Through literature and clinical research,the current status of Mongolian medicine treatment for breast hyperplasia is discussed,such as oral administration of Mongolian medicine for treatment,oral administration of Mongolian medicine combined with external application for treatment,combination of Mongolian medicine acupuncture therapy and oral administration of Mongolian medicine for treatment,integrated treatment of Mongolian and Western medicine,and combination therapy of Mongolian and traditional Chinese medicine,providing new ideas and choices for clinical research.

Gut microbiome and metabolic-associated fatty liver disease:Current status and potential applications

Metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)is one of the most common chronic liver diseases worldwide.In recent years,the occurrence rate of MAFLD has been on the rise,mainly due to lifestyle changes,high-calorie diets,and imbalanced dietary structures,thereby posing a threat to human health and creating heavy social and economic burdens.With the development of 16S sequencing and integrated multi-omics analysis,the role of the gut microbiota(GM)and its metabolites in MAFLD has been further recognized.The GM plays a role in digestion,energy metabolism,vitamin synthesis,the prevention of pathogenic bacteria colonisation,and immunoregulation.The gut-liver axis is one of the vital links between the GM and the liver.Toxic substances in the intestine can enter the liver through the portal vascular system when the intestinal barrier is severely damaged.The liver also influences the GM in various ways,such as bile acid circulation.The gut-liver axis is essential in maintaining the body’s normal physiological state and plays a role in the onset and prognosis of many diseases,including MAFLD.This article reviews the status of the GM and MAFLD and summarizes the GM characteristics in MAFLD.The relationship between the GM and MAFLD is discussed in terms of bile acid circulation,energy metabolism,micronutrients,and signalling pathways.Current MAFLD treat ments targeting the GM are also listed.

Current status and reflection on the development of high-speed maglev transportation

Purpose–High-speed maglev technology can address the issues of adhesion,friction,vibration and highspeed current collection in traditional wheel-rail systems,making it an important direction for the future development of high-speed rail technology.Design/methodology/approach–This paper elaborates on the demand and significance of developing high-speed maglev technology worldwide and examines the current status and technological maturity of several major high-speed maglev systems globally.Findings–This paper summarizes the challenges in the development of high-speed maglev railways in China.Based on this analysis,it puts forward considerations for future research on high-speed maglev railways.Originality/value–This paper describes the development status and technical maturity of several major high-speed maglev systems in the world for the first time,summarizes the existing problems in the development of China’s high-speed maglev railway and on this basis,puts forward the thinking of the next research of China’s high-speed maglev railway.

Experimental primates and non-human primate(NHP) models of human diseases in China: current status and progress

Non-human primates （NHPs） are phylogenetically close to humans, with many similarities in terms of physiology, anatomy, immunology, as well as neurology, all of which make them excellent experimental models for biomedical research. Compared with developed countries in America and Europe, China has relatively rich primate resources and has continually aimed to develop NHPs resources. Currently, China is a leading producer and a major supplier of NHPs on the international market. However, there are some deficiencies in feeding and management that have hampered China＇s growth in NHP research and materials. Nonetheless, China has recently established a number of primate animal models for human diseases and achieved marked scientific progress on infectious diseases, cardiovascular diseases, endocrine diseases, reproductive diseases, neurological diseases, and ophthalmic diseases, etc. Advances in these fields via NHP models will undoubtedly further promote the development of China＇s life sciences and pharmaceutical industry, and enhance China＇s position as a leader in NHP research. This review covers the current status of NHPs in China and other areas, highlighting the latest developments in disease models using NHPs, as well as outlining basic problems and proposing effective to better utilize NHP resources and further foster NHP research in China.

Current Status of and Opinions on Heart Transplantation in China

The purpose of this review is to provide a comprehensive update on recent advances in heart transplantation in China.Despite advances in pharmacologic and device treatment of chronic heart failure,long-term morbidity and mortality remain high,and many patients progress to end-stage heart failure.Heart transplantation has become standard treatment for selected patients with end-stage heart failure,though challenges still exist.However,multiple advances over the past few years will improve the survival and quality-of-life of heart transplant recipients.This article elaborates on the specific characteristics of heart transplantation in China,the current issues,development trends,and related experiences with heart transplantation in Wuhan Union Hospital.

Base editing in plants: Current status and challenges

Genome editing technologies have revolutionized the field of plant science by enabling targeted modification of plant genomes and are emerging as powerful tools for both plant gene functional analyses and crop improvement. Although homology-directed repair(HDR)is a feasible approach to achieve precise gene replacement and base substitution in some plant species, the dominance of the non-homologous end joining pathway and low efficiency of HDR in plant cells have limited its application. Base editing has emerged as an alternative tool to HDR-mediated replacement, facilitating precise editing of plant genome by converting one single base to another in a programmable manner without a doublestranded break and a donor repair template. In this review, we summarize the latest developments in base-editing technologies as well as their underlying mechanisms. We review current applications of these technologies in plant species. Finally, we address the challenges and future perspectives of this emerging technology in plants.

History, current status, and prospects of soybean production and research in sub-Saharan Africa

Soybean(Glycine max(L.) Merr.) is a non-native and non-staple crop in sub-Saharan Africa(SSA) with potential to be a commercial crop owing to its wide range of uses as food, feed,and industrial raw material. Soybean was first introduced to SSA by Chinese traders in the19 th century and was cultivated as an economic crop as early as 1903 in South Africa. In the past four decades, soybean cultivation area and production in SSA has increased exponentially, from about 20,000 ha and 13,000 t in the early 1970 s to 1,500,000 ha and2,300,000 t in 2016. Soybean yield has been stagnant in SSA for decades at about 1.1 t ha^(-1),much lower than the world average, representing one of the most challenging issues in the soybean industry in SSA. The low soybean yield in SSA can be attributed to the use of poorperforming varieties and to the limited application of fertilizers and rhizobial inoculants in soils with no history of soybean production. South Africa, Nigeria, Zambia, and Uganda are the leading soybean producers in SSA. Soybean research in SSA is conducted by international and national research institutions, including IITA, national soybean improvement programs, universities, and the private sector. Between 1970 and 2011, 195 soybean varieties were released by IITA, private breeders, and national soybean improvement programs in SSA. This paper reviews the history and current state of soybean production and of the utilization and adoption of tropical varieties in SSA, addresses the major soybean yield-limiting factors across the region, and discusses the potential of the soybean industry in SSA. It also highlights soybean improvement efforts and lessons learned from previous soybean improvement efforts and the current progress of some national soybean improvement programs in SSA. Opportunities for scaling up tropical soybean as a major crop across SSA countries are promising.

Current status and progress of prevention andtreatment of chronic obstructive pulmonarydisease in China

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is the most prevalent chronic respiratory disease, leading toa great number of death and a huge disease burden to China. Recently, as the promulgation of a series of national healthpolicies, the diagnosis and treatment of COPD has gradually gained attention. The prevention and treatment capacity ofCOPD in China has been greatly improved, but there are still problems of insufficient diagnosis and irregular treatment. Theproblem is mainly related to the lack of universal pulmonary function test, insufficient number and level of doctors, and thenonstandard use of drugs. The prevention and treatment of COPD in primary medical institutions is particularly lacking. Inorder to promote the prevention and treatment of COPD, China has innovatively adopted a number of measures, including"Happy Breathing" project, standardized diagnosis and treatment system and capacity building for respiratory diseases inprimary medical institutions, el at.
