Statistical energy analysis of rotating cylindrical shell’s cutting noise

It is difficult to study the contribution to total cutting noise of each sound radiator in cutting system by means of traditional theoretical or experimental methods. In this paper, problems associated with cylindrical thin shell 's cutting noise are studied by applying Statistical Energy Analysis of Non-Conservatively Coupled Systems under Correlative Power Input. Theory and techniques for parameter evaluation, cutting system modelling and other important problems concerned are also discussed. Results show that cutting noise is mainly from the sound radiation of workpiece in cutting process, and Statistical Energy Analysis can be applied successfully to the research of large cylindrical shell 's cutting noise. 展开更多

Based on the principle of Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) for non-conservatively coupled systems under general excitations, relationship between noise radiated from and excitations on coupled complex structures is studied, which lays a foundation for the determination of noise/vibration energy by evaluation of exciting forces, and from that the quantitative analysis of the effects of an excitation on sound power from a sub-structure can be done. With extending of the relationship to the study of cutting noise, regression analysis method for evaluating the effects of cutting process on machine tool noise is established. Results show that cutting process has generally negligible effects on machine tool noise, and there is no apparent difference between machine tool noise in cutting condition and in idle one. 展开更多

In this work,the performance of Lg = 22 nm In(0.75)Ga(0.25)As channel-based high electron mobility transistor(HEMT) on InP substrate is compared with metamorphic high electron mobility transistor(MHEMT) on GaAs substrate.The devices features heavily doped In(0.6)Ga(0.4)As source/drain(S/D) regions,Si double δ-doping planar sheets on either side of the In(0.75)Ga(0.25) As channel layer to enhance the transconductance,and buried Pt metal gate technology for reducing short channel effects.The TCAD simulation results show that the InP HEMT performance is superior to GaAs MHEMT in terms of fT,f(max) and transconductance(g(mmax)).The 22 nm InP HEMT shows an fT of 733 GHz and an f(max) of 1340 GHz where as in GaAs MHEMT it is 644 GHz and 924 GHz,respectively.InGaAs channel-based HEMTs on InP/GaAs substrates are suitable for future sub-millimeter and millimeter wave applications. 展开更多
