Objective: To better understand nutritional and health status of students from different nationalities, we analyzed the nutritional status and athletic ability of Uygur, Hui, Mongolian and Han nationality among medica...Objective: To better understand nutritional and health status of students from different nationalities, we analyzed the nutritional status and athletic ability of Uygur, Hui, Mongolian and Han nationality among medical students in Bazhou Health School in Korla, Xinjiang, China. Methods: Using stratified cluster sampling, 1644 students from 47 classes in the 2014 and 2015 grades were selected as the study objects from Bazhou Health School, and 1644 students were measured for anthropometry and exercise capacity. Anthropometric measurements were carried out by qualified surveyors in accordance with GB/T 5703-1999 standard. The exercise capacity is based on the test requirements of the 'Student Physical Fitness Health Standard' (revised in 2014) issued by the Ministry of Education and the State General Administration of Sport. All the data were established by Excel 2010 to a database, and the test data were re-entered into SPSS 18.0 software for statistical analysis with double check. Result: Body morphogenetic development level: There were significant differences in height, weight, waist circumference, and upper arm skinfold thickness among different nationalities. The height and weight of Uygur students were significantly higher than those of Han and Hui students;but Waist circumference of Mongolian students was significantly greater than that of Han, Hui, and Uyghur Students. Detection rate for low weight and obesity: Four national student's BMI individual scores have significant differences, but their BMI in scored an average of more than 90 points, student's body mass index is more ideal. Exercise ability: Th ere are significant differences in standing jump and seat flexion, the standing jump of Hui stud ents is higher than that of Han nationality, and the seat flexion of Mongolian nationality is high er than those of Han and Uygur students, while the standing jump and seat flexion of Han natio nality is lower than those of Hui and Mongolian students. Conclusion: There are differences in the nutrition and development status of all nationalities and they have their own characteristics. Uygur students have higher heights and weights than those of Han students;Mongolian students have thicker waistlines;while Han students have higher measurements of upper arm skinfold thickness. The purposes of this research were: (1) to create a training package to prepare secondary school students in northeastern of Thailand toward ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Community; (2) to comp...The purposes of this research were: (1) to create a training package to prepare secondary school students in northeastern of Thailand toward ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Community; (2) to compare the knowledge of secondary school students toward ASEAN before and after use training package; and (3) the expectations of the students in the northeast of their own preparation for the ASEAN community. Experimental research was used in this research. The subject was including 2,000 students who were randomly divided into groups of seven provinces. The statistics used in data analysis were percentage, average, standard deviation, and T-test. The research results showed that: (1) a training package to prepare secondary school students in northeastern of Thailand toward ASEAN Community, the effectiveness index (E.I.) was .57, according to the established criteria; (2) a comparison of pretest and post-test results found the use of cognitive training may vary, statistically significant at the .05 level; (3) an expectation of the secondary school students in the preparation of role into ASEAN Community found that the students who participated in a concept reflect that the knowledge and attitudes to prepare themselves for the ASEAN community.展开更多
Purpose: This paper aims to explore best practices in academic and research libraries in providing information literacy(IL) instruction to science and engineering graduate students.Design/methodology/approach: Using t...Purpose: This paper aims to explore best practices in academic and research libraries in providing information literacy(IL) instruction to science and engineering graduate students.Design/methodology/approach: Using the questionnaire survey method, we conducted an IL assessment study on 114 graduate students enrolling in graduate courses offered by College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences(GUCAS).Findings: The current situation of graduate students' IL competencies and the need to develop them are revealed. An IL course was designed by subject librarians of National Science Library(NSL), Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS), with three patterns addressing the development of graduate students' IL competencies.Research limitations: It is only about the practice of subject librarians at NSL, CAS, in designing IL courses for graduate students enrolling in graduate courses offered by College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, GUCAS.Practical implications: The results can provide a lot of useful information for the improvement of IL competencies of graduate students in science and technology disciplines.Originality/value: It is significant for assisting future subject librarians in incorporating IL skills into their course, especially for academic and research librarians to prepare and develop IL courses for science and engineering graduate students.展开更多
To find out graduates' repayment awareness of student loan,we conducted a questionnaire survey for those graduates who applied for student loan in Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering.The survey has ...To find out graduates' repayment awareness of student loan,we conducted a questionnaire survey for those graduates who applied for student loan in Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering.The survey has following results.First,the national student loan plays an important role in assisting poor students in finishing their study.Second,graduates value social function of personal credit.Third,trustworthiness education activities carried out by colleges and universities are effective.Fourth,economic income is a major factor of graduates repaying capital with interest.Fifth,bank's student loan management system is not perfect.Sixth,the national student loan system remains to be improved.In line with these results,we put forward five countermeasures and suggestions:strengthen the trustworthiness education of students;standardize the credit investigation management of students' personal credit;establish student information management mechanism;standardize banks' payment reminder administration behavior;and perfect national student loan system.展开更多
