Despite the well-established benefits of regular physical activity(PA)on health,a large proportion of the world population does not achieve the recommended level of regular PA.Although affective experiences toward PA ...Despite the well-established benefits of regular physical activity(PA)on health,a large proportion of the world population does not achieve the recommended level of regular PA.Although affective experiences toward PA may play a key role to foster a sustained engagement in PA,they have been largely overlooked and crudely measured in the existing studies.To address this shortcoming,the Affective Exercise Experiences(AFFEXX)questionnaire has been developed to measure such experiences.Specifically,this questionnaire was developped to assess the following three domains:antecedent appraisals(e.g.,liking vs.disliking exercise in groups),core affective exercise experiences(i.e.,pleasure vs.displeasure,energy vs.tiredness,and calmness vs.tension),and exercise motivation(i.e.,attraction vs.antipathy toward exercise).The current study aimed to validate a Chinese version of the AFFEXX questionnaire(AFFEXX-C).In study 1,722 Chinese college students provided data for analyses of factorial,convergent,discriminant,criterion validity,and test-retest reliability of the AFFEXX-C.In addition,1,300 college students were recruited in study 2 to further validate its structural model.Results showed that the AFFEXX-C demonstrates a goodfit and reliability.Additionally,results further supported the hypothesized model based on previous research:antecedent appraisals predicted core affective exercise experiences,which in turn predicted attraction-antipathy toward physical exercise.The AFFEXX-C was found to be a reliable and valid measure of affective exercise experiences in a population of Chinese college students.展开更多

William Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice(1600)is controversial as a result of its negative depiction of the Jewish figure Shylock.In translating this literary work into Chinese,the translator is quite possibly in...William Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice(1600)is controversial as a result of its negative depiction of the Jewish figure Shylock.In translating this literary work into Chinese,the translator is quite possibly involved in reconstructing the image of Jews,as Shylock being the representative in The Merchant of Venice,consciously,or unconsciously.In this paper,the translation of The Merchant of Venice by Shiqiu Liang(2001)is selected to find out how the image of Jews is conveyed to the Chinese readers.Due to the translator’s translation principle of being loyal to the original text,the content in the original text is transferred to the target readers without manipulation.However,the translation work was conducted with a particular social background which is believed to have influenced the translator’s interpretation of the original text.Accompanied the selected translation is a paratext,in which the translator expresses his own opinion on both the playwright and the Jewish and non-Jewish figures in the play;with this paratext,the target readers understand the figures in the play in a different way.Therefore,a different image of Jews is reconstructed in the translation,which is mainly analyzed at the level of larger textual units reflecting hierarchical relations from the perspective of imagology.展开更多

In daily communication, we always use allusions consciously or unconsciously. But the Chinese translation of English Allusions is a hard task for translators for their hidden and cultural background meaning is not as simple as their form. Therefore, this paper explores the origins and the corresponding translation of English allusions. CCP translation, on one hand, makes us have access to explore the linguistic charming and the cultural value of classical Chinese poems; on the other hand, it provides an opportunity to transmit Chinese classical culture into western culture. While translatability of CCP translation, coupled with its untranslatability is considered a contentious topic in translation circle. Admittedly, in the process of CCP translation, some problems or barriers turn out to be our stumbling stone. But generally speaking, most of the poetry are translatable and untranslatability can be transformed into translatability with certain strategies. This thesis have compared the similarities and differences between Chinese and western poems to analyze the reasons why CCP can or cannot be translated and lays much emphasis on untranslatability as well as the compensation of untranslatability. Lastly, foreignization and domestication are recommended as two strategies in CCP translation when untranslatability occurs.展开更多

文摘Being widely used in global trade,the translation of international trade terms is necessary.Major procedures in this article are as following:(1)collecting 750 international trade terms and their Chinese translations from dictionaries,journals and official websites related to international trade terms;(2)using Tmxmall to align the international trade terms and their Chinese translation to build a parallel corpus;(3)selecting 120 out of the 750 international trade terms through random sampling;(4)classifying the international trade terms into four types through POS-tagging in CLAWS5;(5)basing on the functional equivalence and summarizing the main translation methods of international trade terms.The result shows literal translation,free translation and combination of literal and free translation employed in the Chinese translation of international trade terms.
文摘English and Chinese belong to different language families, so they have difference on their own characteristics, habits expression, syntactic structure and many other aspects. Nida' s dynamic equivalence theory thinks that translation is not Simple literal equivalence, but it is corresponding to two languages meanings and styles that are not rigidly adhered to forms. Therefore, we also need consider the cultural context in addition to understanding features of two languages in the process of translation, This paper makes a preliminary summary research on the parts of speech translation of English and Chinese translation to help translators better to deal with the parts of speech translation in the English and Chinese translation under the guidance of dynamic equivalence.
文摘In this paper,with Collection of Chinese Works by Matteo Ricci written by Zhu Weizheng and A summary Interpretation of Chinese literature of Matteo Ricci in Ming and Qing Dynasties written by Tang Kaijian as major research texts and historical basis,as well as intercultural communication as the major research method,the aesthetic adaptation of native music of traditional Chinese music,etiquette,sacrifice and religious customs under the description of Matteo Ricci is discussed and interpreted from the perspective of the spread of musical culture of the Maritime Silk Road,four stages of field investigation are planned,and related musical activities and local musical phenomena appearing in his literature have an on-site visit.In this way,the vital position and historical significance of Matteo Ricci’s cultural missionary activities in the music communication on the Maritime Silk Road are obtained.
文摘The translation activities of Robert Morrison,the first protestant missionary to China,exert a profound impact on the following missionaries of their missionary efforts and Chinese Studies.Morrison’s translations of Chinese poetry,mainly cited as examples of certain cultural context,are scattered in various publications,and are not yet systematically studied.This paper aims to integrate and analyze Morrison’s translations of Chinese poetry,summarize their linguistic features,thereby providing insight into the studies on translation of the early missionary sinologues in China.

文摘Classical Chinese poems(CCP) is regarded as the inheritance and treasure of Chinese culture. CCP translation, on one hand, makes us have access to explore the linguistic charming and the cultural value of classical Chinese poems; on the other hand, it provides an opportunity to transmit Chinese classical culture into western culture. While translatability of CCP translation, coupled with its untranslatability is considered a contentious topic in translation circle. Admittedly, in the process of CCP translation, some problems or barriers turn out to be our stumbling stone. But generally speaking, most of the poetry are translatable and untranslatability can be transformed into translatability with certain strategies. This thesis have compared the similarities and differences between Chinese and western poems to analyze the reasons why CCP can or cannot be translated and lays much emphasis on untranslatability as well as the compensation of untranslatability. Lastly, foreignization and domestication are recommended as two strategies in CCP translation when untranslatability occurs.

In this context, moreand more attention has been paid to the translation of film works, and practitioners in this field also want to bring more smooth anddeep viewing experience to other audiences. Starting from the difference between Chinese translation and English translation, thispaper explores the specific elements of cultural differences and the reasons for this phenomenon, hoping to contribute to a compre-hensive and in-depth exchange of world culture.
