Analysis of the Role of Syntactic Complexity in Students’ Reading Comprehension: A Teacher’s Perspective

This study examines the role of the syntactic complexity of the text in the reading comprehension skills of students.Utilizing the qualitative method of research,this paper used structured interview questions as the main data-gathering instruments.English language teachers from Coral na Munti National High School were selected as the respondents of the study.Finding of the study suggests that the syntactic complexity of the text affects the reading comprehension of the students.Students found it challenging to understand the message that the author conveyed if he or she used a large number of phrases and clauses in one sentence.Furthermore,the complex sentence syntactic structure was deemed the most challenging for students to understand.To overcome said challenges in comprehending text,various reading intervention programs were utilized by teachers.These interventions include focused or targeted instruction and the implementation of the Project Dear,suggested by the Department of Education.These programs were proven to help students improve their comprehension as well as their knowledge in syntactical structure of sentences.This study underscores the importance of selecting appropriate reading materials and implementing suitable reading intervention programs to enhance students’comprehension skills. 展开更多

华北灌溉农业旱灾风险综合防范凝聚力评价指标体系构建

旱灾是对中国造成损失最大、影响最为严重的自然灾害之一.目前已对农业旱灾综合风险防范凝聚力进行初步研究,但尚未构建凝聚力评价指标体系.依据区域灾害系统理论和凝聚力的定义与阐述,在梳理人文社科凝聚力和农业旱灾脆弱性、适应性、... 旱灾是对中国造成损失最大、影响最为严重的自然灾害之一.目前已对农业旱灾综合风险防范凝聚力进行初步研究,但尚未构建凝聚力评价指标体系.依据区域灾害系统理论和凝聚力的定义与阐述,在梳理人文社科凝聚力和农业旱灾脆弱性、适应性、恢复性研究成果的基础上,结合邢台市区域特点及对各级政府和农户等主体的调研结果,提出了指标选取原则与依据,运用层次分析法构建了县级和村镇级农业旱灾风险综合防范凝聚力评价指标体系.依据指标性质将体系分为2个部分:软指标“凝心”包括组织领导、协同合作、意愿度等方面;硬指标“聚力”包括孕灾环境、资源和工程设施、财力和粮食供给、农业生产等方面.研究可为后续量化分析提供基础,是对区域凝聚力整体水平的初步探究,也可为减轻旱灾风险提供理论指导与支持. 展开更多

秦巴山区历史文化街区建筑综合防灾评估研究——以恒口老街区为例

秦巴山区因其独特的地理和气候条件成为防灾减灾救灾的重点区域,而其历史文化街区的建筑是安全隐患的主要承载体。该文综合考虑秦巴山区历史文化街区建筑不安全性因素,从建筑单体和建筑组群两个层面,以及建筑本体、建筑附属和建筑环境... 秦巴山区因其独特的地理和气候条件成为防灾减灾救灾的重点区域,而其历史文化街区的建筑是安全隐患的主要承载体。该文综合考虑秦巴山区历史文化街区建筑不安全性因素,从建筑单体和建筑组群两个层面,以及建筑本体、建筑附属和建筑环境三个维度,构建了历史文化街区建筑综合防灾的评估框架,并以陕西省第四批历史文化街区恒口老街区为例开展研究。结果表明:恒口老街区在建筑本体防灾、附属防灾及环境防灾在6大组群和1219栋单体建筑内存在显著差异,防灾能力较强区域均呈面状分散于街巷两侧;而防灾薄弱点则多为可达性较低的组群内部。该结果为减轻街区建筑灾害风险危险性、降低建筑承灾体易损性、增强建筑自适性以及提高建筑的可恢复性,提供了研判技术依据和改进方向。 展开更多

在进一步全面深化改革的时代背景下,探讨社会创新在健全人口发展支持和服务体系中的作用显得尤为关键。由于人口新国情与治理现代化之间的限度,中国人口治理的社会创新始终面临一系列挑战。中华人民共和国成立以来,中国人口治理的创新... 在进一步全面深化改革的时代背景下,探讨社会创新在健全人口发展支持和服务体系中的作用显得尤为关键。由于人口新国情与治理现代化之间的限度,中国人口治理的社会创新始终面临一系列挑战。中华人民共和国成立以来,中国人口治理的创新实践从工具主义导向的偶发性举措创新,到市场驱动下的政策形式创新,再到风险叠加背景下的工具理性创新,最终发展至人口国情下的实质性社会创新。通过构建一个涵盖“横向协调、纵向协同、长远规划”的三维模型,重新建立健全人口发展支撑和服务体系的理论解释框架。该框架的主旨内涵是国家治理的社会创新,要求从整体视角审视人口治理的现代化进程,促进国家战略转向为社会行动。即健全人口发展支持和服务体系在未来实践中,将进一步拓展为“发展性—社会包容”“普惠性—社会投资”“基础性—社会动员”“兜底性—社会保护”的治理现代化矩阵。 展开更多

政府与市场的关系是职业教育内外部治理关系的核心,先后经历了政府主导论、市场基础论、有为政府与有效市场论的演变。在有为政府与有效市场的关系形塑下,职业教育治理改革应实现三大转变,即政府治理方式应从事后响应转变为事前布局,职... 政府与市场的关系是职业教育内外部治理关系的核心,先后经历了政府主导论、市场基础论、有为政府与有效市场论的演变。在有为政府与有效市场的关系形塑下,职业教育治理改革应实现三大转变,即政府治理方式应从事后响应转变为事前布局,职业院校治理角色应从代理主体转变为改革先锋,市场主体参与治理的动机应从短期利益转变为战略投资。政府、职业院校和市场的关系应由单向的“影响回应”关系转变为双向的“并行互动”关系。当前,我国政府参与职业教育治理的权责边界不清,职业院校办学自主权无法满足发展需求,市场主体参与职业教育缺乏战略自觉。为此,我国应加强各级政府的政策协作,提升政府政策的精准度和前瞻性;优化职业院校组织定位和内部治理模式,提升学校治理的灵活性和有效性;深度分析企业发展的外部条件和内部需求,提升企业发展的积极性和适应性。 展开更多
