For thick In As/Al Sb superlattice clad layers, the sublayer thicknesses were adjusted so that the tensile strain energy in the In As sublayer was equal to the compressive strain energy in the Al Sb sublayer. For the four-constituent active region, as the compressive strain in the Ga0.65In0.35Sb alloy layer was large, a tensile strain was incorporated in the chirped In As/Al Sb superlattice region for strain compensation to the Ga0.65In0.35Sb alloy. A laser structure of thickness 6 μm was grown on the Ga Sb substrate by molecular beam epitaxy. The wafer exhibited good surface morphology and high crystalline quality.展开更多

METHODS We enrolled 174 chronic hepatitis B-related liver cirrhosis patients treated with 300 mg/d TDF at six Korean centers. Of the 174 cirrhosis patients, 57 were assigned to the decompensated cirrhosis group and 117 were assigned to the compensated cirrhosis group. We followed the patients for 12 mo and evaluated clinical outcomes, including biochemical, virological, and serological responses. We also evaluated changes in hepatic and renal function and compared the decompensated and compensated cirrhosis groups. RESULTS The 1-year complete virological response(CVR) and Hepatitis B e antigen(HBe Ag) seroconversion were seen in 70.2% and 14.2% in the decompensated cirrhosis group, respectively. The rates of HBe Ag seroconversion/loss and ALT normalization at month 12 were similar in both groups. TDF treatment was also effective for decreasing the level of hepatitis B virus(HBV) DNA in both groups, but CVR was higher in the compensated group(88.9% vs 70.2%, P = 0.005). Tenofovir treatment for 12 mo resulted in improved Child-Turcotte-Pugh(CTP) and model for end-stage liver disease(MELD) scores in decompensated group(P < 0.001). Of the 57 decompensated patients, 39(68.4%) achieved CTP class A and 27(49.1%) showed improvement in the CTP score of 2 points after 12 mo of TDF. The observed rate of confirmed 0.5 mg/d L increases in serum levels of creatinine in the decompensated and compensated cirrhosis group were 7.0% and 2.5%, respectively(P < 1.000).CONCLUSION TDF therapy in decompensated cirrhosis patients was effective for decreasing HBV DNA levels and improving hepatic function with relatively lower CVR than in compensated cirrhosis. Thus, physicians should carefully monitor not only renal function but also treatment responses when using TDF in decompensated cirrhosis patients.展开更多

The so-called compensated case is that there is no net magnetization on the AFM side of the interface. Our conclusion is that the EB in this case is primarily from the asymmetry of the interracial exchange coupling strengths between the FM and the two sublattices of the AFM. The effects of the layer thickness, temperature and the interracial coupling strength oi2 the exchange bias HE are investigated. The dependence of HE on the FM layer thickness and temperature is qualitatively in agreement with experimental results. HE is nearly inversely proportional to FM thickness. When temperature varies, both HE and He decrease with temperature increasing. The anisotropy of the FM layer only slightly influence He, but does not influence HE.展开更多

To date, no satisfactory theoretical model has been able to explain precisely the variety of new experimental results and observations related to compensated-Si. In this study, a new approach considering equilibrium ionisation constants according to electrolyte theory was proposed, which reproduce, for single-doped Si, Thurber's curves of charge carrier's mobilities. When more than one doping species are involved, as in compensated-Si, a numerical algorithm has to be used for solving multiple equilibrium systems. The study of such systems demonstrates a particular behaviour known from buffered solutions. Equilibrium constants were calculated from thermodynamic properties of chemical compounds, and a new general theory was proposed using available knowledge of electrochemistry (Nernst equation, Butler-Volmer equation). Considering that the silicon/dopant systems constitute a weak electrolyte solid solution, it is concluded that the electrolyte solution theory provides a good physical model and mathematical framework to get a better understanding of solar cell's behaviour.展开更多

We present the estimation of stochastic volatility from the stochastic differential equation for evenly spaced data. We indicate that, the price process is driven by a semi-martingale and the data are evenly spaced. The results of Malliavin and Mancino [1] are extended by adding a compensated poisson jump that uses a quadratic variation to calculate volatility. The volatility is computed from a daily data without assuming its functional form. Our result is well suited for financial market applications and in particular the analysis of high frequency data for the computation of volatility.展开更多

文摘BACKGROUND The albumin-bilirubin(ALBI)score is an index of liver function recently developed to assess prognosis in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).It can detect small changes in liver dysfunction and has been successfully applied to the prediction of survival in patients with non-malignant liver diseases of various etiologies.AIM To investigate the ALBI score for identifying decompensation risk at the 3-year follow-up in patients with compensated cirrhosis.METHODS One-hundred and twenty-three patients with compensated cirrhosis without HCC in King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital diagnosed by imaging were retrospectively enrolled from January 2016 to December 2020.A total of 113 patients(91.9%)had Child A cirrhosis with a median model for end-stage liver disease(MELD)score of less than 9.Baseline clinical and laboratory variables and decompensation events were collected. The ALBI score was calculated and validated to classify decompensation risk into low-,middle-,and high-risk groups using three ALBI grade ranges(ALBI grade 1:≤-2.60;grade 2:>-2.60 but≤-1.39;grade 3:>-1.39).Decompensation events were defined as ascites development, variceal bleeding,or grade 3 or 4 hepatic encephalopathy.RESULTS Among 123 cirrhotic patients enrolled,13.8%(n=17)developed decompensating events at a median time of 25[95%confidence interval(CI):17-31]mo.Median baseline ALBI score in compensated cirrhosis was significantly lower than that of patients who developed decompensation events[-2.768(-2.956 to-2.453)vs-2.007(-2.533 to-1.537);P=0.01].Analysis of decompensation risk at 3 years showed that ALBI score had a time-dependent area under the curve(tAUC)of 0.86(95%CI:0.78-0.92),which was significantly better than that of ALBI-Fibrosis-4(ALBI-FIB4)score(tAUC=0.77),MELD score(tAUC=0.66),Child-Pugh score(tAUC=0.65),and FIB-4 score(tAUC=0.48)(P<0.05 for all). The 3-year cumulative incidence of decompensation was 3.1%,22.6%,and 50%in the low-,middle-,and high-risk groups,respectively(P<0.001).The odds ratio for decompensation in patients of the high-risk group was 23.33(95%CI:3.88-140.12,P=0.001).CONCLUSION The ALBI score accurately identifies decompensation risk at the 3-year follow-up in patients with compensated cirrhosis. Those cirrhotic patients with a high-risk grade of ALBI score showed a 23 times greater odds of decompensation.

文摘We investigate a strain compensation method for the growth of complex interband cascade laser structures. The wafer exhibited good surface morphology and high crystalline quality.
文摘A bandgap voltage reference is presented with a piecewise linear compensating circuit in order to reduce the temperature coefficient. The basic principle is to divide the whole operating temperature range into some sub ranges. At different temperature sub ranges the bandgap reference can be compensated by different linear functions.Since the temperature sub range is much narrower than the whole range, the compensation error can be reduced significantly.Theoretically, the precision can be improved unlimitedly if the sub ranges are narrow enough. In the given example, with only three temperature sub ranges, the temperature coefficient of a conventional bandgap reference drops from 1 5×10 -5 /℃ to 2×10 -6 /℃ over the -40℃ to 120℃ temperature range.

文摘AIM To evaluate the safety and efficacy of tenofovir disoproxil fumarate(TDF) as a first-line therapy in decompensated liver disease. Thus, physicians should carefully monitor not only renal function but also treatment responses when using TDF in decompensated cirrhosis patients.

文摘BACKGROUND Cognitive impairment(CI)is common in patients with heart failure(HF),but the association between CI and biomarkers related to HF or cognitive decline in patients with HF remains unclear.METHODS This prospective observational study investigated the incidence of CI,subsequent cognitive changes, and the asso-ciation between CI and novel biomarkers in patients with left ventricular ejection fraction<40%who were hospitalized for acute decompensated HF.Patients were evaluated for CI,depressive symptoms, and quality of life with the Mini-Mental State Examin-ation(MMSE)and the Mini-Cog,Beck Depression Inventory(BDI)-II,and Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire(KCCQ),respectively. The primary endpoint was a composite of all-cause mortality or hospitalization for HF at one year.RESULTS Among the 145 patients enrolled in this study,54 had CI(37.2%)at baseline. The mean MMSE increased signific-antly at the 3-month and 1-year follow-up,accompanied by decreased BDI-II and increased KCCQ scores. The improvement in the MMSE scores mainly occurred in patients with CI.Among the biomarkers assayed, only growth/differentiation factor(GDF)-15>1621.1 pg/mL was significantly associated with CI(area under the curve=0.64;P=0.003).An increase in GDF-15 per 1000 units was associated with an increased risk of the primary endpoint(hazard ratio=1.42;95%confidence interval:1.17-1.73;P<0.001).CONCLUSIONS In patients with HF with CI,cognitive function, depression, and quality of life measures improved at the 3-month and 1-year follow-up.GDF-15 predicted CI with moderate discrimination capacity and was associated with worse HF out-comes.

文摘The exchange bias (EB) of the ferromagnetic (FM)/antiferromagnetic (AFM) bilayers in a compensated case is studied by use of the many-body Green's function method of quantum statistical theory. The anisotropy of the FM layer only slightly influence He, but does not influence HE.

文摘Strain-compensated Ge/Si0.15Ge0.85 multiple quantum wells were grown on an Si0.1 Ge0.9 virtual substrate using ultrahigh vacuum chemical vapor deposition technology on an n+-Si(001) substrate. Photoluminescence measurements were performed at room temperature, and the quantum confinement effect of the direct-bandgap transitions of a Ge quantum well was observed, which is in good agreement with the calculated results. The luminescence mechanism was discussed by recombination rate analysis and the temperature dependence of the luminescence spectrum.
文摘Models establishing relationships between electrical resistivity and dopant densities of silicon wafers/bricks are not applicable for compensated-Si, such as upgraded metallurgical grade silicon UMG-Si. Considering that the silicon/dopant systems constitute a weak electrolyte solid solution, it is concluded that the electrolyte solution theory provides a good physical model and mathematical framework to get a better understanding of solar cell's behaviour.

文摘The electronic structures of Ti_2NbSb with Hg_2CuTi structure and TiZrNbSb with LiMgPdSn structure are investigated using first-principles calculations. The results indicate that Ti_2NbSb is a fully compensated ferrimagnetic spin-gapless semiconductor with an energy gap of 0.13 e V,and TiZrNbSb is a half-metallic fully compensated ferrimagnet with a half-metallic gap of 0.17 e V.For Ti_2NbSb,the total energy of the Hg_2CuTi structure is0.62 e V/f.u.higher than that of the L2_(1) structure, which is the ground state, and for TiZrNbSb,the total energy of the structure considered in this work is only 0.15 e V/f.u.larger than that of the ground state. Thus both of them may be good candidates for spintronic applications.
文摘To solve the symmetric positive definite linear system Ax = b on parallel and vector machines, multisplitting methods are considered. Here the s.p.d. (symmetric positive definite) matrix A need not be assumed in a special form (e.g. the dissection form [11]). The main tool for deriving our methods is the diagonally compensated reduction (cf. [1]). The convergence of such methods is also discussed by using this tool. [WT5,5”HZ]

文摘Current-induced multilevel magnetization switching in ferrimagnetic spintronic devices is highly pursued for the application in neuromorphic computing. In this work,we demonstrate the switching plasticity in Co/Gd ferrimagnetic multilayers where the binary states magnetization switching induced by spin–orbit toque can be tuned into a multistate one as decreasing the domain nucleation barrier. Therefore, the switching plasticity can be tuned by the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy of the multilayers and the in-plane magnetic field. Moreover,we used the switching plasticity of Co/Gd multilayers for demonstrating spike timing-dependent plasticity and sigmoid-like activation behavior. This work gives useful guidance to design multilevel spintronic devices which could be applied in high-performance neuromorphic computing.

文摘The high-frequency electromagnetic waves of ground-penetrating radar(GPR)attenuate severely when propagated in an underground attenuating medium owing to the influence of resistivity, which remarkably decreases the resolution of reverse time migration(RTM).As an effective high-resolution imaging method,attenuation-compensated RTM(ACRTM)can eff ectively compensate for the energy loss caused by the attenuation related to media absorption under the influence of resistivity. Therefore, constructing an accurate resistivity-media model to compensate for the attenuation of electromagnetic wave energy is crucial for realizing the ACRTM imaging of GPR data. This study proposes a resistivity-constrained ACRTM imaging method for the imaging of GPR data by adding high-density resistivity detection along the GPR survey line and combining it with its resistivity inversion profile. The proposed method uses the inversion result of apparent resistivity data as the GPR RTM-resistivity model for imposing resistivity constraints. Moreover, the hybrid method involving image minimum entropy and RTM is used to estimate the medium velocity at the diff raction position, and combined with the distribution characteristics of the reflection in the GPR profile,a highly accurate velocity model is built to improve the imaging resolution of the ACRTM.The accuracy and eff ectiveness of the proposed method are verified using the ACRTM test of the GPR simulated data of a typical attenuating media model. On this basis, the GPR and apparent resistivity data were observed on a field survey line, and use the GPR resistivity-constrained ACRTM method to image the observed data.A comparison of the proposed method with the conventional ACRTM method shows that the proposed method has better imaging depth, stronger energy, and higher resolution, and the obtained results are more conducive for subsequent data analysis and interpretation.

文摘Due to unreliable and bandwidth-limited characteristics of communication link in networked control systems, the realtime compensated methods for single-output systems and multioutput systems are proposed in this paper based on the compressed sensing(CS)theory and sliding window technique,by which the estimates of dropping data packets in the feedback channel are obtained and the performance degradation induced by packet drops is reduced.Specifically,in order to reduce the cumulative error caused by the algorithm, the compensated estimates for single-output systems are corrected via the regularization term;considering the process of single-packet transmission,a new sequential CS framework of sensor data streams is introduced to effectively compensate the dropping packet on single-channel of multi-output systems;in presence of the medium access constraints on multi-channel,the communication sequence for scheduling is coupled to the algorithm and the estimates of the multiple sensors for multi-output systems are obtained via the regularization term.Simulation results illustrate that the proposed methods perform well and receive satisfactory performance.

文摘The degree of variation of trading prices with respect to time is volatility-measured by the standard deviation of returns. Our result is well suited for financial market applications and in particular the analysis of high frequency data for the computation of volatility.
