In order to express information on the quality grade of product designed, thetarget value of product quality design was described with a fuzzy number in this paper. Analternative to Taguchi's, the robustness application design method has been recently presented.However, neither Taguchi's method nor the alternative method is capable of dealing satisfactorilywith the frequently encountered situations in which all the noise variables cannot be studiedsimultaneously. Based on the ideas from response surface modeling, linear models theory, and randomeffects models, we provide a method for estimation in the robustness application design method inproduct quality applications. With this new method used, the high-quality ratio of the productdesigned could be increased, and the ability to resist the influence of various disturbing factorsand noise factors could be enhanced. 展开更多

Fractal theory is adopted to create image automatically, which is applied to design knitted sweaters. Based on Mandelbrot set(M-set), image could be generated automatically by visual basic (VB) program. Plenty of wonderful patterns are created by the following methods: selecting any parts of the image and magnifying, extending generalized M-set, editing the selected images with photoshop. The edited pattern is used to set on any parts of clothes to show fashion effect. Actual knitted structure is simulated by knitting CAD software. The results show that the fractal theory has greater potential applications in knitted pattern design, and it deserves further research. 展开更多

A broadband and ultra-thin absorber for solar cell application is designed. The absorber consists of three layers, and the difference is that the four split ring resonators made of metal gold are encrusted in the gallium arsenide (GaAs) plane in the top layer. The simulated results show that a perfect absorption in the region from 481.2 to 684.0THz can be obtained for either transverse electric or magnetic polarization wave due to the coupling effect between the material of GaAs and gold. The metamaterial is ultra-thin, having the total thickness of 56nm, which is less than one-tenth resonance wavelength, and the absorption coefficients at the three resonance wavelengths are above 90%. Moreover, the effective medium theory, electric field and surface current distributions are adopted to explain the physical mechanism of the absorption, and the permittivity sensing applications are also discussed. As a result, the proposed structure can be used in many areas, such as solar cell, sensors, and integrated photodetectors. 展开更多

In this paper, an ER control high voltage power supply for engineering application was designed which reduced power wastage by adopting soft switch technology; lessened its volume to satisfy micromation when adopting the planar transformer and improved its response character- istic by choosing an assistant discharging circuit. Simultaneously, a simulation analysis has been carried out. As results, the output voltage of this high voltage power supply is 5 kV, and the voltage can be continuously regulated and the voltage ripple is only 0. 7 %, so the requirement of stability is also achieved. 展开更多

With the use of multimedia which combines the use o f text, sound, images, motion video and animation, it is more efficient for studen ts to learn mould design interactively. A program is created using several multi media software to simulate the mechanism of moulding processes in order to let s tudents understand the concept of mould design. In addition, students can even access the program through the Internet. Therefore, the software is defined as Multimedia and Internet Technology (MIT) program. The MIT program consists of four sections: (i) simulation of mould mechanisms, ( ii) cooling system, (iii) material information and (iv) games for tutorials. Sec tion One covers the basic operations of different types of moulds such as two-p late mould, three-plate mould, split mould, side-core mould and mould with und ercuts. Section Two introduces different types of cooling systems such as bubble r, baffle, cooling circuits, etc. Section Three provides some useful material in formation for mould design. Section Four contains games of matching mould compon ents, mould design problem finding and multiple choice questions to test student s how much they understand mould design concept. Multimedia is highly effective particularly in teaching and learning. It changes the nature of learning itself. It makes reading dynamic by giving words an impo rtant new dimension. It allows students to see, hear and do simultaneously, thus significantly reducing average learning time. Furthermore, through cooperative learning on Internet, students can access the program, share data or search info rmation anytime anywhere. A two-level,quasi-geostrophic long-wave model based on spherical coordinates was developed with the explicit part belonging to a low-order model.However,it includes not only diabatic heating,Ekman fric- tion and mountain distribution,but also parameterized forcing effects of transfer properties of transient eddies. Experiment results showed that,due to the introduction of the parameterization of transfer properties of transient eddies,remarkable improvements on characters of low-order model had been obtained.In addition to its economization in calculation and conciseness in physics as in a low-order model,the long- wave model was shown to describe the energetics and angular momentum balance of the atmosphere much more reasonably,and to present the features of zonal mean westerlies and stationary waves much more correctly than the corresponding low-order model.This kind of long-wave model was therefore regarded as suitable for theoretical research and numerical modelling of some aspects of the general circulation of the atmosphere. 展开更多
