However, since these are inherently intermittent and fluctuating, the grid-forming diesel engine generator sets are usually required to operate with larger amounts of spinning reserve, often at low loading conditions what tends to increases operating and maintenance costs. Frequency stability is of great concern in “small” systems, such as mini-grids, where any individual generator in-feed represents a substantial portion of the total demand. There, the initial rate of change of frequency is typically larger and a lower value of frequency can be reached in a shorter time than in conventional systems with all generation supplied by rotating machines, possibly resulting in under-frequency load shedding and tripping of renewable energy generators. The first part of this paper, discusses some general concepts regarding frequency stability in a diesel hybrid mini-grid and how energy storage systems can be used to enhance system performance. Then, a particular technique based on a virtual synchronous generator is presented and its effectiveness is demonstrated with simulation results.展开更多

The actuator employs electro-hydraulic system and can provide a high and circumferential load. To initialize new research, the characteristics of various kinds of active actuators to control rotor shaft vibration are briefly introduced. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the preliminary results via presenting the structure, functions and operating principles, in particular, the working process of the electro-hydraulic system of the new actuator which includes a set of high speed electromagnetic valves and a series of sloping cone-shaped openings, and presenting the transmission relationships among the control parameters from control signals into the valves to active load onto shaft. The course of the work is dynamic, and a series of spatial forces and moments are put on the shaft to get an external resultant force to reduce excitations that induce vibration of shafts. By checking states of vibration, the actuator can control the impulse width and the interval of injection time for applying different control force to a vibration shaft in two circumference directions through the regulating action of a set of combination directional control valves. The results from simulating analysis and experiment show evidence of that this design can satisfy the case of active process of decreasing of flexural and torsional vibrations.展开更多

The terminal sliding mode controllers and the RBF NNs work in parallel to solve the LFC problem for the renewable power system. Some simulation results illustrate the feasibility and validity of the presented scheme.
文摘The development of iterative learning control combined with disturbance-observer-based(DOB)control for the digital low-level radio frequency(LLRF)system of the International Linear Collider project is presented. The objective of this study is to compensate for both repetitive(or predictable)and unpredictable disturbances in a radio frequency system(e.g.,beam loading,Lorentz force detuning, and microphonics). The DOB control approach was verified using the LLRF system at the Superconducting Test Facility(STF)at KEK in the absence of a beam. The method comprising DOB control combined with an iterative learning control algorithm was then demonstrated in a cavity-simulator-based test bench, where a simulated beam was available. The results showed that the performance of the LLRF system was improved,as expected by this combined control approach. We plan to further generalize this approach to LLRF systems at the STF and the future International Linear Collider project.

文摘This paper proposes a novel sampled-data asynchronous fuzzy output feedback control approach for active suspension systems in restricted frequency domain. In order to better investigate uncertain suspension dynamics, the sampleddata Takagi-Sugeno(T-S)fuzzy half-car active suspension(HCAS)system is considered, which is further modelled as a continuous system with an input delay.Firstly, considering that the fuzzy system and the fuzzy controller cannot share the identical premises due to the existence of input delay,a reconstructed method is employed to synchronize the time scales of membership functions between the fuzzy controller and the fuzzy system.Secondly, since external disturbances often belong to a restricted frequency range,a finite frequency control criterion is presented for control synthesis to reduce conservatism.Thirdly, given a full information of state variables is hardly available in practical suspension systems,a two-stage method is proposed to calculate the static output feedback control gains. Moreover,an iterative algorithm is proposed to compute the optimum solution. Finally, numerical simulations verify the effectiveness of the proposed controllers.

文摘Aiming at providing with high-load capability in active vibration control of large-scale rotor system, a new type of active actuator to simultaneously reduce the dangers of low frequency flexural and torsional vibrations is designed. The results from simulating analysis and experiment show evidence of that this design can satisfy the case of active process of decreasing of flexural and torsional vibrations.
文摘The ambitious global targets on decarbonization present the need for massive integration of renewable generation in power systems, resulting in a significant decrease in the system inertia. In addition to the reduction in system inertia, the transmission system in Great Britain(GB)faces some unique challenges owing to its relatively small capacity, while being decoupled from other transmission systems and with the renewable resources largely non-uniformly distributed across the system. This paper presents opinions and insights on the challenges associated with frequency control in a low-inertia system and the potential solutions from a GB perspective. In this paper,we focus on three main techniques that act over different time scales:synchronous condensers, inertia emulation, and fast frequency response. We evaluate their relative advantages and limitations with learnings from recent research and development projects in GB,along with the opinions on their roles in addressing the frequency control challenges in future low-inertia systems.

文摘A novel 4H-Si C trench insulated gate bipolar transistor(IGBT)with a controllable hole-extracting(CHE)path is proposed and investigated in this paper. The CHE path is controlled by metal semiconductor gate(MES gate)and metal oxide semiconductor gate(MOS gate)in the p-shield region. The grounded p-shield region can significantly suppress the high electric field around gate oxide in Si C devices, but it weakens the conductivity modulation in the Si C trench IGBT by rapidly sweeping out holes. This effect can be eliminated by introducing the CHE path. The CHE path is pinched off by the high gate bias voltage at on-state to maintain high conductivity modulation and obtain a comparatively low on-state voltage(VON).During the turn-off transient, the CHE path is formed, which contributes to a decreased turn-off loss(EOFF).Based on numerical simulation, the EOFFof the proposed IGBT is reduced by 89%compared with the conventional IGBT at the same VONand the VONof the proposed IGBT is reduced by 50%compared to the grounded p-shield IGBT at the same EOFF.In addition, the average power reduction for the proposed device can be 51.0%to 81.7%and 58.2%to 72.1%with its counterparts at a wide frequency range of 500 Hz to 10 k Hz,revealing a great improvement of frequency characteristics.

文摘This paper designs a decentralized resilient H_(∞)load frequency control(LFC)scheme for multi-area cyber-physical power systems(CPPSs).Under the network-based control framework, the sampled measurements are transmitted through the communication networks, which may be attacked by energylimited denial-of-service(DoS)attacks with a characterization of the maximum count of continuous data losses(resilience index). Each area is controlled in a decentralized mode, and the impacts on one area from other areas via their interconnections are regarded as the additional load disturbance of this area. Then, the closed-loop LFC system of each area under DoS attacks is modeled as an aperiodic sampled-data control system with external disturbances.Under this modeling,a decentralized resilient H_(∞)scheme is presented to design the state-feedback controllers with guaranteed H∞performance and resilience index based on a novel transmission interval-dependent loop functional method. When given the controllers, the proposed scheme can obtain a less conservative H_(∞)performance and resilience index that the LFC system can tolerate. The effectiveness of the proposed LFC scheme is evaluated on a one-area CPPS and two three-area CPPSs under DoS attacks.

文摘This study presents a radio frequency(RF)fingerprint identification method combining a convolutional neural network(CNN)and gated recurrent unit(GRU)network to identify measurement and control signals. The proposed algorithm(CNN-GRU)uses a convolutional layer to extract the IQ-related learning timing features.A GRU network extracts timing features at a deeper level before outputting the final identification results. The number of parameters and the algorithm’s complexity are reduced by optimizing the convolutional layer structure and replacing multiple fully-connected layers with gated cyclic units.Simulation experiments show that the algorithm achieves an average identification accuracy of 84.74% at a -10 dB to 20 dB signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)with fewer parameters and less computation than a network model with the same identification rate in a software radio dataset containing multiple USRP X310s from the same manufacturer, with fewer parameters and less computation than a network model with the same identification rate. The algorithm is used to identify measurement and control signals and ensure the security of the measurement and control link with theoretical and engineering applications.
