Conducting the Task-based Approach With Context Aware Mobile Situated Learning on Learning English for College Students' Learning Performance

Learning English with specific purpose (ESP) initiatives domain knowledge and language ability with English learning to meet future job demands (Leroux & Lafleur, 1995; Khan & Khan, 2015). In the information age, the innovative technologies of mobile devices make the dramatical changes in ways of teaching and learning (Atkinson, 2011; Bierstaker, Janvrin & Lowe, 2014, Pittaway, 2012; Yang & Che, 2015). The focus of this study aims to examine ESP college students' English learning performance by using Context Aware Mobile Situated Learning (CAMSL) in Tourism and Hospitality Management field and other majors. The mixed research method is conducted for data collection and analysis. The quantitative data are collected by examining students' learning performance; the qualitative data are allowed to understand the students' perspective toward their role in using the CAMSL with Tourism related content. Eight-three students are randomly selected and divided into two groups: 42 students are assigned in the experimental group A (CAMSL), and 41 students are assigned in control group. Two groups of students receive pretest and posttest to examine their English performance. Besides, twenty students from group A and B are selected for online survey. The survey is mailed directly to students' email account. Results represented by using CAMSL show the significant improvement on students' learning performance. In addition, the survey data indicate the benefits of using the CAMSL help students enhance their academic discourse, develop their learned knowledge to represent their profession, use English properly to speak themselves up, and provide the effectiveness of obtain domain knowledge in future workplace. 展开更多

To find out graduates' repayment awareness of student loan,we conducted a questionnaire survey for those graduates who applied for student loan in Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering.The survey has following results.First,the national student loan plays an important role in assisting poor students in finishing their study.Second,graduates value social function of personal credit.Third,trustworthiness education activities carried out by colleges and universities are effective.Fourth,economic income is a major factor of graduates repaying capital with interest.Fifth,bank's student loan management system is not perfect.Sixth,the national student loan system remains to be improved.In line with these results,we put forward five countermeasures and suggestions:strengthen the trustworthiness education of students;standardize the credit investigation management of students' personal credit;establish student information management mechanism;standardize banks' payment reminder administration behavior;and perfect national student loan system. 展开更多

The education of civic awareness is completed through the combination of school, society, family and other social channels. It is a process of socialization and re-socialization. College students are the main part of the construction in the modem harmonious society. The development of college students' civic awareness will be significant to construct the harmonious society and promote the process of national law. However, there still lacks the sense of civic awareness in the current population of college students, which appears the lack of sense of responsibility and the scarcity of the moral sense. The paper intends to test Chinese students' intercultural awareness and intercultural competence via the completion of a questionnaire conducted amongst 216 English majors by the end of their third year and 354 non-English majors (CET Band 6) in five northern universities of China. The theoretical framework of the paper originates from Young Yun Kim's structural model of factors influencing intercultural adaption and Gao Yihong's ' going across' and ' going beyond' as two levels of intercultural communication competence development. The questionnaire tests the students' knowledge of communication, culture and intercultural awareness. The results show that: The learners are prevalently lacking profound intercultural communication awareness; Intercultural communication course can validly improve the students''going across' culture; The majority of the mistakes made by the students in intercultural communication are mainly due to the 'negative transfer' of native culture. 展开更多

目的:以高职大学生为对象,以照片艺术治疗活动为介质,探讨其对促进高职大学生自我意识完善与发展的影响。方法:实验时间分为两个阶段,分别是:2022年3月至6月和2023年3月至6月,通过发布招募信息,学生主动报名,采取随机分组的方式分为实验... 目的:以高职大学生为对象,以照片艺术治疗活动为介质,探讨其对促进高职大学生自我意识完善与发展的影响。方法:实验时间分为两个阶段,分别是:2022年3月至6月和2023年3月至6月,通过发布招募信息,学生主动报名,采取随机分组的方式分为实验组(20人)和控制组(20人)。主要观察指标为:自我接纳问卷、自尊量表、自我调控能力问卷、自我认同量表、田纳西自我概念量表。实验组接受8次照片艺术治疗团体心理辅导;控制组不接受任何实验处理。结果:实验组成员经过照片艺术治疗团体心理辅导后其自我意识发生了显著的提升(p<0.05),相较于控制组也呈现出显著性差异(p<0.05)。此外,四周后的追踪结果显示照片艺术治疗团体辅导对学生自我意识的完善与发展方面仍具有持续作用(p<0.05),但这取决于学生通过团体辅导对照片治疗的理念和方法内化于心、外化于行的效果。结论:照片艺术治疗是促进高职大学生自我意识完善与发展的有效途径。 展开更多

在新冠疫情背景下在线学习的常态化发展,大学生的自主在线学习意识和学习效果已然成为评价学习质量和教育质量的观察指标。该研究旨在通过对336名大学生进行自主在线学习意识、学习效果及两者关系的研究分析,为在线学习意识和效果的提... 在新冠疫情背景下在线学习的常态化发展,大学生的自主在线学习意识和学习效果已然成为评价学习质量和教育质量的观察指标。该研究旨在通过对336名大学生进行自主在线学习意识、学习效果及两者关系的研究分析,为在线学习意识和效果的提高提出相关建议。采用曼-惠特尼U检验和Kruskal-Wallis检验分析进行在线学习意识、学习效果的现状及差异性分析;采用多因素线性回归分析在线学习意识和学习效果的影响因素;在线学习意识和学习效果的相关性检验采用Spearman相关性分析。研究发现影响大学生自主在线学习意识和学习效果的因素包括专业、年级、学习时间、学习频率及网络环境。建议学校针对不同专业、年级学生合理有计划地安排自主在线学习时间和频率,优化在线学习网络环境和在线学习资源,进而提高自主在线学习意愿和学习效果。 展开更多

基于线索过滤理论和双自我意识理论,通过线上发放问卷的方式对湖北、吉林、山东、浙江四个省份共六所综合和师范类高校的1625名大学生进行调查,以探讨社会临场感对网络过激行为的影响、作用机制以及性别差异。结果表明:(1)社会临场感能... 基于线索过滤理论和双自我意识理论,通过线上发放问卷的方式对湖北、吉林、山东、浙江四个省份共六所综合和师范类高校的1625名大学生进行调查,以探讨社会临场感对网络过激行为的影响、作用机制以及性别差异。结果表明:(1)社会临场感能够显著正向预测大学生网络过激行为;(2)公我意识和私我意识在社会临场感和大学生网络过激行为之间起并行中介作用,公我意识起正向中介作用,私我意识起负向中介作用,且后者效应大于前者;(3)性别调节该并行中介模型中公我意识路径的前半与后半路径。具体而言,相较于女生,公我意识的正向中介作用对男生更强。本研究探讨了大学生社会临场感通过双自我意识对网络过激行为产生影响的作用机制及性别差异,揭示了私我意识的积极作用,基于去个性化效应的社会认同模型指出网络群体在其中的重要性,发现了男女网络过激行为水平存在差异的原因之一,为网络过激行为的干预提供了指导性建议。 展开更多
