Methods: Patients with a mild level of AD were included in this study, divided into the therapy group (TG;N = 30, aged 68 ± 3.2 years) and the control group (CG;N=30, aged 65 ± 2.6 years). The therapy group was enrolled in an exercise-training program (walking, resistance and balance exercises) combined with musical therapy for 10 weeks (three sessions of 60 minutes per week). The Control group was instructed to follow their daily rhythm of life (e.g., rest, reading) under the same conditions. The intervention program was enrolled under the supervision of;one psychologist;a neurologist;two music therapists, and two physiotherapists, all belonging to the same hospital unit. After 10 weeks of participation in the combined program, cognitive parameters were improved in the therapy group measured with the Behavior Pathology in Alzheimer Disease (BEHAVE-AD), (p < 0.05) for activity disturbance, diurnal rhythm disturbances, anxieties and phobias, affective disturbance. The percentage range of improvements is 1.07% to 2.96%. Results: Our results demonstrate that physical exercise combined with music therapy improves cognitive function in patients with Alzheimer’s disease. Conclusions: Physical exercise and music therapy are beneficial combined treatments for improving life quality in older patients. This approach may be useful to help patients with a mild level of Alzheimer’s disease improve their behavioral and psychological parameters.展开更多

Their association has not been investigated with the use of biomarkers. This study examines whether, among cognitively normal (NL) individuals, those who are less physically active and show lower MeDi adherence have brain biomarker abnormalities consistent with AD. Methods: Forty-five NL individuals (age 54 ± 11, 71% women) with complete leisure time physical activity (LTA), dietary information, and cross-sectional 3D T1-weigthed MRI, 11C-Pittsburgh Compound B (PiB) and 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scans were examined. Voxel-wise multivariate partial least square (PLS) regression was used to examine the effects of LTA, MeDi and their interaction on brain biomarkers. Age, gender, ethnicity, education, caloric intake, BMI, family history of AD, Apolipoprotein E (APOE) genotype, presence of hypertension and insulin resistance were examined as confounds. Subjects were dichotomized into more and less physically active (LTA+ vs. LTA-;n = 21 vs. 24), and into higher vs. lower MeDi adherence groups (n = 18 vs. 27) using published scoring methods. Spatial patterns of brain biomarkers that represented the optimal association between the images and the groups were generated for all modalities using voxel-wise multivariate Partial Least Squares (PLS) regression. Results: Groups were comparable for clinical and neuropsychological measures. Independent effects of LTA and MeDi factors were observed in AD-vulnerable brain regions for all modalities (p β load and lower glucose metabolism) were observed in LTA- compared to LTA+ subjects, and in MeDi- as compared to MeDi+ subjects. A gradient effect was observed for all modalities so that LTA+/MeDi+ subjects had the highest and LTA+/MeDi+ subjects had the lowest AD-burden (p < 0.001), although the LTA × MeDi interaction was significant only for FDG measures (p < 0.03). Adjusting for covariates did not attenuate these relationships. Conclusion: Lower physical activity and MeDi adherence were associated with increased brain AD-burden among NL individuals, in-dicating that lifestyle factors may modulate AD risk. Studies with larger samples and longitudinal evaluations are needed to determine the predictive power of the observed associations.展开更多

But physics has no unified basic theory in the modern sense. Classical mechanics, relativity and quantum mechanics have their own basic concepts, categories and principles, so none of them can be regarded as true basic theories of physics. Cosmic Continuum Theory holds that the continuity and discreteness of the universe are fundamental issues related to the unification of physics. Because the contradiction between quantum non-locality and local reality is the fundamental obstacle to the unification of physics, while locality and non-locality correspond to the continuity and discreteness of physical reality respectively. The cosmic continuum theory introduces mathematical continuum and axiomatic ideas to reconstruct the basic theory of physics, and by the correspondence of existence and its dimensions to achieve the unification of the essence of physical reality, by introducing the cosmic continuum hypothesis to achieve the unification of the continuity and discreteness of physical reality, by introducing axiomatic methods to achieve formal unification of the foundations on physics. From the perspective of Cosmic Continuum, classical mechanics, relativity and quantum mechanics are no longer the basic theories of physics, but three branch theories of physics that are respectively applicable to macroscopic, cosmoscopic and microcosmic systems.展开更多

The transmission and attenuation of the solar energy in the ocean are considered. A simple diagnostic equation for the cloud fractions k proposed on the basis of the humidities at the surface and the mid-troposphere. The parameterized formulae of both entrainment and Ekman pumping are improved. In the numerical integration, the treatment on damping the inertial oscillations is emphasized. The initialization and the objective analysis of the data which are necessary for the operational prediction will be presented in another paper. Results of SST prediction and some numerical experiments are given here. The model is computationally stable and successful in modelling the behaviors of the drift current and the mixed layer physics, and the AMD (absolute mean deviations) ≤1. 2℃ , RC (correlation coefficients ) ≥85% for 3-day forecasting.展开更多

Under inverse square law force, the Schwarzschild metric, needs to be modified, to include Newton’s Shell Theorem (NST). By including NST for r, both Schwarzschild singularity at r = 2GM/c2 and at r → 0 singularities are removed from the metric. Near R → 0, the question of maximal density is considered based on Schwarzschild’s modified metric, and compared to the quantum limit of maximal mass density put by Planck’s quantum-based universal units. It is asserted, that General relativity, when combined with Planck’s universal units, inevitably leads to quantization of gravity.展开更多

Despite the importance of regular physical activity practice, there are only few studies that verified the influence of the levels of physical activity on fatigue in patients with PD. Objective: The aim of this study was to compare perception of fatigue between individuals with PD and neurologically healthy individuals (control group), considering the physical activity levels;and to verify the relation between physical activity levels and fatigue dimensions for individuals with PD and control group. Methods: Eighty individuals (40 patients with PD and 40 control individuals) participated in this study. Physical activity levels were evaluated through Modified Baecke Questionnaire for Older Adults. Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory (MFI) was used in order to evaluate fatigue dimensions (general, physical and mental fatigue, reduced motivation and activity). MANOVA two-way and Pearson linear correlation test were performed to analyze the data. Results: Patients with PD presented higher levels of fatigue, in all dimensions evaluated by MFI, comparing to control individuals. There was no association between physical activity levels and perception of fatigue for patients with PD and control individuals. Conclusion: Patients with PD showed increased perception of fatigue when compared to control individuals, due to PD characteristics. In addition, the perception of fatigue’s symptom was not influenced and had no relation by the level of physical activity.展开更多

The resu...The physical aging behavior of atactic polystyrene (aPS) films achieved under different drawing conditions has been studied by optical birefringence and modulate differential scanning: calorimeter (m.d.s.c.). The results show that on annealing at specific temperature below glass transition temperatue (T-g), the enthalpy relaxation (Delta H) and T-g decrease with increasing of birefringence (Delta n). On the other baud, the effect of molecular draw ratio (MDR) is confusing: Delta H and T-g decrease with increasing of MDR in the early stage of aging, but the MDR's effect become unobvious with the development of aging. It may be concluded that the ordered domain generated by the drawing below or above glass transition temperature will affect the development of physical aging behavior. The viewpoint of cohesional entanglement is used to account for the above observations.展开更多

The choice of variables is determined by preliminary information available to the observer and dependent on his knowledge, experience and intuition. The finite value of the amount of information available to the researcher leads to the inevitable aberration of the observed object. This causes the existence of an unremovable and intractable processing by any statistical methods, a comparative (respectively, relative) uncertainty of the model. The goal is to present a theoretical justification for the existence of this uncertainty and proposes a procedure for its calculation. The practical application of the informational method for choosing the preferred model for the Einstein formula and for calculating the speed of sound is demonstrated.展开更多

The theory is mathematical in the strictest possible sense. The mathematics involved is strictly digital—not quantitative in the manner that what is usually thought of as mathematics is quantitative. It is anticipated at this time that the exclusively digital nature of rational human intelligence exhibits four flavors of digitality, apparently no more, and that each flavor will require a lengthy study in its own right. 文摘Objective:The objective of this study was to analyze the current status of barriers to exercise participation(EP)among patients on maintenance hemodialysis(MHD).Materials and Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted on 277 outpatients undergoing MHD in 2 tertiary first-class hospitals in Beijing from February 2023 to June 2023 who were selected using convenience sampling method. The data of patients on MHD were collected using the general information questionnaire,Physical Activity Rating Scale,Exercise Benefits/Barriers Scale(EBBS),and Exercise Self-Efficacy Scale(ESES).The relationship between EP and barriers to EP was analyzed through univariate and multivariate linear regression models. Results:Patients on MHD had a low exercise volume score of 13.71±0.68 points and a medium EBBS score of 63.36±0.40 points.Multivariate logistic analysis showed that exercise volume was significantly related to the following four aspects, including low monthly household income per capita(odds ratio[OR]=86.741,95%confidence interval[CI][1.164-6.465],P=0.042),primary underlying disease of diabetic nephropathy(OR=45.993,95%CI[1.353-1.564],P=0.033),the belief that“fatigue in lower extremities hinders exercise”(OR=4.697,95%CI[1.127-19.585],P=0.034),and the belief that“physical exercise bringing optimistic and positive life attitude”(OR=0.074,95%CI[0.007-0.830],P=0.035).Conclusions:Since patients on MHD had low physical exercise volume, the health-care provider should pay more attention on the controllable factors that affect the EP of patients on MHD.Therefore, feasible and effective intervention measures can be formulated based on ESES in clinical nursing.
文摘-The model's physical equation is used to parameterize some subgrid-scale processes and physical processes in the present numerical model. The model is computationally stable and successful in modelling the behaviors of the drift current and the mixed layer physics, and the AMD (absolute mean deviations) ≤1. 2℃ , RC (correlation coefficients ) ≥85% for 3-day forecasting.

文摘Background:Physical activity has been hypothesized to play a protective role in neurodegenerative diseases. However, effect estimates previously derived from observational studies were prone to confounding or reverse causation. Methods:We performed a two-sample Mendelian randomization(MR)analysis to explore the causal association of accelerometer-measured physical activity with 3 common neurodegenerative diseases:Alzheimer’s disease(AD),Parkinson’s disease(PD),and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS).We selected genetic instrumental variants reaching genome-wide significance(p<5×10^(-8))from 2 largest meta-analyses of about 91,100 UK Biobank participants.Summary statistics for AD,PD,and ALS were retrieved from the up-to-date studies in European ancestry led by the international consortia. The random-effect,inverse-variance weighted MR was employed as the primary method, while MR pleiotropy residual sum and outlier(MR-PRESSO),weighted median, and MR-Egger were implemented as sensitivity tests. All statistical analyses were performed using the R programming language(Version 3.6.1;R Foundation for Statistical Computing,Vienna,Austria). Results:Primary MR analysis and replication analysis utilized 5 and 8 instrumental variables, which explained 0.2%and 0.4%variance in physical activity, respectively. In each set,one variant at 17q21 was significantly associated with PD,and MR sensitivity analyses indicated them it as an outlier and source of heterogeneity and pleiotropy.Primary results with the removal of outlier variants suggested odds ratios(ORs)of neurodegenerative diseases per unit increase in objectively measured physical activity were 1.52 for AD(95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.88-2.63,p=0.13)and 3.35 for PD(95%CI:1.32-8.48,p=0.01),while inconsistent results were shown in the replication set for AD(OR=1.06,95%CI:1.01-1.12,p=0.02)and PD(OR=0.99,95%CI:0.88-0.12,p=0.97).Similarly,the beneficial effect of physical activity on ALS(OR=0.51,95%CI:0.29-0.91,p=0.02)was not confirmed in the replication analysis(OR=0.96,95%CI:0.91-1.02,p=0.22).Conclusion:Genetically predicted physical activity was not robustly associated with risk of neurodegenerative disorders.Triangulating evidence across other studies is necessary in order to elucidate whether enhancing physical activity is an effective approach in preventing the onset of AD,PD,or ALS.
文摘The singularity at distance r → 0 at the center of a spherically symmetric non-rotating, uncharged mass of radius R, is considered here. It is asserted, that General relativity, when combined with Planck’s universal units, inevitably leads to quantization of gravity.
文摘To the Editor:We read with great interest the recent paper by Baran and colleagues,[1]published in the journal of Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Diseases International. The authors presented nails abnormalities in a 65-year-old woman with cryptogenic cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma and described them as Terry’s nails.Whether they were Terry’s nails remains controversial,at least far away from
文摘Background: Recent researches involving fatigue and Parkinson’s disease (PD) sought to verify its incidence and the impacts of fatigue on quality life of patients with PD. In addition, the perception of fatigue’s symptom was not influenced and had no relation by the level of physical activity.

文摘The physical aging behavior of atactic polystyrene (aPS) films achieved under different drawing conditions has been studied by optical birefringence and modulate differential scanning: calorimeter (m.d.s.c.). The viewpoint of cohesional entanglement is used to account for the above observations.
文摘This article deals with the problem of calculating the comparative uncertainty of the main variable in the model of the studied physical phenomenon, which depends on a qualitative and quantitative set of variables. The practical application of the informational method for choosing the preferred model for the Einstein formula and for calculating the speed of sound is demonstrated.

文摘The design of this paper is to present the first installment of a complete and final theory of rational human intelligence.
