Artificial synapses utilizing spike signals are essential elements of new generation brain-inspired computers.In this paper,we realize light-stimulated adaptive artificial synapse based on nanocrystalline zinc oxide f...Artificial synapses utilizing spike signals are essential elements of new generation brain-inspired computers.In this paper,we realize light-stimulated adaptive artificial synapse based on nanocrystalline zinc oxide film.The artificial synapse photoconductivity shows spike-type signal response,long and short-term memory(LTM and STM),STM-to-LTM transition and paired-pulse facilitation.It is also retaining the memory of previous exposures and demonstrates spike-frequency adaptation properties.A way to implement neurons with synaptic depression,tonic excitation,and delayed accelerating types of response under the influence of repetitive light signals is discussed.The developed artificial synapse is able to become a key element of neuromorphic chips and neuromorphic sensorics systems.展开更多
Objective To devise the safety and validity of clinical application of esophagus radiographic locating method of transseptal puncture. Methods Four hundreds and eighty-six patients who were undergone transseptal punct...Objective To devise the safety and validity of clinical application of esophagus radiographic locating method of transseptal puncture. Methods Four hundreds and eighty-six patients who were undergone transseptal puncture were randomized into two groups. Esophagus radiographic locating method of tansseptal puncture was applied in the study group(n=243) and modified-Ross locating method was used in the control group(n=243). After successful location, transseptal puncture was made. Then observe the success rate and complication incidences of the 2 groups. Results Left atria impression in the study group was clearly seen. 120 cases in control group could not shown clearly the left atria silhouette. The success rate of locating transseptal puncture in the study group and control group were 100% and 50.6 % respectively(P【0.001). The success rate of transeptal puncture in the study group and control group was 99.6% and 45.7% respectively (P【0.001). There were no puncture complication in study group and pericardial tamponade occurred in 1 case in control group. Conclusion The esophagus radiographic locating method of transeptal puncture is accurate, safe and simple to perform. According to the radiographic result, to perform thetranseptal puncture can achieve high success rate with few complications.展开更多

Continued improvements in technology and pump design have made impl...Background: Ventricular assist devices are now used as a bridge to recovery/decision/transplant or as destination therapy in end-stage heart failure. Continued improvements in technology and pump design have made implantation an easier process with reduced operative risks and pump-related adverse events. Considering the beneficial effects of these devices in the clinical setting, it seemed logical to address the long-term effect of the continuous flow pumps on diastolic dysfunction. Methods: This study addresses the effect of HeartMate IITM(HMII) support for 284+/-97 days on echocardiographic parameters of diastolic function. Data from fifteen patients was retrospectively studied status post left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation. The data at approximately 1-year post implantation was compared with that obtained prior to implantation. Statistical analyses were performed using the Microsoft Excel Program/MSExcel Stats. Echocardiographic measurements were carried out in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography guidelines. Results: Of all the echocardiographic parameters assessed only E/Ea and calculated left atrial pressure (LAP) showed a statistically significant decrease. Two parameters that showed a trend towards significance are Ea (septal) and global functional index (p = 0.05). Conclusions: Continuous Flow LVAD support appears to improve diastolic dysfunction. This study has limitations in that we used a single type of continuous flow device (HeartMate IITM) and was conducted as a retrospective analysis. Further studies with larger populations and longer support are required to validate this finding.展开更多

The first approxim...This paper describes a new method to generate discrete signals with arbitrary power spectral density (PSD) and first order probability density function (PDF) without any limitation on PDFs and PSDs. The first approximation has been achieved by using a nonlinear transform function. At the second stage the desired PDF was approximated by a number of symmetric PDFs with defined variance. Each one provides a part of energy from total signal with different ratios of remained desired PSD. These symmetric PDFs defined by sinusoidal components with random amplitude, frequency and phase variables. Both analytic results and examples are included. The proposed scheme has been proved to be useful in simulations involving non-Gaussian processes with specific PSDs and PDFs.展开更多
