Ancient Chinese medical theories advocate forging a narrative bond with patients, urging healthcare practitioners to utilize Dao Shu Jie He(道术结合 integration of Dao and techniques) and Yi Dao Yu Shu(以道驭术 guiding techniques with Dao) during diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. In this context, Dao(道) in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) corresponds to narrative thinking(叙事思维) while Shu(术) aligns with scientific thinking(科学思维) in evidence-based medicine. Objective:High-quality and successful nursing care delivery in a variety of situations requires critical thinking training and professional commitment.The present study aimed to investigate critical thinking dispositi...Objective:High-quality and successful nursing care delivery in a variety of situations requires critical thinking training and professional commitment.The present study aimed to investigate critical thinking disposition,professional commitment,and the relationship between these 2 variables among nurses.Methods:As a result of stratified random sampling,201 nurses were enrolled in the present cross-sectional study.Data were gathered using a socio-demographic form,the Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory(CTDI),and the Nurses'Professional Commitment Scale(NPCS).Results:Although the critical thinking disposition scores were at a moderate level(115.70±13.55),the mean score for professional commitment was high(91.37±11.77).A positive correlation was found between critical thinking disposition and professional commitment(r=0.67,P=0.001).Conclusions:Nursing managers are urged to employ strategies to enhance nurses'critical thinking disposition and professional commitment.展开更多

In the 1996 AIA (American Institute of Architecture) Convention in Minneapolis, the governing bodies in the education and professionalization of architects in the US (namely, the American Institute of Architecture,...In the 1996 AIA (American Institute of Architecture) Convention in Minneapolis, the governing bodies in the education and professionalization of architects in the US (namely, the American Institute of Architecture, American Institute of Architecture Students, National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, National Architecture Accrediting Board and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture) released the Boyer Report, subsequently published as Building Community: A New Future for Architecture Education and Practice. The report was named in honor of Ernest Boyer, an educational theorist who also participated in writing the text. Less comprehensive than the canonical texts by Marcus Vitruvius Pollio and his interlocutors, it is nonetheless a mirror of our current assumptions about the education of the architect. This paper looks at the epistemology inherited from Vitruvius as it shapes pedagogy up and through the Boyer Report and into the 21 st century. Using a method of comparative analysis applied to past and current architecture programs, our argument is that historical divisions between professional or applied knowledge and liberal or theoretical knowledge inherited from the past limit our capacity within architecture education to integrate new strategies for knowledge creation and dissemination. It is concluded that any serious revision of architecture education means a systematic reconsideration of the basis of architecture knowledge. What of the (persistent) Vitruvian model is relevant in our post-modern condition? What do we learn from the image of our profession projected through the lens of the Boyer Report and it is like? Objective: This study investigated and compared the clinical thinking ability of undergraduate nursing students of different grades, and searched for influencing factors of clinical thinking ability of nursing underg...Objective: This study investigated and compared the clinical thinking ability of undergraduate nursing students of different grades, and searched for influencing factors of clinical thinking ability of nursing undergraduate students. Methods: The convenience sampling method was used to select the Subject of the study. In total, 180 third-year, fourth-year, and fifth-year nursing undergraduate students were enrolled in this study. A self-designed scale of clinical thinking ability was used to collect the data. SPSS17.0 was used to analyze the data. Results: The average scores of clinical thinking ability of undergraduate nursing students were 68.14±9.13. In addition, 71.1% of the students have a higher level of clinical thinking ability, and only 7.2% of the students have the best level. The ANOVA test showed that the fourth-year students had the highest scores(72.96±8.64), and the third-year students had the lowest scores(62.35±8.09), which indicated a significant difference in the scores of the three groups( F= 26. 79, P〈0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis indicated that the frequency of academic activities and the frequency of department rounds were significantly correlated to clinical thinking ability(P〈0.05). Conclusion: We must pay attention to the changes and influencing factors of clinical thinking ability of nursing undergraduate students. Thus, traditional teaching methods need to evolve and be revised to host the capacity of clinical practice most effectively and, eventually, promote the development of clinical thinking ability of nursing undergraduate students.展开更多

文摘There are two dimensions of creative thinking:a creative"state of mind"and creative"thinking tactics".The former means clarity of mind which makes people always ready for truth,while the latter points to an effective way of creative thinking.The formation of creative thinking requires a leisurely mindset.Leisure education could help people make the best use of their leisure,let leisure wield a positive influence on creativity cultivation,and eliminate the downside of the current education,thereby rendering people’s efforts to cultivate creative thinking more effectively.The goal of leisure education is to achieve a creative"state of mind"required for creative thinking,while the content and approaches adopted by leisure education could provide inspiration for creative"thinking tactics".To vigorously expand leisure education will be necessary in this creative age,especially for the cultivation of creative talents.
文摘After the exploration of different kind of thinking skills oriented to dis-cerning complex issues and phenomena,this article argues about the need to use a new modality of thinking,defined as integral thinking.Based on the holonic theory and on the proprieties of the holons and their part-whole relationships,the paper proposes and characterizes integral think-ing,a kind of thinking that is holistic but also has span and profundity,going beyond conventional Aristotelian epistemic-inspired ways.Integral thinking joins in a single model the assets of premodern,modern and postmodern thinking systems;and helps in going beyond the nowadays syncretism of many perspectives.Integral thinking is the kind of thinking appropriated to the contemporary need to think integrally in science,cul-ture,professions,and arts or about the evolution of personal conscious-ness.It’s useful also to be applied in the diverse professional fields,espe-cially when comprehensive approaches are needed.Integral thinking can be used in holistic education and pedagogies.The use of integral thinking in the educational actuality can help to characterize the integral education practice and agenda.

文摘Objective: This study investigated and compared the clinical thinking ability of undergraduate nursing students of different grades, and searched for influencing factors of clinical thinking ability of nursing undergraduate students. Methods: The convenience sampling method was used to select the Subject of the study. In total, 180 third-year, fourth-year, and fifth-year nursing undergraduate students were enrolled in this study. A self-designed scale of clinical thinking ability was used to collect the data. SPSS17.0 was used to analyze the data. Results: The average scores of clinical thinking ability of undergraduate nursing students were 68.14±9.13. In addition, 71.1% of the students have a higher level of clinical thinking ability, and only 7.2% of the students have the best level. The ANOVA test showed that the fourth-year students had the highest scores(72.96±8.64), and the third-year students had the lowest scores(62.35±8.09), which indicated a significant difference in the scores of the three groups( F= 26. 79, P〈0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis indicated that the frequency of academic activities and the frequency of department rounds were significantly correlated to clinical thinking ability(P〈0.05). Conclusion: We must pay attention to the changes and influencing factors of clinical thinking ability of nursing undergraduate students. Thus, traditional teaching methods need to evolve and be revised to host the capacity of clinical practice most effectively and, eventually, promote the development of clinical thinking ability of nursing undergraduate students.
