Both N2O reduction and CO2 emissions were inhibited by the addition of 100 mL L-1 of C2H2. Acetylene disappeared evidently from the soil slumes during the incubation. Consequently results obtained from the traditional C2H2 blocking technique for determination of denitrification rate, especially in a long-time incubation, should be explained with care because of its side effect existing in the incubation environments without change of headspace gas. To reduce the possible side effect on the processes other than denitrification, it is suggested that headspace gas should be replaced several times during a long-time incubation.展开更多

The retrograde vaporization mechanism observed in this type of gas condensate reservoir differs significantly from that observed in sand gas condensate reservoirs. However, studies on improving the recovery of fractured gas condensate reservoirs are limited;thus, the impact of retrograde vaporization on condensate within fractured metamorphic buried-hill reservoirs remains unclear. To address this gap, a series of gas injection experiments are conducted in pressure-volume-temperature(PVT) cells and long-cores to investigate the retrograde vaporization effect of condensate using different gas injection media in fractured gas condensate reservoirs. We analyze the variation in condensate volume, gas-to-oil ratio, and condensate recovery during gas injection and examine the influence of various gas injection media(CO_(2), N_(2), and dry gas) under different reservoir properties and varying gas injection times. The results demonstrate that the exchange of components between injected gas and condensate significantly influences condensate retrograde vaporization in the formation. Compared with dry gas injection and N_(2) injection,CO_(2) injection exhibits a superior retrograde vaporization effect. At a CO_(2) injection volume of 1 PV, the percentage shrinkage volume of condensate is 13.82%. Additionally, at the maximum retrograde condensation pressure, CO_(2) injection can increase the recovery of condensate by 22.4%. However, the condensate recovery is notably lower in fractured gas condensate reservoirs than in homogeneous reservoirs, owing to the creation of dominant gas channeling by fractures, which leads to decreased condensate recovery. Regarding gas injection timing, the effect of gas injection at reservoir pressure on improving condensate recovery is superior to that of gas injection at the maximum retrograde condensation pressure. This research provides valuable guidance for designing gas injection development plans and dynamic tracking adjustments for fractured gas condensate reservoirs.展开更多

From the economic benefits viewpoint, asymmetric membranes are required for industrial manufacture and applications. This paper aims to review the latest development of various kinds of asymmetric membranes for natural gas purification, mainly focusing on CO_(2) removal from CH_(4), including H_(2)S and N_(2) separation from CH_(4) as well. According to material types, polymeric, inorganic, mixed-matrix and carbon molecular sieve membranes are introduced. The associated fabrication approaches and transport properties are discussed for each kinds of asymmetric membranes. Towards the practical implementation, an emphasis is placed on hollow fiber asymmetric structure for these polymeric, mixed-matrix and carbon molecular sieve membranes.展开更多

Accordingly, nine schemes of CO_(2) injection well (IW) and CH_(4) production well (PW) are established, aiming to explore the behavior of free gases after CO_(2) is injected into the depleted Wufeng–Longmaxi shale. The results indicate the free CH4 or CO2 content in the shale fractures/matrix is invariably heterogeneous. The CO_(2) involvement facilitates the ratio of free CH_(4)/CO_(2) in the matrix to that in the fractures declines and tends to be stable with time. Different combinations of IW–PWs induce a difference in the ratio of the free CH4 to the free CO_(2), in the ratio of the free CH_(4)/CO_(2) in the matrix to that in the fractures, in the content of the recovered free CH_(4), and in the content of the trapped free CO_(2). Basically, when the IW locates at the bottom Wufeng–Longmaxi shale, a farther IW–PWs distance allows more CO2 in the free phase to be trapped;furthermore, no matter where the IW is, a shorter IW–PWs distance benefits by getting more CH_(4) in the free phase recovered from the depleted Wufeng–Longmaxi shale. Hopefully, this work is helpful in gaining knowledge about the shale-based CO_(2) injection technique.展开更多

文摘"Carbon peaking and carbon neutrality"is an essential national strategy, and the geological storage and utilization of CO_(2)is a hot issue today. However, due to the scarcity of pure CO_(2)gas sources in China and the high cost of CO_(2)capture,CO_(2)-rich industrial waste gas(CO_(2)-rich IWG)is gradually emerging into the public's gaze.CO_(2)has good adsorption properties on shale surfaces, but acidic gases can react with shale,so the mechanism of the CO_(2)-rich IWG-water-shale reaction and the change in reservoir properties will determine the stability of geological storage. Therefore, based on the mineral composition of the Longmaxi Formation shale, this study constructs a thermodynamic equilibrium model of water-rock reactions and simulates the regularity of reactions between CO_(2)-rich IWG and shale minerals. The results indicate that CO_(2)consumed 12%after reaction, and impurity gases in the CO_(2)-rich IWG can be dissolved entirely, thus demonstrating the feasibility of treating IWG through water-rock reactions.Since IWG inhibits the dissolution of CO_(2),the optimal composition of CO_(2)-rich IWG is 95%CO_(2)and 5%IWG when CO_(2)geological storage is the main goal.In contrast, when the main goal is the geological storage of total CO_(2)-rich IWG or impurity gas,the optimal CO_(2)-rich IWG composition is 50%CO_(2)and 50%IWG.In the CO_(2)-rich IWG-water-shale reaction, temperature has less influence on the water-rock reaction, while pressure is the most important parameter.SO2 has the greatest impact on water-rock reaction in gas.For minerals, clay minerals such as illite and montmorillonite had a significant effect on water-rock reaction. The overall reaction is dominated by precipitation and the volume of the rock skeleton has increased by 0.74 cm3,resulting in a decrease in shale porosity, which enhances the stability of CO_(2)geological storage to some extent.During the reaction between CO_(2)-rich IWG-water-shale at simulated temperatures and pressures, precipitation is the main reaction, and shale porosity decreases. However,as the reservoir water content increases, the reaction will first dissolve and then precipitate before dissolving again. When the water content is less than 0.0005 kg or greater than 0.4 kg,it will lead to an increase in reservoir porosity, which ultimately reduces the long-term geological storage stability of CO_(2)-rich IWG.
文摘The gas field in the Bohai Bay Basin is a fractured metamorphic buried-hill reservoir with dual-media characteristics. This research provides valuable guidance for designing gas injection development plans and dynamic tracking adjustments for fractured gas condensate reservoirs.

文摘Asphaltene deposition is a significant problem during gas injection processes,as it can block the porous medium, the wellbore, and the involved facilities, significantly impacting reservoir productivity and ultimate oil recovery.Only a few studies have investigated the numerical modeling of this potential effect in porous media. This study focuses on asphaltene deposition due to natural gas and CO_(2) injection.Predictions of the effect of gas injection on asphaltene deposition behavior have been made using a 3D numerical simulation model. The results indicate that the injection of natural gas exacerbates asphaltene deposition, leading to a significant reduction in permeability near the injection well and throughout the reservoir. This reduction in permeability strongly affects the ability of gas toflow through the reservoir, resulting in an improvement of the displacement front. The displacement effi-ciency of the injection gas process increases by up to 1.40%when gas is injected at 5500 psi, compared to the scenario where the asphaltene model is not considered.CO_(2) injection leads to a miscible process with crude oil, extracting light and intermediate components, which intensifies asphaltene precipitation and increases the viscosity of the remaining crude oil, ultimately reducing the recovery rate.
文摘The dissolution and diffusion of CO_(2)in oil and water and its displacement mechanism were investigated by laboratory experiment and numerical simulation for Block 9 in the Tahe oilfield,a sandstone oil reservoir with strong bottom-water drive in Tarim Basin,Northwest China.Such parameters were analyzed as solubility ratio of CO_(2)in oil,gas and water, interfacial tension,in-situ oil viscosity distribution, remaining oil saturation distribution, and oil compositions. The results show that CO_(2)flooding could control water coning and increase oil production. In the early stage of the injection process,CO_(2)expanded vertically due to gravity differentiation, and extended laterally under the action of strong bottom water in the intermediate and late stages. The CO_(2)got enriched and extended at the oil-water interface, forming a high interfacial tension zone, which inhibited the coning of bottom water to some extent.A miscible region with low interfacial tension formed at the gas injection front, which reduced the in-situ oil viscosity by about 50%.The numerical simulation results show that enhanced oil recovery(EOR)is estimated at 5.72%and the oil exchange ratio of CO_(2)is 0.17 t/t.

文摘CO_(2)emission mitigation is one of the most critical research frontiers. As a promising option of carbon capture, utilization and storage(CCUS),CO_(2)storage with enhanced gas recovery(CSEGR)can reduce CO_(2)emission by sequestrating it into gas reservoirs and simultaneously enhance natural gas production.Over the past decades, the displacement behaviour of CO_(2)—natural gas has been extensively studied and demonstrated to play a key role on both CO_(2)geologic storage and gas recovery performance. This work thoroughly and critically reviews the experimental and numerical simulation studies of CO_(2)displacing natural gas, along with both CSEGR research and demonstration projects at various scales. The physical property difference between CO_(2)and natural gas, especially density and viscosity, lays the foundation of CSEGR.Previous experiments on displacement behaviour and dispersion characteristics of CO_(2)/natural gas revealed the fundamental mixing characteristics in porous media, which is one key factor of gas recovery efficiency and warrants further study.Preliminary numerical simulations demonstrated that it is technically and economically feasible to apply CSEGR in depleted gas reservoirs.However,CO_(2)preferential flow pathways are easy to form(due to reservoir heterogeneity)and thus adversely compromise CSEGR performance. This preferential flow can be slowed down by connate or injected water.Additionally, the optimization of CO_(2)injection strategies is essential for improving gas recovery and CO_(2)storage,which needs further study. The successful K12—B pilot project provides insightful field-scale knowledge and experience, which paves a good foundation for commercial application.More experiments, simulations, research and demonstration projects are needed to facilitate the maturation of the CSEGR technology.

文摘CO_(2) can be used as an alternative injectant to exploit geothermal energy from depleted high-temperature gas reservoirs due to its high mobility and unique thermal properties. However, there has been a lack of systematic analysis on the heat mining mechanism and performance of CO_(2),as well as the problems that may occur during geothermal energy exploitation at specific gas reservoir conditions. In this paper,a base numerical simulation model of a typical depleted high-temperature gas reservoir was established to simulate the geothermal energy exploitation processes via recycling CO_(2) and water, with a view to investigate whether and/or at which conditions CO_(2) is more suitable than water for geothermal energy exploitation. The problems that may occur during the CO_(2)-based geothermal energy exploitation were also analyzed along with proposed feasible solutions. The results indicate that, for a depleted low-permeability gas reservoir with dimensions of 1000 m×500 m×50 m and temperature of 150℃ using a single injection-production well group for 40 years of operation, the heat mining rate of CO_(2) can be up to 3.8 MW at a circulation flow rate of 18 kg s^(-1)due to its high mobility along with the flow path in the gas reservoir, while the heat mining rate of water is only about 2 MW due to limitations on the injectivity and mobility. The reservoir physical property and injection-production scheme have some effects on the heat mining rate, but CO_(2)always has better performance than water at most reservoir and operation conditions, even under a high water saturation. The main problems for CO_(2) circulation are wellbore corrosion and salt precipitation that can occur when the reservoir has high water saturation and high salinity,in which serious salt precipitation can reduce formation permeability and result in a decline of CO_(2) heat mining rate (e.g.up to 24%reduction).It is proposed to apply a low-salinity water slug before CO_(2)injection to reduce the damage caused by salt precipitation. For high-permeability gas reservoirs with high water saturation and high salinity, the superiority of CO_(2) as a heat transmission fluid becomes obscure and water injection is recommended.
文摘A novel system was proposed for the capture and separation of CO 2 from flue gas. In this method, a resin was employed to regenerate the amine capturing CO 2 from flue gas at room temperature. The feasibility for the resin to regenerate amines such as MEA, MAE, TEA, and ammonia was demonstrated. It was also discovered that the resin could be regenerated by hot water.

文摘Natural gas, as a very important source of energy and chemical feedstock, can be used in place of coal to lower net carbon dioxide emissions.Membrane separation technology is an attractive alternative for natural gas purification where the impurities represented by acid gases(CO_(2) and H_(2)S) as well as inert gases(N_(2)) must be removed to meet the transportation and usage specifications. Towards the practical implementation, an emphasis is placed on hollow fiber asymmetric structure for these polymeric, mixed-matrix and carbon molecular sieve membranes.

文摘In this work, a novel thermal–hydraulic–mechanical (THM) coupling model is developed, where the real geological parameters of the reservoir properties are embedded. Hopefully, this work is helpful in gaining knowledge about the shale-based CO_(2) injection technique.

文摘Integrated gasification fuel cells(IGFCs)integrating high-temperature solid oxide fuel cell technology with CO_(2)capture processes represents highly-efficient power systems with negligible CO_(2)emissions.Flame burning with pure oxygen is an ideal method for fuel cell exhaust gas treatment, and this report describes experimental and numerical studies regarding an oxy-combustor for treating the exhaust gas of a 10 kW IGFC system anode. The applied simulation method was verified based on experiments, and the key performance indices of the combustor were studied under various conditions. It was determined that 315 K was the ideal condensation temperature to obtain flame stability.Under these pure oxygen flame burning conditions,CO was almost completely converted, and the dry mole fraction of CO_(2)after burning was C 0.958 when there was up to 5%excess O_(2).Overall,5%excess O_(2)was recommended to maximize CO_(2)capture and promote other environmental considerations.Additionally, the optimal tangential fuel jet angle to control the liner temperature was approximately 25°.The total fuel utilization had to be high enough to maintain the oxygen flame temperature of the anode exhaust gas below 1800 K to ensure that the system was environmentally friendly. The results presented herein have great value for designing IGFCs coupled with CO_(2)capture systems.

文摘CO_(2)mineralization as a promising CO_(2)mitigation strategy can employ industrial alkaline solid wastes to achieve net emission reduction of atmospheric CO_(2).The red mud is a strong alkalinity waste residue produced from the aluminum industry by the Bayer process which has the potential for the industrial CO_(2)large scale treatment. However, limited by complex components of red mud and harsh operating conditions,it is challenging to directly mineralize CO_(2)using red mud to recover carbon and sodium resources and to produce mineralized products simultaneously with high economic value efficiently.Herein,we propose a novel electrochemical CO_(2)mineralization strategy for red mud treatment driven by hydrogen-cycled membrane electrolysis, realizing mineralization of CO_(2)efficiently and recovery of carbon and sodium resources with economic value. The system utilizes H_(2)as the redox-active proton carrier to drive the cathode and anode to generate OH^(-) and H^(+) at low voltage, respectively. The H^(+) plays as a neutralizer for the alkalinity of red mud and the OH^(-) is used to mineralize CO_(2)into generate highpurity NaHCO_(3)product.We verify that the system can effectively recover carbon and sodium resources in red mud treatment process, which shows that the average electrolysis efficiency is 95.3%with highpurity(99.4%)NaHCO_(3)product obtained. The low electrolysis voltage of 0.453 V is achieved at10 mA·cm^(-2) in this system indicates a potential low energy consumption industrial process.Further,we successfully demonstrate that this process has the ability of direct efficient mineralization of flue gas CO_(2)(15%volume)without extra capturing, being a novel potential strategy for carbon neutralization.
文摘Mg-Al layered double hydroxide intercalated with CO_(3)^(2-)(CO_(3)·Mg-Al LDH) is effective for treating HCl exhaust gas.HCl reacts with CO_(3)^(2-) in CO_(3)·Mg-Al LDH, resulting in the formation of Cl·Mg-Al LDH.We propose that CO_(2) can be used for the desorption of Cl^(-)from Cl·Mg-Al LDH to regenerate CO_(3)·Mg-Al LDH.Herein,we studied the desorption of a from CI-Mg-Al LDH by adding water to Cl·Mg-Al LDH and blowing CO_(2) into it.We also analyzed the effects of temperature and water addition speed on the desorption of CI^(-)from Cl·Mg-Al LDH.Our results show that the added water adhered to CI·Mg-Al LDH and that CO_(2) in the gaseous phase was dissolved in this adhered water, thus generating CO_(3)^(2-).Therefore,anion exchange occurred between CO_(3)^(2-) and Cl^(-)in the Cl·Mg-Al LDH,thus desorbing Cl^(-).

文摘High-temperature pyrolysis technology can effectively solve the problem of municipal solid waste pollution. However, the pyrolysis gas contains a large amount of CO_(2),which would adversely affect the subsequent utilization. To address this problem,a novel method of co-precipitation modification with Ca,Mg and Zr metals was proposed to improve the CO_(2)capture performance.X-ray diffraction(XRD)patterns and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy analysis showed that the two inert supports MgO and CaZrO_(3)were uniformly distributed in the modified calcium-based sorbents. In addition, the XRD results indicated that CaZrO_(3)was produced by the reaction of ZrO_(2)and CaO at high temperatures. The effects of doping ratios, adsorption temperature, calcination temperature,CO_(2)concentration and calcination atmosphere on the adsorption capacity and cycle stability of the modified calcium-based sorbent were studied. The modified calcium-based sorbent achieved the best CO_(2)capture performance when the doping ratio was 10:1:1 with carbonation at 700℃ under 20%CO_(2)/80%N_(2)atmosphere and calcination at 900℃ under100%N_(2)atmosphere.After ten cycles, the average carbonation conversion rate of Ca-10 sorbent was 72%.Finally,the modified calcium-based sorbents successfully reduced the CO_(2)concentration of the pyrolysis gas from 37%to 5%.

文摘Undesirable gas channeling always occurs along the high-permeability layers in heterogeneous oil reservoirs during water-alternating-CO_(2)(WAG)flooding,and conventional polymer gels used for blocking the“channeling”paths usually suffer from either low injectivity or poor gelation control.Herein,we for the first time developed an in-situ high-pressure CO_(2)-triggered gel system based on a smart surfactant,N-erucamidopropyl-N,N-dimethylamine(UC22AMPM),which was introduced into the aqueous slugs to control gas channeling inWAG processes. The water-like,low-viscosity UC22AMPM brine solution can be thickened by high-pressure CO_(2) owing to the formation of wormlike micelles(WLMs),as well as their growth and shear-induced structure buildup under shear flow. The thickening power can be further potentiated by the generation of denser WLMs resulting from either surfactant concentration augmentation or a certain range of heating, and can be impaired via pressurization above the critical pressure of CO_(2) because of its soaring solvent power.Core flooding tests using heterogeneous cores demonstrated that gas channeling was alleviated by plugging of high-capacity channels due to the in-situ gelation of UC22AMPM slugs upon their reaction with the pre-or post-injected CO_(2) slugs under shear flow, thereupon driving chase fluids into unrecovered low-permeability areas and producing an 8.0% higher oil recovery factor than the conventional WAG mode. This smart surfactant enabled high injectivity and satisfactory gelation control, attributable to low initial viscosity and the combined properties of one component and CO_(2)-triggered gelation, respectively. This work could provide a guide towards designing gels for reducing CO_(2) spillover and reinforcing the CO_(2) sequestration effect during CO_(2) enhanced oil recovery processes.
