The remarkable revolutions in interactivity and multimedia materials together with countless emerging technologies have also enabled the conception of digital storytelling. However, it has not been widely used in many developing countries such as Vietnam. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to conduct an investigation into the history of digital storytelling, the necessary facilities and how it is being used educationally in the classroom so that teachers in developing countries can widely apply digital storytelling in teaching. This paper also raises students' awareness towards using technology in their study, which will make an important breakthrough in teaching and learning English in Vietnam.展开更多

As a creative sharing form of multimedia, the digital storytelling is being concerned by more and more educators because of its discipline applicability and media technology enhancing ability. In this study, the information visualization software, i.e. CiteSpace was applied to visualize and analyze the researches on digital storytelling from the aspects of key articles and citation hotspots, and make a review on the research status of the digital storytelling in the education fields, such as promoting language learning, and helping students develop the 21 st century skills.展开更多

Survival rates for pediatric oncology patients are improved, making it necessary to investigate the psychosocial perspectives of these children. This research began following a comprehensive review of the scientific literature and identification of a gap as it pertains to using DST as an avenue for acquiring data about this aggregate of patients. The purpose of this project was to explore the use of DST among pediatric cancer patients and their perspectives regarding diagnosis. We employed a qualitative case study design with two oncology patients between the ages of 11 - 17 years. The narrative, digital story, and field notes comprise the qualitative data. DST narratives and field notes were analyzed using qualitative content analysis to extract themes. Findings will provide the foundation for future research to explore the use of DST as both an intervention and data collection method in this population.展开更多
