The intent of this paper is to evaluate College English Test(CET)’s reliability,validity and washback effect in the con⁃text of language assessment by applying Brown’s framework of test usefulness.The result of literature review and discussion shows that CET’s student-related reliability and rater reliability for writing section are unfavorable while its test administration reliability and rater reliability for CETSET has been increasing;CET’s content and construct validity are getting improved but its criterionrelated validity has been violated due to students’inappropriate learning attitude;CET’s negative washback has been caused due to the overemphasis on passing rate,but previous surveys shows positive washback in teaching and learning as students’reading and oral communication abilities have been improved.In the end,three suggestions for CET’s development are summed up:empha⁃sis less on test result;inform students with the significance of CET’s reform;the relationship among testing,teaching and learning should be built into a mutual promotion format. 展开更多

该研究以某高校大学英语教师为研究对象,主要通过问卷调查对比了CET(新题型)出台前后该校教师们对CET及其反拨效应的认识。结果显示,大学英语教师总体上对CET(新题型)比较熟悉;对CET(新题型)各部分及其所占比重持正面态度;CET(新题型)各... 该研究以某高校大学英语教师为研究对象,主要通过问卷调查对比了CET(新题型)出台前后该校教师们对CET及其反拨效应的认识。结果显示,大学英语教师总体上对CET(新题型)比较熟悉;对CET(新题型)各部分及其所占比重持正面态度;CET(新题型)各项,特别是翻译,对大学英语教学产生的正面影响远大于负面影响。后者主要表现为:随着学期的推移,教师们课堂辅导CET的频率有所增加。另外,影响大学英语教学的主要因素是学生英语水平、班级大小和学习风气,CET(新题型)只是其中一个因素。 展开更多
