompanying intractable jaundice in HBV-related liver cirrhosis patients. METHODS: Using stratified random sampling according to fibrinogen (Fib) levels, 145 liver cirrhosis patients due to hepatitis B complicated by coagulation disorder were treated. Of them, 70 in research group were treated with TCM by "nourishing yin, cooling blood and invigorating blood circulation" and Western medicine, 75 in control group were treated with conventional Western medicine. The indexes of liver function, coagulation function and bleeding events were observed and compared. RESULTS: The prothrombin time (PT) was shorter and the fibrinogen (Fib) level was higher in the research group than in the control group (Fib = 1.6-2.0 g/L, 1.1-1.5 g/L, and ≤ 1.0 g/L). The total bilirubin (TBIL) level was significantly lower in the research group than in the control group, except for the subgroup of FIB ≤ 1.0 g/L. CONCLUSION: TCM therapy can improve coagulation fuction and decrease TBIL. 展开更多

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Dihuang Zhixue Capsule (地黄止血胶囊, DZC, a Chinese preparation for cooling blood and dispelling toxic substances) in the treatment of childhood refractory idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (RITP), with cyclosporin A (CsA) used as the control. Methods: Forty-one children of RITP were randomized into the treated group and the control group. The 21 patients in the treated group were orally given 2 to 3 DZC capsules each time, thrice a day and the 20 in the control group were given 3 mg/kg CsA per day, with 3 months as one therapeutic course. The therapeutic efficacy, platelet count and adverse reaction in the two groups were compared at the end of the course. Results: (1) In the treated group, 1 (4.8%) patient was evaluated as cured, 3 (14.3%) as markedly effective, 5 (23.8%) as effective, 5 (23.8%) as improved, 7 (33.3%) as ineffective, with the total effective rate being 66.7%; while in the control group, the corresponding numbers were 0. 2 (10.0%), 2 (10.0%), 3 (15.0%), 13 (65.0%) and 35.0%, respectively, showing statistical significance in difference between the total effective rates of the two groups ( Х^2=4.11, P=0.0426). (2) As compared with the baseline, the platelet count increased in both groups after 2 months' treatment (P〈0.05). After 3 months' treatment, the platelet count was higher in the treated group than in the control group (P〈0.05). (3) The improvement of hemorrhage in the treated group after 8 weeks' treatment was better than that in the control group (P〈0.05). (4) No apparent adverse reaction was observed in the treated group, while in the control group, hirsutism was shown in 15 cases; gingival hyperplasia in 10; digestive reaction in 5, liver function impairment in 5, hypertension in 2 and renal impairment in 2. Conclusion: The therapeutic efficacy of DZC is better than that of CsA, and DZC shows good compliance but brings no obvious adverse reaction. 展开更多

Objective: To investigate the effects of Chinese herbal monomer shikonin which has the function of cooling blood and detoxification on abnormally activated T lymphocyte and its related signal pathways and to elucidate the role of shikonin in the pathological state of psoriasis and its mechanism of treating psoriasis. Materials and Methods: Jurkat E6?1 T lymphocytes were activated with phorbol ester and ionomycin. The shikonin concentration of 0.5–2 μg/mL was applied to the cells, and the proliferation of T lymphocytes was detected by Cell Counting Kit?8 assay. Flow cytometry was used to measure CD69 expression on the cell membrane and intracellular free calcium ion concentration([Ca^(2+)]i); enzyme?linked immunosorbent assay was used to detect the levels of interleukin(IL)?2, interferon?γ(IFN?γ), and(TNF?α) released by activated T lymphocytes; quantitative polymerase chain reaction and Western blot were used to observe the expression of nuclear transcription factor m RNA and protein, respectively. Results: Different concentrations of shikonin could significantly inhibit cell proliferation, CD69 expression, and secretion of Th1 cytokines. In addition, shikonin could effectively reduce the [Ca^(2+)]i and protein kinase C phosphorylation proteins. Besides that, shikonin could significantly reduce the nuclear transcription factor nuclear factor of activated T lymphocytes mRNA expression, downregulate c?Jun mRNA and protein expression, and inhibit NF?κB protein expression. All the above indicators show a certain dose–effect relationship. Conclusions: Shikonin can exert immune regulation by inhibiting the function of overactivated T lymphocytes. Hence, this study provides experimental basis for the mechanism and application prospect of shikonin in the treatment of psoriasis. 展开更多

Objective: To study the curative effect of Chinese medicines in treating severe cholestatic hepatitis (SCH).Methods: Three hundred and fifty patients of SCH with total bilirubin level 171 μmol/L were treated with Chinese medicines. Those with Blood Stasis Syndrome were treated with the recipe mainly consisting of Radix Paeoniae Rubra, and those accompanied by blood Heat, fluid retention in the epigastric region, dampness disseminated in Sanjiao ( ) or Yang deficiency of both Spleen and Kidney were treated with recipe modified according to the symptoms and signs. Results: The treatment was markedly effective in 288 cases and effective in 26 cases, the total effective rate being 89.7%.Conclusion: It is difficult to treat severe cholestatic hepatitis, es pecially the chronic cholestatic good effect of Chinese herbal medicine in eliminating jaundice. 展开更多
