The antiplane problem of circular arc rigid line inclusions under antiplane concentrated force and longitudinal shear loading was dealt with. By using Riemann-Schwarz's symmetry principle integrated with the singularity analysis of complex functions, the general solution of the problem and the closed form solutions for some important practical problems were presented. The stress distribution in the immediate vicinity of circular arc rigid line end was examined in detail. The results show that the singular stress fields near the rigid inclusion tip possess a square-root singularity similar to that for the corresponding crack problem under antiplane shear loading, but no oscillatory character. Furthermore, the stresses are found to depend on geometrical dimension, loading conditions and materials parameters. Some practical results concluded are in agreement with the previous solutions. 展开更多

A series of conclusions areobtained: ①With the increasing in the values of gear width, the dynamic load factor appears slowdecreasing tendency in most region of gear width. ②When the accuracy grades of the gearing areimproved, the values of dynamic load factor decrease. ③The value of dynamic load factor appears adecreasing tendency with the increasing of value of helix angle at the same ratio of criticalrotational speed. 展开更多

In this paper, based on the Kirchhoff transformation and the natural boundary element method, a coupled natural boundary element and curved edge finite element is applied to solve the anisotropic quasi-linear problem in an unbounded domain with a concave angle. By using the principle of the natural boundary reduction, we obtain the natural integral equation on the artificial boundary of circular arc boundary, and get the coupled variational problem and its numerical method. Then the error and convergence of coupling solution are analyzed. Finally, some numerical examples are verified to show the feasibility of our method. 展开更多

The interaction of cowl shock wave and boundary layer has a crucial effect on the stability,operability and performance of hypersonic inlets.Many studies on inhibiting the sep-aration and managing the strength of the interaction of the shock wave and boundary layer with expansion corner have been conducted.However,the expansion waves near the circular arc shoulder to effectively control the interaction and cowl shock arrangement is little investigated.Therefore,the interaction of the cowl shock wave and boundary layer under thefluence of the expansion waves is studied by inviscid and viscous numerical simulations.The results reveal that the expansion waves have an important impact on the interaction between the cowl shock wave and boundary layer and the strength of shock wave,and that there are four types of inter-action processes with the change of the relative impingement positions of cowl shock wave.The expansion waves have a different influence on the shock wave and boundary layer inter-action at different incident points.When the incident point of the cowl shock wave goes far downstream from the end of the circular arc shoulder,the influence of expansion waves is weakened,and the magnitude of separation zone increases.However,when the expansion waves are applied to the interaction of the cowl shock wave and boundary layer on the circular arc shoulder,the separation can be effectively controlled.In particular,while the expansion waves interact with the shock wave and boundary layer in the back half of the circular arc shoulder,the separation is best inhibited.Compared with the upstream and downstream inci-dent points,the scale of separation area in the optimal control region is reduced by 65.3%at most.Furthermore,the total pressure recovery coefficientfirst increases and then decreases when the cowl moves from upstream to downstream,and the total pressure recovery coefficient reaches the maximum value of 68.36%at the incident position of cowl shock wave d Z 8.09d0.ª2024 The Authors.Publishing services by Elsevier B.V.on behalf of KeAi Communications Co.Ltd. 展开更多

A sirocco fan using contra-rotating rotors in which an inner rotor is settled inside the sirocco fan rotor and each rotor rotates in an opposite direction was proposed for the purpose of getting the higher pressure and making the structure of a sirocco fan more compact. If the high discharge pressure is obtained with the adoption of the contra-rotating rotors, it could be used for various purposes. Pressure coefficient of a sirocco fan with contra-rotating rotors is 2.5 times as high as the conventional sirocco fan and the maximum efficiency point of contra-rotating rotors shifts to larger flow rate than a conventional sirocco fan. On the other hand, it was clarified from the flow measurement results that circumferential velocity component at the outlet of the outer rotor of contra-rotating ro- tors becomes larger than a conventional one. In the present paper, the performance of a conventional sirocco fan and a sirocco fan with contra-rotating rotors are shown and the internal flow field at the outlet of outer rotor of both cases is clarified. Then, the effect of different kind of contra-rotating rotors on the performance and internal flow field is investigated and the rotor design with higher performance would be discussed. 展开更多

They are commonly useful in a variety of applications, either for aesthetic or for engineering requirements. In this paper we propose a new iterative subdivision scheme for generating planar spiral segments from two points and their tangent vectors. The subdivision process consists of two main steps, computing new points and adjusting tangent vectors adaptively for each iteration. We categorize this iterative scheme as geometry driven because we utilize the old points and their tangent vectors whereas most other iterative schemes rely only on the old points. Some numerical examples are presented to show the advantageous properties of the new scheme. 展开更多
