An E//B neutral particle analyzer(NPA)has been designed and is under development at Sichuan University and Southwestern Institute of Physics.The main purpose of the E//B NPA is to measure the distribution function of fast ions in the HL-2A/3 tokamak.The E//B NPA contains three main units,i.e.the stripping unit,the analyzing unit and the detection unit.A gas stripping chamber was adopted as the stripping unit.The results of the simulations and beam tests for the stripping chamber are presented.Parallel electric and magnetic fields provided by a NdFeB permanent magnet and two parallel electric plates were designed and constructed for the analyzing unit.The calibration of the magnetic and electric fields was performed using a 50 kV electron cyclotron resonance ion source(ECRIS)platform.The detection unit consists of 32lutetium-yttrium oxyorthosilicate(LYSO)detector modules arranged in two rows.The response functions ofα,hydrogen ions(H^(+),H_(2)^(+)and H_(3)^(+))andγfor a detector module were measured with^(241)Am,^(137)Cs and^(152)Eu sources together with the 50 kV ECRIS platform.The overall results indicate that the designed E//B NPA device is capable of measuring the intensity of neutral hydrogen and deuteron atoms with energy higher than 20 keV. 展开更多

AIM:To invastigate intra-and interobserver reliability of interferometry,tear meniscus height(TMH)measurement and meibography(MBG)of an ocular surface analyzer,LacryDiag(Quantel Medical,France).METHODS:Five consecutive measurements and subsequent analysis of interferometry,TMH,and MBG were recorded by two examiners using the LacryDiag.To assess intra-and interobserver reliability,we used Cohen’s kappa for categorical variables(interferometry),or intraclass correlation coefficient for continuous variables(TMH,MBG).RESULTS:Thirty eyes of 30 examinees were included.For both observers,there was excellent intraobserver reliability for MBG(0.955 and 0.970 for observer 1 and 2,respectively).Intraobserver reliability for observer 1 was substantial for interferometry(0.799),and excellent for TMH(0.863).Reliability for observer 2 was moderate for interferometry(0.535)and fair to good for TMH(0.431).Interobserver reliability was poor for interferometry(0.074)and fair to good for TMH(0.680)and MBG(0.414).CONCLUSION:LacryDiag ocular surface analyzer in our study proves to be a reliable noninvasive tool for the evaluation of TMH and MBG.As for interferometry,poor interobserver reliability,fair to good intraobserver reliability for observer 1,and moderate for observer 2,leave room for improvement. 展开更多

To verify the effectiveness of digital optical 3D image analyzer EvaSKIN in the objective and quantitative evaluation of wrinkles.A total of 115 subjects were recruited,the facial images of the subjects were collected by digital optical 3D image analyzer and manual camera,the changes of crow’s feet with age were analyzed.Pictures obtained by manual photography can be directly used for observation and preliminary grading of wrinkles.However,the requirements for evaluators are high,and the results are prone to errors,which will affect the accuracy of the evaluation.Therefore,skilled raters are needed.Compared with the manual photography method,the digital optical 3D image analyzer EvaSKIN can realize three-dimensional extraction of wrinkles,and obtain the change trend of crow’s feet with age.20~30 years old,wrinkles begin to appear slowly;wrinkles will increase rapidly at the age of 30~50;The length of 50~60 year old wrinkles is basically fixed,the wrinkles develop longitudewise,gradually widen and deepen,and the area,depth and volume increase is obvious,and the skin aging condition is intensified.the digital optical 3D image analyzer EvaSKIN realizes the 3D extraction of wrinkles,quantifies the circumference,area,average depth,maximum depth and volume of wrinkles,realizes the objective and quantitative evaluation of wrinkle state,is more accurate in the measurement of wrinkles,and provides a new instrument and method for the evaluation of wrinkles.it is a perfect and supplement to the traditional evaluation methods,and to a certain extent,it helps the research and development and evaluation institutions of cosmetics to obtain more abundant and three-dimensional data support. 展开更多

Objective:To investigate the hook effect in the detection of beta2-microglobulin(β2-MG)with different reagents as well as on two fully automated biochemical analyzers and their solutions.Methods:Using immunoturbidimetric assay forβ2-MG as the research object,β2-MG levels were detected by different concentration gradients ofβ2-microglobulin samples in Liedemann,Mack,and Myriad reagents of three manufacturers on two automatic biochemical analyzers,and the difference of the hook effect was comparatively analyzed.Results:Leadman reagent showed the hook effect on the Beckman AU5800 automated biochemistry analyzer,while both Maccura and Mindray reagents did not show the hook effect.After the experiments,we found the limit value of the pre-zone check of Leadman reagent,and changed the parameters of the instrument,when the limit value of the pre-zone check was reached,the instrument automatically diluted the specimen five times and then detected it again.After changing the parameters of the instrument,the correlation between the three methods of detecting samples of different concentrations was r>0.99.Conclusion:Before selecting the application of immunoturbidimetric reagents,we have to carry out the risk assessment of the hook effect and selectively set the parameters of the pre-zone check based on the highest concentration that may occur in the clinic;for the items that may have the hook effect,we have to selectively set the parameters of the pre-zone check when the ratio of average reaction rate and the immediate reaction rate is at the limit value,and the phenomenon of antigen excess may occur,the instrument will carry out automatic dilution before detection,so as to avoid the issuance of erroneous results of high-value samples due to the hook effect. 展开更多

We fabricated wearable perspiration analyzing sites for actively monitoring physiological status during exercises without any batteries or other power supply.The device mainly consists of ZnO nanowire(NW)arrays and flexible polydimethylsiloxane substrate.Sweat on the skin can flow into the flow channels of the device through capillary action and flow along the channels to ZnO NWs.The sweat flowing on the NWs(with lactate oxidase modification)can output a DC electrical signal,and the outputting voltage is dependent on the lactate concentration in the sweat as the biosensing signal.ZnO NWs generate electric double layer(EDL)in sweat,which causes a potential difference between the upper and lower ends(hydrovoltaic effect).The product of the enzymatic reaction can adjust the EDL and influence the output.This device can be integrated with wireless transmitter and may have potential application in constructing sports big data.This work promotes the development of next generation of biosensors and expands the scope of self-powered physiological monitoring system. 展开更多

Metallic flaky sendust particles are prepared for use as fillers in electromagnetic attenuation composites. We report the interface reflection model to divide the broad bandwidth into electromagnetic loss and quarter-wavelength (λ/4) cancelation. Combining with the face reflection calculation, we identify the electromagnetic loss originated from skin effect, which is used to explain over half of the absorbed energy in high frequency band. Most impor- tantly, the unique electromagnetic loss cannot generate the reflection loss (RL) peak. Using the phase relation of face reflection, we show evidence that the λ/4 cancelation is vital to generate the RL peak. The calculated energy loss agrees well with the experimental data and lays the foundation for further research. 展开更多

As the existing formal specifications of MAS cannot describe its dynamic architecture, a formal approach using n-calculus is presented, which is suited for the describing and analyzing of concurrent MAS with dynamic topology, n-calculus describes the belief-desireintention (BDI) model that represents agent's mental states and provides many useful facilities to analyze MAS model such as deadlock, behavior equivalence, and model checking. To illustrate the favorable representation capability of n-calculus, an example of dynamic multi-agent systems in e-commerce is provided. Phonon modes in spherical Si quantum dots (QDs) with up to 7.9 nm in diameter are calculated by using the projection operators of the group theory into valence force field model. The phonons of dot modes in each of five irreducible representations (symmetries) are classified by using a dual space analysis method. It is found that the bulk-like modes with localization radius much smaller than the dot's radius have clearly pronounced bulk specific-κdefinite bulk band (one in six modes). In Si dots of all sizes, each specific bulk-like dot mode has specific symmetry.TO dot modes and bulk-like X-derived TA and LA dot modes red-shift in frequency with decreasing dot size. There is almost not LO/TO mixing for bulk-like modes. As for the surface-like modes localized at the periphery of the dot,their eigenmodes have not a dominant bulk specific-κ point parentage or a dominant BZ parentage around some special point. They are a superposition of many bulk bands with κ from all over the bulk BZ. They have much significant mode mixing than the bulk-like phonons. The classification of dot modes based on the symmetry of group theory will bring advantageous to the discussion of Ramam spectrum, electron-phonon interaction and other phonon-assisted effects in QDs. 展开更多

A network analyzer analyzes the device or network response and measures for the operator to keep an eye on the network’s or object’s performance in an RF circuit. The purpose of the following research includes analyzing the capabilities of NetFlow analyzer to measure various parts, including filters, mixers, frequency sensitive networks, transistors, and other RF-based instruments. NetFlow Analyzer is a network traffic analyzer that measures the network parameters of electrical networks. Although there are other types of network parameter sets including Y, Z, & H-parameters, these instruments are typically employed to measure S-parameters since transmission & reflection of electrical networks are simple to calculate at high frequencies. These analyzers are widely employed to distinguish between two-port networks, including filters and amplifiers. By allowing the user to view the actual data that is sent over a network, packet by packet, a network analyzer informs you of what is happening there. Also, this research will contain the design model of NetFlow Analyzer that Measurements involving transmission and reflection use. Gain, insertion loss, and transmission coefficient are measured in transmission measurements, whereas return loss, reflection coefficient, impedance, and other variables are measured in reflection measurements. These analyzers’ operational frequencies vary from 1 Hz to 1.5 THz. These analyzers can also be used to examine stability in measurements of open loops, audio components, and ultrasonics. 展开更多

BACKGROUND: ^31p magnetic resonance spectroscopy (^31p MRS) can be used to non-injuredly and dynamicly detect vadous metabolites including phosphorus in organis and reflect changes of phospholipid metabolism and energy metabolism in tissue and pH value in cells. OBJECTIVE: To observe changes of pH value, phospholipid metabolism and energy metabolism of various cerebral tumors and normal brain tissue with sip MRS. DESIGN: Semi-quantitative contrast observation PARTICIPANTS : A total of 44 patients with cerebral tumor diagnosed with surgery operation were selected from the Department of Magnetic Resonance, Central South Hospital, Wuhan University from September 2004 to June 2006. All the subjects had complete sip MRS data before steroid and operation. Among them, 16 patients had glioma of grade Ⅱ-Ⅲ, 12 spongioblastoma and 16 meningioma. The mean age was (45±6) years. Another 36 subjects without focus on cerebral MRI were regarded as normal group, including 19 males and 18 females, and the mean age was (41±4) years. Included subjects were consent. METHODS: Eclipse1.5T MRS (Philips Company) was used to collect wave spectrum; jMRUI(1.3) was used to analyze expenmental data and calculate pH value in voxel and ratios of phosphocreatine (PCr)/inorganic phosphate (Pi), PCr/phosphodiesterase (PDE) and phosphomonoesterase (PME)/β-adenosine triphosphate (β-ATP) of vadous metabolites. ^31p MRS results were compared with t test between tumor patients and normal subjects. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Changes of phospholipid metabolism (PME./PDE), energy metabolism (PCr/ATP) and pH value of various cerebral tumors and normal brain tissues. RESULTS : A total of 44 cases with cerebral tumor and 36 normal subjects were involved in the final analysis. pH value and semi-quantitative measurements of normal brain tissues and various cerebral tumors: ① pH value at top occipital region and temple occipital region of normal brain tissue was 7.04 ±0.02; PCr/β-ATP was 1.51 ±0.03; PCr/Pi was 2.85±0.20; PDE/β-ATP was 2.70±0.40; PME/β-ATP was 1.01 ±0.03. Giioma of grade Ⅱ - Ⅲ : Tumor tissue was alkalized. The pH value was 7.09±0.01, which was higher than that in normal group (t=-1.823, P 〈 0.05); PCr/β-ATP, PME/β-ATP and PCr/ Pi were 1.50±0.04, 1.04±0.07 and 2.49±0.21, respectively, which was close to that in normal group (P 〉 0.05); PDE/β-ATP was 1.73±0.20, which was lower than that in normal group (t=-2.168, P 〈 0.05). ③ Spongioblastoma: Tumor tissue was alkalized. The pH value was 7.12±0.02, which was higher than that in normal group (t=-2.170, P 〈 0.05); PCr/β-ATP and PCr/Pi were 1.48±0.05 and 2.39±0.23, respectively, which was lower than that in normal group, but the difference was not significant (P 〉 0.05); PDE/β-ATP was 1.61±0.25, which was lower than that in normal group (t=-3.582, P 〈 0.01); PME/β-ATP was 1.64±0.05, which was higher than that in normal group (t=-3.930, P 〈 0.01). ④ Meningioma: Tumor tissue was alkalized. The pH value was 7.16±0.03, which was higher than that in normal group (t=-2.978, P 〈 0.01); PCr/β-ATP, PCr/Pi and PDE/β-ATP were 0.46±0.04, 1.08±0.16 and 0.82±0.10, respectively, which was lower than that in normal group (t=-3.132, 3.983, 3.985, P 〉 0.01); PME/β-ATP was 2.05±0.03, which was higher than that in normal group (t=-3.007, P〈 0.01). CONCLUSION: ^31p MRS can provide informations about pH value of cerebral tumor, phospholipid metabolism and energy metabolism. Published research is minimal on vibration characteristics of hermetically sealed electromagnetic relay (EMR) ex- posed to mechanical environment. The vibration characteristics of armature system, link contact system with electromagnetic system will cause EMR malfunction. The nonlinear dynamics model of armature systems was studied by considering electro- magnetic attraction force and opposite mechanical force in this paper. Angular displacements of armature under different sinu- soidal vibration conditions are solved in order to obtain the failure mode result from armature system. Vibration tests showed the presented analyzing method is suitable for EMR. A critical function of flow cytometry is to count the concentration of blood cells,which helps in the diagnosis of certain diseases.However,the bulky nature of commercial flow cytometers makes such tests only available in hospitals or laboratories,hindering the spread of point-of-care testing(POCT),especially in underdeveloped areas.Here,we propose a smart Palm-size Optofluidic Hematology Analyzer based on a miniature fluorescence microscope and a microfluidic platform to lighten the device to improve its portability.This gadget has a dimension of 35×30×80 mm and a mass of 39 g,less than 5%of the weight of commercially available flow cytometers.Additionally,automatic leukocyte concentration detection has been realized through the integration of image processing and leukocyte counting algorithms.We compared the leukocyte concentration measurement between our approach and a hemocytometer using the Passing-Bablok analysis and achieved a correlation coefficient of 0.979.Through Bland-Altman analysis,we obtained the relationship between their differences and mean measurement values and established 95%limits of agreement,ranging from−0.93×10^(3)to 0.94×10^(3)cells/μL.We anticipate that this device can be used widely for monitoring and treating diseases such as HIV and tumors beyond hospitals. 展开更多

How to determine accurately the association states of solutes in aqueous systems is of fundamental importance in a variety of chemical, physical, and biological processes, We apply four widely used criteria to analyze the dynamic association processes of solutes, e.g., amphiphilic molecules, and to find the inappropriate selections of representative sites on solutes in these criteria may bring about appreciable influence on the estimation of dynamic association behaviors such as unrealistic packing radii and even misleading packing structures. It would be better to select dynamically representative sites on solute molecules based on the characteristic of solute associations. Our detailed discussions give a guide on how to determine an appropriate criterion to accurately analyze the association behaviors of solute molecules in aqueous solutions. 展开更多

A Comparison between Neutron Activation Analysis and X-Ray Fluorescence Methods in Analyzing the Granite Samples

This study focused on the performance of where elements analysing techniques were used to detect the elements in granite stones. These techniques are NAA (neutron activation analysis) and XRF (X-ray fluorescence). They were applied to detect the elements in samples which had been chosen from different areas of Pulua Penang in Malaysia collected by geophysics group which helped to describe and identify the elements found in the granite stone that were used in the study procedures to control the analytical results. The integration of both methods has enabled the researcher to determine 40 elements in the samples. The numbers of elements detected by XRF analysis method are 12 elements (Ar, K, Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn); while, the elements detected by NAA method have three folds of elements with XRF analysis method were 35 elements (Na, AI, Si, K, Ca, Sc,Ti, Mn, Fe, Co, Ga, Ce, As, Br, Rb, Zr, Sb, I, Cs, Ba, La, Nd, Sm, Eu,Tb, Dy, Yb, Lu, Hf, Ta, W, Au, Pa and Np). Seven common elements were detected in both techniques: K, Sc, Ti, V, Mn, Fe and Co. Si has a higher concentration in NAA technique which is 331.8 ppm. Sc has a lower concentration in XRF technique which is 0.25 ppm. Nd has a lower concentration in NAA technique which is 3.09 - 10-5 ppm. Finally, it is found that the NAA is better to detect the elements than XRF. 展开更多

Firstly, this method tracked the video object based on motion history image, and obtained the co- ordinate-based track sequence and orientation-based track sequence of the video object. Then the pro- posed hidden markov model (HMM) based algorithm was used to analyze the behavior of video object with the track sequence as input. Experimental results on traffic object show that this method can achieve the statistics of a mass of traffic objects' behavior efficiently, can acquire the reasonable velocity behavior curve of traffic object, and can recognize traffic object' s various behaviors accurately.
