A Case Report on Treating Progressive Supranuclear Palsy with a Combination of Chinese and Western Medicine

A case of progressive supranuclear palsy in a 66-year-old woman is presented.The patient complained of“progressive stiffness of both lower limbs for five years,accompanied by choking and coughing for more than 1 year,”and was diagnosed with paralysis in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),which was characterized by a deficiency of liver and kidney,and phlegm and blood stasis blocking the collaterals.Western medicine diagnosed it as progressive supranuclear palsy.The patient was diagnosed with“Parkinson’s disease”several times in the past and was given“polybasic hydrazide”and“amantadine hydrochloride tablets,”etc.The patient did not have significant symptomatic relief,so she sought further treatment with a combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine.Based on the concept of deficiency and excess,this disease is categorized as a paralytic disease in Chinese medicine,and the onset of the disease is closely related to the deficiency of the body after a long period of illness,with wind,phlegm,blood stasis,and deficiency as the main pathogenetic mechanism.The treatment is based on the combination of disease and evidence,with traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture as the main treatments,supplemented by intermediate-frequency pulsed electrical stimulation,transcranial repetitive magnetic stimulation,medicated canisters,wax therapy,traditional Chinese medicine guasha,and acupoint injections.Western medicine is based on symptomatic treatment,and the patient’s symptoms were relieved significantly after the combination of Chinese and Western medicine.

Research Progress of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Dressing Change on Wound Healing After Anal Fistula Surgery

With the change of people’s lifestyle and diet,the incidence of anorectal diseases is increasing year by year.Anal fistula is a common anorectal disease.Because it cannot heal by itself,surgery has become the main treatment method.Due to the particularity of wound location and physiological structure,the wound is easily contaminated by bacteria,so dressing change after surgery plays a decisive role in wound healing.Modern western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine have different dressing changing methods respectively.In this paper,we reviewed commonly used dressing changing methods of traditional Chinese and western medicine after anal fistula surgery.

meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials of combined treatment with DGSN and western medicine on diabetic peripheral neuropathy

背景:为了系统研究当归四逆汤联合西医治疗糖尿病周围神经病的临床疗效。方法:检索了包括CNKI、CBM、万方数据库、维普数据库、MEDLINE、PubMed、荷兰医学文摘在内的7个数据库。检索出2012年1月至今(近5年)当归四逆汤联合西医治疗糖尿病周围神经病随机对照试验的相关文献。采用RevMan5.3软件分析发表偏倚并对比当归四逆汤联合西医和单独西医治疗糖尿病周围神经病的临床疗效。结果:共纳入19篇随机对照研究,1690例患者。Meta分析结果显示与对照组相比当归四逆汤联合西医治疗糖尿病周围神经病有更好的总有效率,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。异质性检验分析显示均为同质(P=0.94>0.05)。当归四逆汤联合西医治疗的总有效率明显高于对照组(P<0.00001,OR=3.98,95%CI:3.01~5.27)。结论:与单独西医治疗相比,当归四逆汤联合西医治疗糖尿病周围神经病更有效。然而,由于受原始研究数量、质量的影响,该结论仍有待于临床大样本、高质量、多中心的随机双盲对照试验来证实。

Clinical Observation of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in the Treatment of Chronic Ulcerative Rectitis

Objective:To observe and compare whether the combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine can achieve more satisfactory results in the treatment of patients with chronic ulcerative rectitis(UR).Methods:70 cases of chronic ulcerative rectitis were selected in all hospitals of our hospital for comparison.Observation and control were set up.The number of people was the same,but there were differences in methods.The control group retained enema,and the observation group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine.Rectal mucosa scores after different treatments were compared to evaluate the effect of intervention.Results:It was found that the observation group scored lower(P<0.05),and the effect was better.Conclusion:For the treatment of patients with chronic ulcerative rectitis,the combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine will help to promote the prognosis of the disease,improve the problem of ulcer,promote the improvement of gastrointestinal function and bring a more positive impact.

Clinical Efficacy of Western Medicine Combined with Chinese Medicine for Pelvic Inflammatory Disease(Damp-Heat and Stasis Type)

Objective:This study was undertaken to evaluate the clinical efficacy of Western medicine combined with Chinese medicine for pelvic inflammatory disease(damp-heat and stasis type).Methods:Seventy-four patients who were diagnosed with pelvic inflammatory disease(damp-heat and stasis type)by our hospital during July 2021 to July 2022 were randomized into two groups:the participants in the control group received conventional Western medicine treatment,and the participants in the study group received Western medicine combined with Chinese medicine.Results:After treatment,the total effectiveness of the control group(72.98%)was significantly lower than that of the study group(94.59%),(P<0.05);the whole blood viscosity high cut,whole blood viscosity low cut,fibrinogen and plasma viscosity of the control group were all lower than those of the study group(P<0.05);the levels of CRP,IL-6,and TNF-αin the control group were higher and IL-2 levels in the control group were lower than those in the study group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Western medicine combined with Chinese medicine is more effective in curing damp-heat and stasis-type pelvic inflammatory disease by improving the blood rheological indexes and lowering the level of inflammatory factors.

Progress on Therapy of Infertility by Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine

Infertility is one of the difficult complicated diseases. Many couples suffer from it. The pathogenesis is very complicated. The imbalance or lesson of any link of the reproductive system can cause infertility. This paper summarizes the treatment of female infertility by integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Western Medicine (WM) which can not only improve the ovulation rate and pregnancy rate, but also decrease the complications. The effects are better than that by TCM or WM only. Therefore, the coupling method is worth to be used widely in clinical practice.

Clinical Effect of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine on Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy

Objective:Patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy were treated with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine,and the final results were observed.Methods:70 patients with such symptoms were randomly divided into two groups.The number of people is the same,and the treatment methods are different.The control group uses western medicine,while the observation group uses traditional Chinese medicine to evaluate the treatment effect.Results:After treatment,the effective rate of the observation group was(P<0.05),indicating that the treatment effect was significantly better.Conclusion:Patients with clinical diabetic peripheral neuropathy treated with routine nutrition and nerve repair,and with Chinese medicine,the effect is more satisfactory,and the effect is positive,so as to promote the optimization of their health.

Progress in the Treatment of Edema After Surgery for Mixed Hemorrhoids

Edema is a common postoperative complication in mixed hemorrhoids.With the development of medical treatment,surgical improvement has greatly reduced surgical trauma to the body,but the issue of postoperative edema still exists.In order to explore the treatment progress of edema after surgery for mixed hemorrhoids,literatures on integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine for postoperative edema in hemorrhoids have been reviewed in hope to better understand the complication and provide reference for relevant clinical studies in the future.

甲状腺结节发病机制与中西医治法研究进展

近年来甲状腺结节疾病高发,该病是由甲状腺细胞的局部异常生长而引起的散在病变,中医称其为“瘿病”。其现代医学病因尚不明确,目前认为可能与雌激素的增殖效应、肥胖、糖尿病、遗传基因等因素有关。中医病因病机可概括为肝郁气滞、痰瘀互结、冲任失调三大类,分别对应囊性结节、增生性结节、甲状腺结节伴乳腺结节。在临床治疗方面,中医根据体质辨识,发现甲状腺结节患者最常见的中医体质类型为气郁质、气虚质、阳虚质、湿热质,可采用疏肝解郁、温阳补气、调补冲任等方法辨证论治。现代医学治疗手段主要有外源性补充左旋甲状腺素、甲状腺切除术、微波及射频消融等。探索现代中西医治疗甲状腺结节的方法具有重要意义,在查阅大量文献的基础上,作者从多方面对甲状腺结节中西医研究进展进行了梳理,以期为进一步提高甲状腺结节临床疗效提供参考。

基于德尔菲法确定《子宫腺肌病中西医结合诊疗指南》的临床问题

目的:基于德尔菲法形成《子宫腺肌病中西医结合诊疗指南》的临床问题,形成子宫腺肌病的规范性、实用性中西医结合诊疗指南。方法:基于德尔菲法,结合前期文献研究结果,采用问卷星编制调查问卷,向全国13个省(市、自治区)的34名专家进行两轮函询。结果:两轮德尔菲法均发放34份问卷,问卷回收率为100%,两轮函询积极系数均为100%,权威系数均>0.70,变异系数分别为0.00~0.38、0.13~0.37,肯德尔和谐系数分别为0.229、0.100(P<0.05);共形成了30个临床问题,凝练后最终形成10个必须在指南中形成推荐意见或说明的临床问题。结论:本研究通过两轮德尔菲法调查确定了需要纳入《子宫腺肌病中西医结合诊疗指南》的临床问题,为指南的后续制定工作奠定了良好基础。

外侧盘状半月板的中西医治疗新进展

盘状半月板作为半月板的一种先天变异,由Young在1889年首次提出,属中医学“伤筋”范畴。该病的形成机制尚不明确,多存在于外侧半月板,损伤多与活动相关,且在亚洲人群多发。临床上多建议以手术治疗为主,而随着中医治疗的不断研究,也为我们临床治疗提供了多种方案。本文对当前外侧盘状半月板的中西医治疗情况进行综述,以期为临床工作提供一定的指导作用。

中药封包结合西药治疗对气滞血瘀证腰椎间盘突出症的疗效

目的探讨中药封包结合西药治疗对腰椎间盘突出症(气滞血瘀证)的临床效果。方法本研究共纳入125例腰椎间盘突出症患者,所有病例均来源于安阳市中医院,选取时间为2021年9月至2023年9月,根据治疗方法将患者分为对照组(62例,常规西药治疗)和研究组(63例,中药封包结合西药治疗)。对比2组患者治疗后前后中医证候积分、视觉模拟疼痛量表(VAS)评分、Oswestry功能障碍指数(ODI)量表、日本骨科协会下腰痛评估问卷(JOA)评分,治疗前后各项血清学指标以及2组患者不良反应发生情况。结果治疗后2组患者各项中医证候积分较治疗前降低,研究组患者上述评分较对照组低(t=7.734、10.168、7.884、8.912,P均<0.01);治疗后2组患者VAS评分、ODI评分均较治疗前下降,研究组患者上述评分较对照组低,治疗后2组患者J0A评分较治疗前上升,研究组较对照组高(t=10.368、10.398、4.219,均P<0.01);治疗后2组患者血清前列腺素E2(PCE2)、肿瘤坏死因子-α(TNF-α)、转化生长因子β_(1)(TGF-β_(1))、重组人基质金属蛋白酶3(MMP-3)水平均较治疗前下降,研究组患者上述指标均较对照组低,而治疗后2组患者β-内啡肽(β-EP)水平较治疗前上升,研究组较对照组高(t=30.026、10.895、9.446、6.665,13.012,P均<0.01);2组患者不良反应总发生率比较,差异无统计学意义(χ^(2)=0.088,P>0.05)。结论腰椎间盘突出症(气滞血瘀证)的治疗中采用中药封包联合常规西药治疗,可有效缓解临床症状,减轻疼痛程度与炎症反应,促进腰椎功能的恢复,并有助于腰椎纤维化程度好转,且安全性良好。

中西医结合治疗高脂血症性急性胰腺炎的研究进展

高脂血症性急性胰腺炎(hyperlipidemia in acute pancreatitis,HTG-AP)是由血清甘油三酯升高引起的急性胰腺炎,临床以保守治疗为主,除西医常规治疗以外,传统中医药治疗具有显著疗效,大柴胡汤、大承气汤等化裁被临床广泛应用,且联合中药外治法治疗,效果更佳。目前,中外学者从不同靶点探究HTG-AP的治疗。文章从靶向治疗、炎症机制及肠道菌群等方面介绍HTG-AP中西医治疗的研究进展。

非小细胞肺癌免疫检查点抑制剂相关性肺炎研究进展及中西医结合治疗

免疫检查点抑制剂(ICIs)主要包括细胞毒性T淋巴细胞抗原4(CTLA-4)抑制剂和程序性细胞死亡蛋白1/配体1(PD-1/PD-L1)抑制剂,为非小细胞肺癌(NSCLC)患者带来显著的治疗效益。但是,在增强机体抗肿瘤免疫反应的同时,ICIs产生免疫相关不良事件(irAEs),包括免疫检查点抑制剂相关性肺炎(CIP)。虽然CIP临床发病率较低,但在一些严重病例中可能导致免疫治疗的延迟或终止,甚至危害生命。本文拟从CIP的临床表现、病理特征、生物学机制、易感人群、诊断与鉴别诊断以及中西医结合治疗等角度进行总结,以期更加清晰地认识CIP。
