Given that these studies were conducted in European Caucasian populations, it is not clear whether the results are relevant for populations with different ethnicities. The aim of this study was to examine these associations in a southern Chinese population. Methods: Eleven single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), rs12701937, rs16892766, rs7014346, rs6983267, rs719725, rs10795668, rs3802842, rs4444235, rs9929218, rs10411210, and rs961253, were genotyped in 229 CRC patients and 267 controls using the MassArray SNP genotyping system. Results: Evidence of an association with CRC was found for four of the 11 loci. The strongest associations were with rs4444235 and rs961253, with significant odds ratios close to those reported in previous GWAS. Among these four loci, rs719725 and rs4444235 were significantly associated with female gender, rs3802842, rs961253, and rs4444235 with early disease onset, and rs3802842 with later disease onset. However, no associations with CRC risk were detected for six other loci (rs9929218, rs10411210, rs12701937, rs7014346, rs6983267, and rs10795668), and one SNP, rs16892766, was not polymorphic in any of the study participants. Conclusion: The rs4444235 and rs961253 loci are strongly associated with the risk of CRC in southern Chinese.展开更多

Facing the increasing trend of cancer incidence and mortality, China issued and implemented "three-early(early prevention, early diagnosis and early treatment)" national cancer prevention plan. As the main body and dependence of social governance, non-governmental organizations(NGOs) take over the role of government in the field of cancer prevention and treatment. American Cancer Society(ACS) made a research on cancer NGOs and civil society in cancer control and found that cancer NGOs in developing countries mobilize civil society to work together and advocate governments in their countries to develop policies to address the growing cancer burden. Union for International Cancer Control(UICC), Cancer Council Australia(CCA), and Malaysian cancer NGOs are the representatives of cancer NGOs in promoting cancer control. Selecting Chinese Anti-Cancer Association(CACA) as an example in China, this article is to investigate how NGOs undertake systematic cancer prevention work in China. By conducting real case study, we found that, as a NGO, CACA plays a significant role in intensifying the leading role of government in cancer control, optimizing cancer outcomes, decreasing cancer incidence and mortality rates and improving public health.展开更多

Immunoglobulin G(IgG) N-glycans are associated with risk factors for NAFLD, such as obesity and diabetes. A cross-sectional study involving 500 Han Chinese adults recruited from a community in Beijing was carried out to explore the association between IgG N-glycans and NAFLD. IgG N-glycosylation was significantly associated with NAFLD, with the disease showing a negative correlation with galactosylation(GP14, GP14n, and G2n), positive correlation with fucosylation(FBG2n/G2n), and positive correlation with bisecting N-acetylglucosamine(Glc NAc) [FBG2n/FG2n and FBG2n/(FG2n+FBG2n)], after controlling age, gender, and prevalence of obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. In other words, the present study showed a possible association between NAFLD and the loss of galactose and elevations of fucose and bisecting GlcNAc. Aberrant IgG glycosylation might therefore be a potential biomarker for the primary or secondary prevention of NAFLD.展开更多

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the association between the polymorphism of beta1 adrenergic receptor (β1-AR) gene G1165C (Arg389Gly), an important candidate gene for various diseases of cardiovascular system, and essential hypertension in Mongolian population. DESIGN : A cross-sectional study SETTINGS: Department of Neurology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical College; Wulate Houqi Red Cross Society. PARTICIPANTS: The survey was carried out from February 2003 to March 2005. Totally 239 Mongolian residents, whose blood relations of 3 generations were all Mongolians, were selected from Wulate Houqi, Inner Mongolia, and they were all informed with the survey and detected items. Based on the diagnostic standard of hypertension set by WHO in 1999, the subjects were divided into two groups according to the level blood pressure: ① Normal blood pressure group (n=117): systolic blood pressure (SBP) 〈 140 mm Hg (1 mm Hg =0.133 kPa), diastolic blood pressure (DBP) 〈 90 mm Hg, and those having histories of cerebrovascular disease, heart disease, diseases of liver, kidney and tiroides, and diabetes mellitus were excluded. ② Essential hypertension group (n=122): including 51 patients with simple high SBP. All the enrolled subjects had no blood relationship with each other, and had no history of miscegenation. METHODS : The body height, body mass, waist circumference and blood lipids were measured routinely, and their habits of smoking and drinking were also investigated. Penpheral venous blood (5 mL) was drawn, the genome DNA was extracted, and the polymorphisms of the β1-AR Gl165C (Gly389Arg) genotype were detected with the Sequenom system. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) experiment and SNP detection were performed in Huada Gene Laboratory of Bejing, then the univariate analysis of variance was applied in the sample comparison among groups, and the chi-square test was used to compare the genotypes and allele frequencies. The odd ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CO were calculated. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The distributions of β1-AR Gl165C (Gly389Arg) genotypes and alleles were observed. RESULTS: A11 the 239 subjects were involved in the analysis of results, and no one missed, ①Comparison of β1-AR G1165C (Gly389Arg) genotypes and allele distnbutions: In Mongolian population, the frequencies of CC and GG+GC genotypes at β1-AR G1165C (Gly389Arg) site in the essential hypertension group (72%, 28%) were not significantly different from those in the normal blood pressure group (67%, 33%) (xz=0.841, P=-0.359; OR 0.773, 95%Cl: 0.445-1.342); The frequencies of C and G alleles also had no significant differences between the essential hypertension group (85%, 15%) and the normal blood pressure group (82%, 18%) (x^2=1.136, P=-0.287; OR: 0.769, 95%Cl: 0.747-1.248). ②The frequencies of CC and GG+GC genotypes at β1-AR G1165C (Gly389Arg) site had no significant differences between the patients with simple high SBP (71%, 29%) and the normal blood pressure group (x^2=0.250, P=-0.617; OR: 0.833, 95%C/: 0.408-1.703); The frequencies of C and G alleles were not significantly different between the patients with simple high SBP (86%, 14%) and the normal blood pressure group (x^2=0.670, P=-0.413; OR 0.766, 95%Cl: 0.404-1.453). CONCLUSION: In Mongolian population, the distributions of the genotypes and alleles of β1-AR Gl165C (Gly389Arg) have no obvious differences between the subjects with normal blood pressure and the patients with essential hypertension (including simple SBP increase), which suggests that G1165C (Glu389Asp) site of β1-AR gene may be not a genetic mark of essential hypertension and simple high SBP in Mongolian population.展开更多

文摘Background:The constitution theory of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)states that body constitution and disease are associated;therefore, the identification of body constitution can provide reference for disease prevention and treatment.A series of clinical studies evaluating the association between TCM constitution and metabolic syndrome(MetS)have been conducted in recent years. The aim of this systematic review is to summarize and evaluate the clinical evidence of the relationship between constitution and MetS.Methods:The PubMed,Embase,China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Chongqing VIP,and Wanfang Data electronic databases were searched from April 2009 to July 2020.The search terms included“metabolic syndrome,”“constitution,”and“Chinese medicine.”Observational studies evaluating the relationship between body constitution of TCM and MetS were included. The primary outcome included the distribution of constitutional types in the MetS population, and odds ratio(OR)or relative risk(RR)between constitution and MetS.Effect size was expressed as proportion or OR with 95%confidence interval(CI).Methodological quality of included studies was evaluated by the NewcastleeOttawa Scale(NOS)or the American Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality(AHRQ)criteria. Results:Three caseecontrol and 26 cross-sectional studies involving 30435 cases were included.Phlegm-dampness,qi-deficiency,and damp-heat were the main constitution types in patients with MetS,accounting for 29%(22%e39%),18%(13%e24%),and 12%(9%e17%)of the population, respectively;the risk of MetS in people with phlegm-dampness and qi-deficiency constitution was 1.74[1.27,2.38]and 1.29[1.01,1.65]times higher than that in those with other constitutions. There were sex-and age-related differences in the distribution of TCM constitution in patients with MetS.Conclusion:Phlegm-dampness and qi-deficiency were associated with the occurrence of MetS.Welldesigned cohort and caseecontrol studies are needed to provide evidence for the use of TCM to prevent and treat MetS.
文摘Cervicogenic headache(CEH)has been recognized as a unique category of headache that can be difficult to diagnose and treat. In China,CEH patients are managed by many different specialties, and the treatment plans remain controversial. Therefore, there is a great need for comprehensive evidence-based Chinese experts’recommendations for the management of CEH.The Chinese Association for the Study of Pain asked an expert panel to develop recommendations for a series of questions that are essential for daily clinical management of patients with CEH.A group of multidisciplinary Chinese Association for the Study of Pain experts identified the clinically relevant topics in CEH.A systematic review of the literature was performed, and evidence supporting the benefits and harms for the management of CEH was summarized.Twenty-four recommendations were finally developed through expert consensus voting for evidence quality and recommendation strength. We hope this guideline provides direction for clinicians and patients making treatment decisions for the management of CEH.
文摘Cancer has become the first leading cause of death in the world, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. By conducting real case study, we found that, as a NGO, CACA plays a significant role in intensifying the leading role of government in cancer control, optimizing cancer outcomes, decreasing cancer incidence and mortality rates and improving public health.

文摘Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) is a major public health issue worldwide. Aberrant IgG glycosylation might therefore be a potential biomarker for the primary or secondary prevention of NAFLD.

文摘BACKGROUND: The prevalences of hypertension, cerebrovascular diseases, etc. are higher in Mongolian population because of the influence of various factors including genetics, geography, diet, etc. Therefore, it is helpful to develop researches on the genetics of various diseases including hypertension in Mongolian population. CONCLUSION: In Mongolian population, the distributions of the genotypes and alleles of β1-AR Gl165C (Gly389Arg) have no obvious differences between the subjects with normal blood pressure and the patients with essential hypertension (including simple SBP increase), which suggests that G1165C (Glu389Asp) site of β1-AR gene may be not a genetic mark of essential hypertension and simple high SBP in Mongolian population.
