[Objective] This study was aimed to formulate the quality inspection of diarrhea arresting and dysentery treating dietary traditional Chinese herbal medicines for livestock.[Methods] Physiochemical identification and ...[Objective] This study was aimed to formulate the quality inspection of diarrhea arresting and dysentery treating dietary traditional Chinese herbal medicines for livestock.[Methods] Physiochemical identification and contrast test of UV spectrophotometer qualitative detection were adopted.[Results] The difference in the peak value of maximum adsorption peak detected by diluted water method was greater than 1 nm; the maximum adsorption peak values obtained by the 0.9％ hydrochloric acid and 60％ ethanol methods had a difference of less than 1 nm,and the secondary adsorption peak values also had a difference of less than 1 nm.[Conclusion] The 0.9％ hydrochloric acid and 60％ ethanol methods were selected as the quality inspection standards for the preparation of diarrhea arresting and dysentery treating dietary traditional Chinese herbal medicines for livestock.展开更多

Children suffering from M. pneumoniae tend to progress quickly and develop severe pneumonia with a poor prognosis.（1） Effective management of M. pneumoniae infections include macrolides, tetracyclines or fluoroquinolones, however, antibiotic resistance may lead to unsatisfied clinical outcome. Chinese medicine （CM） is widely used in China and some Asian countries, which have good efficacy in the treatment of M. pneumoniae, especially for severe M. Pneumonia infection.（2） It has obvious advantages in terms of fever reduction and appetite improvement. Here we report a case of a child diagnosed with severe pneumonia who received antibiotics for 20 days but with suboptimal result, however, he experienced an optimal response to CM.展开更多

Several decades of CM treatment results have shown that CM treatment could be helpful in improving patients＇ physical rehabilitation, relieving symptoms and strengthening immunity. CM also could aid in the decline of rates of recurrence and metastasis, prolong the survival time, and especially, have significant effects on relieving symptoms such as relieving fatigue, improving syndromes caused by conventional therapies （surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and biological treatment）, and indescribable discomforts caused by the unknown reason. It has been found in several studies that conventional medical treatment combined with CM could significantly improve QOL, and reduce treatment-related and disease-related symptoms.
