Study on the Textual Coherence Function of Conjunctions in Political Texts and Their Translation Reconstruction

The assessment of translation quality in political texts is primarily based on achieving effective communication.Throughout the translation process,it is essential to not only accurately convey the original content but also effectively transform the structural mechanisms of the source language.In the translation reconstruction of political texts,various textual cohesion methods are often employed,with conjunctions serving as a primary means for semantic coherence within text units.

Kepler’s Conjunction for Two Strong Earthquakes in Türkiye in February 2023

This work is devoted to the study of the relationship between strong earthquakes and planetary configurations using the example of two consecutive strong earthquakes that occurred in Türkiye (Turkey), on February 6, 2023. It is shown that at the time of the earthquakes, linear alignment of the planets along the Jupiter-Venus-Sun line was observed, that is, the astronomical trigger belonged to the generalized Kepler conjunction scheme (gKc), when the Earth does not participate in the linearization scheme. It is shown that for the first earthquake that occurred at 01:17 UTC, the ratio of the distances between Jupiter-Earth and Jupiter-Mars was close to an integer value equal to 5.993. For the second earthquake that occurred on the same day at 10:25 UTC, no integer resonance ratios were detected, however, it was found that the terrestrial e UTC line at the time of the earthquake passed through the position of Mercury. Recall that the 12-hour line of the eUTC chart is always oriented towards the Sun. The conclusions of the work once again confirm the correctness of the theories of Archimedes and Kepler and convince us of the existence of a gravitational phenomenon that does not depend on the distances and masses of planets, has a pronounced inertial and wave character and does not fit into the general theory of relativity, developed in the last century by Albert Einstein.

The Path of Grammaticalization for Coordinate Conjunctions and its Universality

From the study of polysemy of coordinate conjunctions, it can be found that there are grammaticalization processes from coordination to transition and from coordination to succession. It is a general evolutionary process in connective structures to go from non-specific semantic relationship to specific semantic relationship. This was caused by the cognitive tendency of approximately substituting typical functions for atypical functions.

Research on the Occurrences of Causality Conjunctions in Korean Based on Corpus

Corpus is a kind of database that may contain texts in a single language(monolingual corpus)or text data in multiple languages(multilingual corpus).Most of the words can be involved in such a database,so it is provided with significant realistic meaning for language learners.Also,the use of causality conjunction in Korean plays a more important guiding role in listening,speaking,reading and writing of Korean.However,the status with regard to the application of causality conjunction in Korean is not optimistic and the problems such as the improper use of language,lack of knowledge about conjunction by learners,short of professional Korean teaching consciousness by teachers and others are being,thereby seriously hindering the learning interests of Korean learners and educational progress.Thus,in accordance with research status at home and abroad,this paper carries out indepth analysis on the basic theory of corpus and Korean conjunction as well as the application of causality conjunction in Korean based on the corpus.And it can be found that the research on the application of causality conjunction in Korean based on corpus is with important value for both the flexible use of language and the improvement of comprehensive application ability of language.

These ISI conferences have brought together academic researchers,law enforcement and intelligence experts,information technology consultant and practitioners to discuss their research and practice related to various ISI topics including ISI data management,data and text mining for ISI applications,terrorism informatics,deception detection,terrorist and criminal social network analysis,crime analysis,monitoring and surveillance,policy studies and evaluation,information assurance,among others. We continue this stream of ISI conferences by organizing the Workshop on Intelligence and Security Informatics (WISI’06) in conjunction with the Pacific Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (PAKDD’06). WISI’06 will provide a stimulating forum for ISI researchers in Pacific Asia and other regions of the world to exchange ideas and report research progress. The Development of Successive Conjunctions of Chinese

The paper explored the development of successive conjunctions from Archaic Chinese to Contemporary Chinese from a macroscopic perspective.Data statistics and diachronic study method were adopted in this paper,and the results indicated that a quantity of new successive conjunctions have been produced both in Archaic Chinese and Mid-ancient Chinese,and at the same time a very large proportion of the old successive conjunctions were superseded by the new.Those which appeared in very few types of corpus and have low frequency of use are more likely to be eliminated.In Contemporary Chinese,the successive conjunction system tends to be stable and concise.

A Case Study of Inter-sentence Conjunctions in Chinese/English Legal Parallel Texts

The present study is a contrastive study of inter-sentence conjunctions in Chinese/English legal parallel texts. Conjunction is one of the five cohesive devices put forward by Halliday and Hasan (1976). Many scholars have applied their model of cohesion to the study of English and Chinese languages. As for the use of conjunction in Chinese and English, most scholars believe that there are more cases of conjunction in the English legal texts than in the Chinese ones because it is generally considered that Chinese is predominantly paratactic and English mainly hypotactic. Besides, up to now little detailed contrastive study has been done on conjunctions in Chinese/English non-literary texts.

Cross-Linguistic Influence in Hong Kong ESL Learners' Acquisition of Conjunctions

Language transfer is one of the most significant aspects of cross-linguistic influ-ence.It can be divided into two types:positive and negative,the beneficial and det-rimental use of one language's acquired characteristics in another.This study aims to investigate the L1(Chinese)influence on Hong Kong ESL learners'acquisition of conjunctions and whether the use of L1 has an impact on this influence.An online questionnaire combining questions about students'English learning experience and a grammatical judgement task was sent to a government-funded secondary school in Hong Kong and completed by 79 students.Evidence of both positive and negative transfer from Chinese to English was found by testing six conjunctions or conjunc-tion pairs:although...but,because...so,not only...but also,either...or,neither...nor,.and despite.The results suggest that Chinese is likely to have an impact on students'acquisition of conjunctions,and the use of Chinese in English classes can worsen negative transfer and boost positive transfer.The degree of transfer might increase when more Chinese is used in class.To alleviate the impact of Chinese transfer and to provide more effective L2 teaching,monitoring the use of L1 and regular evalua-tion might be useful.Teachers can also adjust the amount of Chinese used according to the students'English proficiency level.

Ground-based and additional science support for SMILE

The joint European Space Agency and Chinese Academy of Sciences Solar wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer(SMILE)mission will explore global dynamics of the magnetosphere under varying solar wind and interplanetary magnetic field conditions,and simultaneously monitor the auroral response of the Northern Hemisphere ionosphere.Combining these large-scale responses with medium and fine-scale measurements at a variety of cadences by additional ground-based and space-based instruments will enable a much greater scientific impact beyond the original goals of the SMILE mission.Here,we describe current community efforts to prepare for SMILE,and the benefits and context various experiments that have explicitly expressed support for SMILE can offer.A dedicated group of international scientists representing many different experiment types and geographical locations,the Ground-based and Additional Science Working Group,is facilitating these efforts.Preparations include constructing an online SMILE Data Fusion Facility,the discussion of particular or special modes for experiments such as coherent and incoherent scatter radar,and the consideration of particular observing strategies and spacecraft conjunctions.We anticipate growing interest and community engagement with the SMILE mission,and we welcome novel ideas and insights from the solar-terrestrial community.

Interface conjunction factors of the second phase particles in alloys and their effects

The second phase in multi-phase alloys has connection with many important phenomena such as aging strengthening,dispersion strengthening,secondary hardening,crystal refinement.In this paper,the interface conjunction factors of the interface between MC(M=V,Nb,Ti) and austenite and martensite are calculate out.The relationship between these factors and the characteristics are analyzed.The reason for the second phases being fine and dispersing and their strengthening and toughening effect on the alloy is explained using the relationship.Based on the relationship,the valence electron structure of the interface between the second phase particles and the matrix can be optimized by changing the alloying elements,which make it possible to design the composition of alloys from the valence electron structure of the second phase particles.

Quantitative Analysis of Fe Content in Iron Ore via External Calibration in Conjunction with Internal Standardization Method Coupled with LIBS

The external calibration in conjunction with internal standardization（ECIS） coupled with laser-induced breakdown spectroscopic（LIBS） technique was proposed to perform the quantitative analysis of Fe content in iron ore The plasma temperature and the electron number density were calculated to prove that the plasma was under local thermodynamic equilibrium（LTE） conditions and to ensure that the integral intensities of Fe I lines were reasonable. In addition, the result of the quantitative analysis shows a content of （20.26±0.59）% by mass of Fe in the iron ore. It was determined by four calibration curves, drawn for four emission lines of Fe I（373.48, 373.71,404.58 and 438.35 nm） normalized by Mn I line, base on the ECIS method which can eliminate the influence of matrix effect and improve the accuracy of quantitative analysis, compared with the standard addition method. Both the results of these two analytical methods were compared with that listed in the Standard Substance Certificate. The percentage content of Fe in the same sample of iron ore by the ECIS method was （20.17±0.08）% by mass, which shows a good performance to analyze the Fe content of iron ore in combination with LIBS.

Hayabusa2’s superior solar conjunction mission operations: Planning and post-operation results

In late 2018,the asteroid Ryugu was in the Sun's shadow during the superior solar conjunction phase.As the Sun-Earth-Ryugu angle decreased to below 3°,the Hayabusa2 spacecraft experienced 21 days of planned blackout in the Earth-probe communication link.This was the first time a spacecraft had experienced solar conjunction while hovering around a minor body.For the safety of the spacecraft,a low energy transfer trajectory named Ayu was designed in the Hill reference frame to increase its altitude from 20 to 110 km.The trajectory was planned with the newly developed optNEAR tool and validated with real time data.This article shows the results of the conjunction operation,from planning to fight data.

Hopf Algebra of Labeled Simple Graphs

A lot of combinatorial objects have a natural bialgebra structure. In this paper, we prove that the vector space spanned by labeled simple graphs is a bialgebra with the conjunction product and the unshuffle coproduct. In fact, it is a Hopf algebra since it is graded connected. The main conclusions are that the vector space spanned by labeled simple graphs arising from the unshuffle coproduct is a Hopf algebra and that there is a Hopf homomorphism from permutations to label simple graphs.

文章以“再一个”为例,考察一则在现当代汉语中发生并完成的语义演变现象:从数量范畴到指代范畴再到连接范畴。文章认为,“再一个”从数量范畴演变为连接范畴,中间经过指代范畴。随着语义演变的完成,“再一个”从短语词汇化为一个三音节连词。“再一个”与“再说”的差异主要体现在三个方面:语体、词汇化程度和主观性。汉语中的数量范畴存在双重演化路径:关联化和情态化。
