Study Weariness of Vocational College Students and Reform of the Teaching Mode in Nursing Basic Technology Course

Objective: As part of an investigation and analysis of the study weariness of nursing vocational college students, the authors attempted to reform the teaching mode of a Nursing Basic Technolo-gy course to solve the problem of study weariness in vocational college students. Methods: The authors designed student questionnaires to investigate study weariness in 128 nurs-ing vocational college students. Results: Of the 128 students, 58 were tired of study, accounting for 45. 3%; 40 students often had weariness, accounting for 31. 3%; and 71 students had moderate or severe weariness, accounting for 55. 5%. Seventy-five students played on their mobile phone when they were tired of studying. Conclusions: The study weariness of vocational college students is a common phenomenon that has been developing rapidly. There are many factors that cause study weariness of professional college students. The students believe that the traditional teaching method is the main reason for study weariness. Reform of the teaching mode in a Nursing Basic Technology course effectively solved the learning problems of vocational college students. Teaching experiments for reform may have marked effects, and they are worthy of promoting.

Reform of Teaching Mode for College Students'Financial Literacy Training under General Education:Taking Yangtze University as an Example

The development of Internet finance has made the financial environment faced by college students more complicated.The level of financial literacy best reflects a person's sensitivity to the financial environment and flexibility to respond to financial events.Therefore,to improve the financial literacy of college students,popularizing financial knowledge is bound to become the key content of general education and teaching work in contemporary colleges and universities.In this article,taking 400 undergraduates from Yangtze University as the research object,the participation in online lending and the mastery of financial knowledge were investigated and analyzed,then the current teaching situation of financial literacy courses was introduced,and finally,a number of suggestions to improve the teaching reform of financial literacy were put forward.

An Experimental Study on Metaphorical Teaching Method in College English Students＇ Listening

In recent years, college English teaching has been undergoing great reform. Ministry of National Euducation has extended more and more attention on students＇ speaking and listening ability. To master a language is based on what people hear and understand. Thus, listening comprehension is vital in the college language teaching. In this critical moment, there should be a pratical and effective theory to advance the quality and efficiency of listening teaching and contribute to the whole college language teaching reform. Thus, this experimental research is on the basis of metaphor theory to find a way to improve students＇listening comprehension.

Error Analysis of CET-4 Translation Produced by Vocational & Techni⁃ cal College Students and the Backwash Effect of English Teaching

CET-4 is a national standardized English proficiency test designed and developed by the National College English Ex⁃amination Committee.The purpose of the test is to accurately measure the comprehensive English application ability of college stu⁃dents in China.The more important the test,the more obvious its backwash effect.With the increase of the proportion of subjective questions in CET-4,teachers should pay more attention to the transfer of skills and correct English expression while teaching the basic knowledge of English.In particular,the students in vocational and technical colleges are weak in English abilities,and their errors in translation are even more numerous and varied.Therefore,this study will analyze the translation errors produced by 200 vocational and technical college students in CET-4 of June 2019.By interviewing and investigating the students’actual situation of English learning,tips and proposals on backwash effect on teaching can be achieved.

Attempt to improve Vocabulary Teaching for Higher Vocational College Students

On Application of the Student-centered Approach in English Classroom Teaching of Chinese Vocational Colleges

Nowadays, people have been more critical about the traditional ways of teaching and advocate the student-centered teaching approach. This paper focuses on the student- centered approach in English classroom teaching in vocational colleges. It points out that the students' English levels, the current mainstream of teaching in English class as well as the teaching materials in Chinese vocational college are all important factors that influence the outcome of the student-centered teaching approach. Meanwhile, the paper proves that college students can gain more in the student-centered English class. In the end, some suggestions are provided.

A Study of Chinese College Students' Face Needs in EFL Class

Based on Brown &Levinson's Face Threatening Acts and Geert Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions,this study is an analysis of Chinese college students' face needs in EFL class.In this study,the subjects are 116 freshmen,non-English majors.Selecting totally 60 students from them and dividing them into two groups according to their scores of College English Entrance Examination.The collected data from questionnaire are analyzed by statistical software SPSS16.0 version.The major findings from the analysis include the following:1) high-scored students and low-scored students have similar positive face needs;2) Weight of imposition,group tendency and uncertainty avoidance are used to exam students' negative face needs.According to the data in SPSS16.0,there is a difference between the two groups in terms of the weight of imposition.But the Independent-Samples T test of Sum of Questionnaire indicates that there is no distinct difference in the negative face needs between the two groups.

Investigation of Critical Thinking Tendency of Engineering Students and Analysis of Teaching Countermeasures

“New Engineering”construction puts forward higher requirements for the critical thinking ability of engineering talents in the future.With“California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory Chinese Revision”,the critical thinking tendency of engineering majors in local engineering colleges was investigated and analyzed.The results showed that the critical thinking level of the engineering students was obviously lower.According to the findings and teaching practice,this paper gives some teaching countermeasures to strengthen the cultivation of critical thinking of engineering students.

On Application of American TV Series Resources in College English Teaching

Currently, many college students watch American TV series to study English and some American TV Series resources have been ushered to the college English class. This research commences from studying a class of Shanghai Normal University,Tianhua College, aiming to explore advantages and disadvantages of American TV series when it is used as English learning resources. It is implied that when it comes to teaching college English based on American TV series, the teacher should select high quality video materials in advance, guide students to form rational cultural exchange values. Furthermore, when playing the American audio-visual materials, the teacher must illustrate key language points and help students to absorb and review them for the sake of better learning effects of the students.

Views on College Students' English Learning Motivation

This paper aims at exploring college students' English learning motivation to language learning, including effort, interest, and attitudes. To some extent, it is very important to perform activities in language learning classes.
